Many American companies go out of their way to hire qualified professionals who are foreign nationals, this is because its easier to undercut them in pay, rather than hiring an American who feels entitled. So the work permit, company sponsership for legal status, will be easy to accomplish, since our companies are looking to negotiate for profits with this leverage. Advise would be to search an apply on the internet, it will be easy to find a company in your field of study, they would even pay for your air fare here, find housing for you, etc..just so that they can hire you over an American , because you are considered an asset here.. Good luck.
well thanks very much for all the helpful comments, the guy at the top though from Indiana you haven't been here in January its not lovely then, some helpful suggestions though will look into them.
Honestly, I wouldn't. The U.S. is nearly bankrupt both monetarily and politically. Instead I would, if I were you, move to either Canada or Australia. I would leave myself if I were younger. Check out Lethbridge, Alberta. Alberta is an energy rich province and a high standard of living and with very beautiful country. And they have their act together. I wouldn't recommend anyone come to the U.S. until our government is somehow changed. What we have facing us is a total train wreck. You would be moving from the cold into the frying pan. You can always bundle up, if necessary, but hard to survive the fire to come. If you can't stand the cold, then I would go to Australia. Just watch out for the funnel spiders.
Visit the US and charm a nice American lady. Marry her and get your green card. Viola!! The whole of the USA is open to you.
Sorry, but if you are going to try to pull the whole "marry to get your green card" scam you are probably going to have to settle for a fatty. That really should be the first question you ask before coming to the US? "Can I be with a fat girl?"
I hav e an idea for you just stay where you are we have enough issue right now than another untrained taco maker.
Fattist I asked myself if I could marry a yank. I even said yes and was engaged to one. In the end....well I'm living in UK
I was going to add that the politics are so divisive today that it is almost unbearable to see and read the news. I'd go elsewhere. It is hard for me to see how it could get any worse. Our body politic is broken, our financial system is broken, our government is broke. We are effectively bankrupt. When hyperinflation inevitably kicks in, there will be widespread looting and burning of entire cities as the rabble take to the streets. I'd go nearly anywhere but the U.S.
My wife and I would move to Colorado if we could. Unfortunately, family, jobs and a love for NYC keep us grounded here. Coincidentally, we know a Scot who lives in Fort Collins, CO and LOVES it. We have been out there a number of times. What a great place to live. Check it out.
Colorado is nice but it won't address the disintegration of our society. We are toast unless our politicians pull their heads out of their tailpipes.
It also won't address Charlie's issue with freezing cold winters. I don't know if its much of an upgrade to move from the freezing cold winters of Scotland to the freezing cold winters of Colorado. Although the skiing is fantastic.
In my opinion, we should be solving our illegal problem on a permanent basis through Commerce that is well regulated among the several States, merely to improve out capital based morals in our capital based political economy.
you might want to try TX (outside of the panhandle) or FL...if you don't like winters in Scotland, summers in MI are really going to tick you off.
