I've often wondered why the Bible doesn't talk about dinosaurs if it is a record of the earth's history and the emergence of life. The FIRST thing in it is the story of human origins and it never mentions the dinosaurs that walked the earth for over 180 million years. Hows come?
According to the Creation Museum dinosaurs roamed the Garden of Eden. https://creationmuseum.org/dinosaurs-dragons/
The Bible does talks about dragons which share a lot of similarities with dinosaurs. It also mentions the Behemoth in the book of Job which fits the description of a sauropod. Even scientists speculate that the dragon legends that is prevalent in every culture came from people stumbling upon fossils they dug up.
They predated man. They were just another form of life as god was having a good time creating by evolution millions of different life forms. Reckon god figured there was no need to mention his hobby. And they were long gone anyways! The stories and myths told around tribal campfires were just that and not science.. That the faithful think the bible is science is silly. Many more astute Christian people don't see science involved. If they believe in evolution to them that is just the means god used to populate the earth with the miracle of conscious life. Science then is man's attempt to explain the methods God used.
Makes sense. Dragons were Dinos. Many cultures had stories of a life ending flood. Probably dates back to the sudden melting of an ice age sheet a couple miles deep. Flooding and 400 feet of sea level rise!
The term Earth in Hebrew has around six different definitions encompassing everything from the entire world, to a region, to your own plot of land....they are all referred to as Earth. When the Bible says the Earth was flooded that could mean any number of things but doesn't necessarily mean the entire planet. In fact there is geological evidence of massive flooding in and around the area the Bible took place during that time. As for the dinosaurs, well there were simply part of the process that God used to create us.
There's been some speculation that Behemoth, Leviathan, the Tannanim, and Rahab were based on dinosaur fossils. I think it is more likely that they refer to mythological animals or modern animals, but it is possible, I suppose.
Actually, there is plenty of evidence over the entire earth that a worldwide flood did occur about 4,000 years ago. There are sediment rock layers all over the earth that are the same and with the same age from a violent flood. Check out icr.org. Type in flood and enjoy...
It might also be related to the fact that many cultures live near bodies of water that might flood them under certain circumstances. It would only take one or two such events to create stories passed down for centirues or even millenia. In parts of Australia there are indigenous tribes with stories that are clearly about volcanoes, though the volcanoes in question have been inactive for up to 10,000 years.
Yeah, could be, although I prefer the global flood caused by the sudden melt of the ice age ice sheets . From an impact on the ice sheet that also killed off mega mammals .Or from the sun going crazy as it rained lightning and only caves provided shelter. Some kind of cataclysm.
