Not quite sure, why no one has picked up on him. For some the messiahs of free speech, for others a traitor. As our government has its head that deep in the Yanks ass, it is fair to say they can't stand on their own legs anymore to make a independent decision. So I say, bring him home.... Cats
He is neither, Just an idiot activist who thinks he is above the law. As for the Americans, not sure what they can charge him with... he is an embarrasing Australian... I say he should face his crimes then send him home.. Nobody is above the law...
I don't have much love or hate for the bloke. I do think he has been treated ridiculously, and as we are a puppet state of the US we have given him very limited consular support. Heck, we are a Five Eyes nation, we are in the belly of the beast. What can you expect?
SP, I can't see an advantage of having everything exposed of government dealings, however when it comes to war atrocities, committed by our own soldiers or our allies, we need to know. In that respect Assange is a hero. However, as you pointed out, our government (both Labor or Libs) is week and far too reliant on the US.... If you happen to be Australian and in some kind of trouble overseas, you are obviously doomed. Reg.
Umm WIKI-LEAKS exposed war atrocities. While Assange is part of wiki-leaks, he is not wiki-leaks. I think the point here is that those others in wiki-leaks are not having the problems he is... Doesn't that tell you something???
Crap, there is so much information and knowledge (thanks to Assange) out there, only a deaf and blind man would doubt it: https://israelpalestinenews.org/jul...e-crimes-of-powerful-actors-including-israel/ But I guess you don't wana hear that anyway, isn't that the case? Reg.
So what is crap??? You claim Assange IS wikileaks??? Now that is crap. As for the premise that Wikileaks have released information on atrocities, I don't deny. I simply believe ALL the people involved should be given credit for their work. But hey, it obviously doesn't suite your agenda to give credit where credit is due... Who wants to ignore the truth??? Go figure.
Yes, Assange is head of wikileaks, thought you would know that by now. And others are involved too, that is certainly correct. However the important question remains, how come that whistle blowers are persecuted, while the perpetrators aren't? Guess you wouldn't know who the bad ones are? I say give Assange a medal and put Howard, Bush, Trump, Erdogan, Xi Ping, Putin and others behind bars until they rot.... There is nothing like commu anymore, even those places like China and Russia are as far right as they can, so you get my drift? The new & old *right* is bad! Reg.
That is an interesting way to ignore that fact you tried to lay some crap on the world and got caught out again. But again Hate to burst your bubble, Assange is the figure head of WikiLeaks, a group who was created from a partnership. He made himself the figure head and claims all the credit for WikiLeaks, which is crap as well… BUT hey, why split hairs, after all, the others are just nobodies aren’t they… Assange can no way be described as a whistle blower. All he is doing is putting the results of others effort (the real whistle blowers) online. I have always maintained he is just glorifying himself off the back of others. His dumping of secret emails on the net could well have seen many people die and for what, just so Assange could pretend he is higher than others. There is always consequences to such acts and others are paying the price. He hides to evade paying for the consequences of his actions (or lack of it). Who are the bad ones??? I would think, those who use other people’s efforts without consideration to the impact on the rest of the world to glorify themselves are bad. Those who don’t consider the safety of others (their lives) just to take a stance on ideals of how they think the world should operate in their own isolated notion on how things seem to appear… And still people are starving in the streets… Get the picture??? I still say, he broke the law and should face the consequences. It doesn’t matter if you or he agrees with the laws, he is not above the law, simply because he doesn’t agree with… even if he was a whistle blower(which he isn’t), it does not make him above the law…
Hell hath no fury like the political and elitist establishments exposed for their stupidity and incompetence, and I truly fail to understand how anyone can demonize him for that . . . except those whom he exposed. Indeed it's so irrational that it's something I'll never understand, not least because it took a lot of courage to take on the rich and powerful in the public interest, but that's exactly what he did? Looks to me like a case of idiots supporting and keeping other idiots in high office.
