I'd like a chance to fire an MG42. It's just totally iconic of German military forces of WW2. Highly regarded as one of the best, if not still the best, machine guns (in its role of light and medium) ever made. Variations of it are still used in developed countries today.
Yeah, mind you a 16 inch gun is still capable of firing a Volkswagen over the horizon. At long range they used to have compensate for the Earth rotation when doing their gunnery plots. Although the project never got past test castings the Russians had plans for a 20 inch gun
I'd like to try a 50 caliber bolt action sniper rifle shooting at a target over a mile away. I want to see if I have the control to hit a target at that distance.
I have longed to fire a Browning m1919 and the MG42 (hitler's buzzsaw). I'm a big WW2 buff, and these weapons were problably the most iconic weapons of the war.
I am puzzled why do you want such a weapon for close quarter fighting - - - Updated - - - Probably not in the spirit of the discussion but I would love to watch an 88mm German flack gun firing. It had one of the most distinctive sounds ever
The 88 was the deadliest peice of artillery in its time, they could fire it with pinpoint accuracy and struck fear in the hearts of allied soldiers and tankers. Tip of the hat to you sir!
