The stimulus checks to be mailed to unemployed American workers homes was held up as our ego maniac president wanted his name to appear on them, they were given his final approval on Monday. This is the first time in our nations history that a presidents name will appear on IRS checks.

Do you even live in the US?
First several waves of payments will be via direct deposit. I hope you realize what this means.
Next problem - payments aren’t issued by IRS. They are issued by the department of the treasury.
And last part of the absurd claim - checks are printed on fully blank paper, not preprinted checks. The name change would literally mean typing out Trumps name.

    Total thread fail!

I thought it was having filed a tax return in IRS tax year 2019 which is the basis for receiving a stimulus direct deposit or stimulus check. Those who filed electronically with their bank info will get stimulus direct deposits into their bank accounts first because computers can do almost all the work. It will take untold man hours to get the paper checks to people who have them coming, which is a slower process, and the people who earned less than $10,000 will get their paper checks first, less than $20,000 next, and on up like that with the highest earners getting their paper checks last.

Being unemployed, employed, won the state lottery, or lost it all playing dice now in tax year 2020 has nothing to do with stimulus checks. The stimulus "checks" are entirely grounded in tax year 2019.

They are Treasury checks the IRS does not issue checks and the vast majority here will be direct deposit, no physical check.

Never made my check out to the IRS. In my lifetime it has always been the US Treasury which gets you check, and US Treasury goes on the payee line. The US Treasury also issues your refund check -- if you paid in too much during the year. The IRS just prods you along and convinces you to write your check to the US Treasury. The US Treasury is the money department, the IRS is just the enforcer that has no money.

The Commissioner of the IRS is a peon way down under the Secretary of the Treasury, a cabinet position.

Yeah, If you filed your taxes direct deposit, you’re not going to get a actual stimulus check.

Damn it. I will likely not get a check. If I get a check, I will not spend it. I will frame it and put it on the wall. I don't need it and it would be funny with Trump's signature. If they dump it into my bank account, then whatever. I may donate it to a local Food Bank.

Pelosi delayed them to get Leftist $ for non-virus related items.

it will be electronically signed by the President, all you have to do is print out your bank statement to frame it.

I get direct deposit but wish I did get a paper check with Trump's name on it. I would never cash it, just frame it, and in 150 years I could sell it as a valuable historical paper with Trump's signature. But with my luck everyone receiving a paper check would have the same idea.

"Pending IRS TREAS 310 TAX REF ACH Entry Memo Posted Today "

You can put it with those "Speedy recovery - Re-elect Hoover" pins for a matched pair.

    Fantastic. That'll rustle some jimmies.

It should say "From the hand, and the heart, of Donald J Trump, President of the United States of America." on the Trumpbux checks.

That'd make 'em squeal like pigs.

It'll be funny to watch them cash them with tears in their eyes, but cash them they will.

That is terrible. I would refuse to accept it.

Or, you could send it to me. My bank would get rid of it for you.

I admit I was wrong - apparently Trump does want his name on the checks.
I still fail to see how this would cause delays, even if checks are preprinted - they had plenty of time to reorder new blank checks while Treasury is processing direct deposits.

Also, I must admit, Trumps desire to put his name on the check when he is not even authorized to sign them is kinda childish. I fail to see the point as absolute majority of payments will not involve any checks.

It's a simple gesture which will further enrage the Trump haters. Enraged Trump haters do dumb and irrational things which benefit Trump(see: Joe Biden for President).

Must be some kind of evil plot, where you are forced to see the name of the man who put the idea up in the first place will appear on the free money you get. Perhaps the idea is that it will be so repulsive to the radical left that they will refuse the checks, leaving more for the deserving Americans who are trying to keep the country on track. I suspect that despite the agony of endorsing a check with Trumps name on it, you will find a way..... whining all the way to the bank.

The delay could be caused by having to modify the software for a single use. His name won't be on all Treasury checks so some with have to use special software and some not. That takes coordinating.
