Despite Trumps incessant campaign meme.... there is no indication that Mexico has paid for the wall, or that it will pay for the wall. It appears that the wall is being paid for via the pentagon budget. And as I understand it, the 4billion in “emergency” funding is going to buy about 100 miles of wall.... less than 10% of the full project.... which trump originally estimated at 5 billion.... then upped to 10 billion. So... the performance on this issue is —-the wall has not been built immediately (or even started) as promised —-the wall is not being paid for by mexico as promised —-instead, the wall is being built by funds looted from the military budget I am curious to know how people (mostly trump supporters) feel about this now Vote for as many options as you like And add comments for options i did not include
Considering he has had to run a gaunlet of political judicial rulings from people who should be thrown off the bench, I think he has been doing as well as he can. The liberals have proven once again they are traitors and opose the securing of our National Borders. I think they need to answer for that in the next election...
It has never been completed. “Immigration is the weapon by which countries are stolen from its natives”.
One only needs to look at the political posture of the left to see what stands in the road of progress- or even sanity for that matter. Most president make promises and never get around to them. Trump has been doing everything possible to keep his; while the democrats are doing everything possible to make sure he can't.
Mexico will eventually lose so much revenue in drug sales to the USA that in at least some sense...... they will have partly financed it...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartel_Land
Oh Dennis, Dennis Are you really saying this? So... When someone PAYS for something.... some one else receives money Which is not happening You can test this concept Go into a store , pick up a magazine But do not pay for it And if security objects You can explain that eventually you will lose money from reading the magazine, but not working And this lost income is equivalent to paying for the magazine There is another problem with your rationale When someone pays for something.... it costs them money And unless you are making the ridiculous claim that mexico is the same as drug cartels... Then MEXICO is Paying... the cartels are paying But, there id yet one further problem with your post Cartels have been around for a LONG TIME And we have been trying to stop them for an equally long time And, frankly, we have not been successful despite our best efforts So... is it reasonable to presume that this time will be different This time we will stop people who routinely kill anyone who impedes their ongoing business Dennis... do you want to have a bet whether THIS TIME we stop the cartels? I think that is as likely as mexico paying for the wall
Democrats say they are not for open borders, yet they do all they can to fight a border wall...a moron can add it up.
At this time America may well be in the beginnings WWIII and it is an economic attack at this time........ FORGET IRAN, IRAQ, UKRAINE THIS IS WHERE WWIII STARTS... China, Russia, Iran, George Soros and all his buddies in America and in all nations see the USA petrodollar as the major weakness in the USA military superpower status......... Although Mexico is a terribly flawed ally..... they are actually a crucial ally in the objective of keeping the USA petrodollar as the strongest reserve currency on earth....... The Wall will be built..... and Mexico will be much more willing to pay for it once they see President TRump re-elected......... Mexico is so corrupt they cannot back up their own currency properly.... so they depend on the USA to do this for them...... in a sense President Trump and the USA have Mexico in a position where they must do what America really wants done...... Within a decade Mexico could even be really into some variation of my Alternative Wall Theory which could well save the cities of New ORLEANS, Miami, New York, New Jersey and many more....... tens of billions of dollars in the cost of building sea walls, dikes, levee's and sump pumping stations........ What do you think of my Alternative Wall Theory? I do believe that the Cartels will be stopped.... and I do believe that a lot of progress will be made over this next decade...... A USA - Mexico wall will be an important part of this happening....
I'm sure many took the "Mexico will pay for it" to mean they would write a check. More likely, Trumps idea was to recover the cost from Mexico by other means, such as changes in trade agreements, and perhaps a tax or fee on remittances. Mexicans in the us do send enough American dollars out of the country and back to Mexico, to pay for the complete wall- every year. It is the nations first or second largest source of international income, competing with tourism and oil. I suspect tourism is low due to violence, and oil is low due to world price- that makes the cash being drawn out of the US (about $25 billion annually) number one. Of course the drug cartels are a major source of flow too, but not one officially recognized. Since the cartels control 80% of the country (by admission of the Mexican government) it would seem very logical to construct a wall to help reduce the inflow of drugs, and the outflow of drug money. As the old saying goes, there is more than one way to skin a cat. However it is near impossible to get them organized and acting logically- especially if they are demo-cats. What ever Trump planned, the dems have stepped up to make impossible.
I do not entirely disagree with you But would differently conceptualize the situation We have been in a situation of unrivaled economic supremacy We have entered a competitive situation And.... we have a competitive disadvantage We regard our government as not being a player in this competition ..., more like a referee insuring fair competition between the players The chinese in particular regard their government as the quarterback and coaching staff in this competition ... and generally disregard our referees as just our coaching staff Basically, we are going in to the superbowl with no coaches and players who do not feel like they are part of a team That is not going to go well From an economic perspective.... yes And, mostly you are correct.... since none of those places poses a military threat, we are devoting excessive resources and attention to places that are less concern for us.... and largely ignoring our economy.... which we sort of assume will remain predominant despite being ignored. Dennis.... imo we are over confident in the idea that free market capitalism is inherently superior.... and that the most free market system will therefore triumph. China is testing whether this idea as true.... and the indications are that a team with a coaching staff will beat a team with no coaches, no uniforms, and each player is in his own. This sounds weirdly conspiratorial... george soros is a capitalist and not on a team with any country The petro dollar is important.... but mor important is keeping CONFIDENCE in the dollar Current policies of unrestrained deficits undermine that confidence You are dreaming Mexico is a proud country.... they will NEVER pay for the wall They are just like any other country.... their citizens expect the government to do things like build roads, etc. no one in mexico wants their government to pay for the walk. NO ONE How do we do this?d Every country has its own currency.... To some extent.... like keeping refugees in camps in mexico, and stopping refugees from entering mexico. But there are limits Frankly i do not understand it, and therefore cannot evaluate it I think most Americans forget that other nations are as proud as we are In the same way that we would not accept being bullied by another country Other countries will resent being bullied by us Sometimes people would rather fight a bully and suffer the consequences rather than submit to the bully. I know that for me personally, i find it extremely offensive when i feel that someone thinks they can bully me You can believe this.... but so far, there is precious little supporting evidence. I do not dismiss the possibility of a wall having some impact.... particularly on refugees and undocumented workers walking across the border. But when there is a large economic motive.... smuggling is always the result. The simple fact is that most drugs are not smuggled across the desert. It is just not all that feasible to smuggle tons of product across that terrain Btw, the most cumbersome drug is marijuana.... and the direction we are currently moving is to remove the smuggling profit through legalization.... which, BTW, IMO would work for many other smuggled drugs
The promise was that the wall would be built and that mexico would fund it. It was a promise that only the dimmest bulbs would have thought could be fulfilled. Even dumb as sh** trump probably laughs at you rubes.
The problem is that some Democrats are not for open borders and some Democrats fight against a border wall. When we think of such things in terms of all/none sort of binaries, we make problematic generalizations.
So what do you mean? That the Native Americans had no right to complain about being culturally enriched by the newcomers, or it was a tragedy for them?
I don't know why it's such a mystery as to how Trump intended for Mexico to pay for the wall. He had it on his campaign website and had a list if immigration proposals: Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards – of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options]. We will not be taken advantage of anymore. The problem, as has often been the case, was the GOP Congress, which in some ways seemed to oppose Trump more than the current Democratic one. Paul Ryan was opposed to a wall and made sure we wouldn't get one.
You think it's in the same class as free health care, free college, rebuild the nation or die in 10 years, stuff like that? There's ways to make people pay for things even when they think they aren't. You are doing it now, because government uses that ploy everyday.
One area in which America is absolutely unrivaled is in the production of films that earn tens of millions of dollars and get watched in all nations after they are subtitled............ Please visualize Greenland as a stage....... President Trump's offer to purchase Greenland in my opinion can set in motion something huge and we Canadians are greedily scratching our heads about how we can profit from assisting him in this...... (OK..... some of us anyway)....... The Greenland 2019 melt and forcing M. P. Andrew Scheer and M. P. Bernier to cooperate? "If average ocean levels rose by eight to ten cms (3 or 4 inches) could high tide... ... rise by one meter in the Isthmus of Chignecto in Nova Scotia, Canada? This question is logical because the geography of Canada's Bay of Fundy produces the world's highest tides. In my part of Nova Scotia in Guysborough County there is very little funnelling of tidal waters......... so high tide is only about one to one point five meters above low tide. In the eastern area of the Bay of Fundy high tide levels are up by ten to fifteen meters." .................. If it is true that the eastern area of the Bay of Fundy between Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Canada and the State of Maine is the most vulnerable real estate on earth to the threat of rising ocean levels then we Canada have no choice but to think out side of the box and at least discuss ways to potentially put a comparable amount of desalinated H2O into deserts.... as is melting off the land based Greenland Ice Pack..... and the West Antarctic Ice Sheet... and the world's glaciers.......... With seven hundred and ten trillion dollars in the world's Derivatives markets as of 2014 this idea of diverting a trillion into one thousand replicas of the massive Israeli 'Sorek' desalination facility kind of rings a bell with people....... If this works........ If this idea takes off....... Mexico could begin to look at large scale desalination as a worthy place to invest some of that money that they have taken in from Americans...... http://www.politicalforum.com/index...illion-dollar-problem.525406/#post-1068713597 M. P. Bill Casey... President Trump has a 4.3 trillion dollar problem.... It is theoretically possible to turn a huge percentage of the population of Denmark into reality, documentary, news and even semi-reality science fiction film actors playing roles..... set perhaps even in an alternative theoretical 1939 - 1945............ Denmark and Norway saved most of their Jews from the Nazis........... we can figure out some way to work with them...... surely.......
Well, various claims are made, but, with the exception of Sinema of AZ, you can accurately predict the position of every Democrat policy maker or Left Wing press outlet with the assumption that they are for as much illegal entry as possible.
