These are all covered. If your brain injury or birth defect renders you unable to function, you're covered.
1) no we don't. we don't provide such boons for anyone else, so why should we provide it for people who chose to make a mess of their lives? besides, there are already shelters which operate under those conditions, and the homeless very often avoid them because of those conditions. that's how we know it's all a choice. anyone who genuinely disliked their situation would be absolutely fine with those conditions if it meant getting off the street. the great revealer of intent is welfare. if it's offered, and you don't use it to better yourself, you cannot be taken seriously. it means you have no intention of improving your life .. and it also means that all those allies and advocates who claim that's all you want, are either liars or useful idiots. probably both. 2) rent is high because of 'greed'? what in hell do you think asking for free stuff is?
A solution might be to set up places for them to live in an area with lower costs of land and a lower cost of living. (I mean, if you're going to spend money to do this, the money would stretch a lot farther, and cost less, if you moved the problem to another area and delt with it there)
I agree, government run housing (very basic apartments) would be helpful maybe even government run trailer parks, help them purchase their own mobile homes once they get a job as an upgrade to the apartments, rent to own, fail to pay, lose the home and back to the apartments give people a path to a better life
This will not give them a path to a better life unless they choose to walk that path. That you think most would, shows how little you understand the cause of homelessness. Hint: it's not 'society/govt/rich people'.
Most of those people aren't simply down on their luck - they're drug addicts and shelters do not allow stoned or drunk people or those who act up and lash out, for obvious reasons, so they end up in the street. What they need is treatment.
I read a study several years ago that suggested roughly one third of them have alcohol or drug issues, and one third have diagnosed serious mental health issues. I'm sure there could be a bit of overlap between those two groups, so that means the number without alcohol/drug or mental issues may be slightly more than a third. Looking at a few of homeless interview videos, some of them have simply given up after something very (and understandably) traumatic happened in their lives. One young man, his wife and only child died simultaneously in a car accident, and for several months he was in too much grief to function. Another older man with a successful legal practice, his business partner ran off with his wife and all his money and were never seen from again. (they had also forged his signature and taken out loans against his house without his knowledge) He lost everything and was devastated, and at this point in his life he was too tired to make it all over again.
Things that happen every day to others, yet the vast majority who experience such things, don't end up homeless. Come on now ... you know full well that 'incidents' don't make people homeless in America. These people are doing it to themselves.
There are times when the problem is simply too many individuals all clamoring for too few resources. In such a situation the only option is to balance the two by removing the excess number of individuals from the equation. Nature does such already with regard to the animal kingdom, perhaps humans should follow the same example, and stop deluding themselves into believing that every life is precious and worth saving.
Verse#? Liberal politicians should be required to allow illegals to live in their mansions behind walls, and the people who vote for them.
I'll gladly bet that I can provide at least one verse - but only as long as you agree to leave this forum forever. Deal?
Hey Fatback - why did you disappear all of a sudden? C'on, are you gonna take me up on that bet? Funny how these right wing America haters always run away when they are faced with their hypocrisy.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! As always, another right winger QUITS in the middle of a debate. But it is no surprise given that these right wingers are so full of hate and so closed minded. This is about the 4th or 5th time that I have offered a bet to a right winger but each has always quit when they saw that their claims were hopeless. Par for the course on this forum as we patriots defeat these right wingers every day. By the way for those who may not be aware, right wingers owe me $70,000 due to bets they have lost to me. I am still waiting for those monies.
Wow, that's really childish. Like I said, I have a life and ran to the store. I'm here now, to what debate are you referring? Bloviation is not debate. And, cool story!
^ desperation have you changed your mind about that bet? won't cost you much ~ just leave the forum when you learn how you lost
You failed to say what we were debating, you just declare yourself a winner and then go on to change the subject. Like playing chess with a pigeon. I guess you don't know how bets work. When did I deny anything you said other than your ridiculous claim that lots of liberals allow indigent illegals to share their homes. Care to prove that or leave forever?
