My great grandparents in 1918 probably thought that Russian Nobles deserved punishment for their crimes against serfs (1609 -- 1861) and Jewish Cantonists (1828 -- 1858 ) In Russian Revolution of 1917, nobles lost almost all of their property to former serfs, peasants, and other poor people including Jews.
