I think the USA should provide Medicaid healthcare to illegal immigrants. The cost of healthcare is the same either way. We are already going to pay for immigrant care through higher medical prices from emergency room care. And bailing out hospitals for uncollected funds. It is also ethical because the illegal immigrants are working in our economy helping companies contributing to an economic boom by working for them.
The cost of free healthcare for 10 million illegals is 100 billion dollars per year and over 1 trillion per decade. It might be cheaper to deport them.
Rats the math says it's cheaper to keep Illegal immigrants going to the ER. If we assume an average $3,000 per ER visit for 10 million illegals that's 30 billion per year. I still think we should provide healthcare for illegal immigrants.
I have a better idea. we give illegals all the healthcare they need and send you leftists that want it the bill. Agree?
Now, as for healthcare for illegal immigrants, California is ahead of the game here. They are taking small steps, moving us one step closer to the goal of giving healthcare to everyone. California one step closer to expanding Medicaid for illegal immigrants http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...xpanding-medicaid-for-illegal-immigrants.html
More reason for increased illegal Exodus from Mexico into the U.S. free healthcare and a new tit to suck dry.
The ER only handles emergencies and doesn't factor in the very expensive healthcare costs that make healthcare expensive like extended care and advanced treatments like surgeries and cancer care.
There is an easy solution. Don't provide care for illegals in the ER. That way the hospitals don't need to be bailed out, the costs go down, and maybe the illegals with either die or leave. However, if you want them to have healthcare, YOU should fund it for them personally.
Deny care at an emergency room??? That's illegal. Fortunately the people making the laws are more kind hearted than you appear to be.
I'm all for universal healthcare, but it's an internal (national) issue. Unless you think America should pay for the world's healthcare? Because that appears to be what you're saying, if you expect America to pay for the care of foreign nationals.
It doesn't need to be that drastic. Illegals in other nations (mine, for example), simply pay for any treatment they require. They're not eligible for free healthcare, because they're not citizens. They're no different to foreign tourists, as far as that goes.
Are you not Members of the United Federation of Planets ? What about the Universal healthcare initiative ? Does it not apply to Aliens of other systems that are member Planets ?
That sounds like a pretty good argument to me..... but....... they key could be sending them a bill..... and being merciful about collection of what is owed?! That could be done for all citizens..... if flaws in central banking policy was better understood by the majority of citizens.... https://www.michaeljournal.org/articles/politics/item/abraham-lincoln-and-john-f-kennedy
For an EMERGENCY, yes. In my country, aliens are given EMERGENCY care at EMERGENCY rooms, but that's it. They will not be treated at an EMERGENCY room for a NON EMERGENCY. Plenty of other (paid) services they can call upon for non-urgent care. To receive free non-urgent care at a hospital, you must produce a 'medicare' card, which is only available to citizens.
You make some good points that are worth considering. Also, something often forgotten--doctors take an oath to treat those in emergency situations whenever & wherever they happen to find them BEFORE they qualify them for insurance, citizenship, employment, etc. The more we care about and for each other, the better this world will be.
