All correct and true. Remember his principled refusal to challenge the 1960 election even though all parties (including the JFK campaign) were convinced that voter fraud in primarily Chicago and Texas would have given him the election because he did not want a likely constitutional crises.

You made the charge. Don't say things about people you can't offer evidence of.

Our normalization resulted in shipping jobs over seas while they torture and still imprison their citizens and it all culminated in them exporting China Virus to the U.S. and the world. Yeah.....I have a "slight " problem with all of that! With the help of greedy American Corporations, they rip off Americans every day!

Doubtful. Nixon was far too much of a centrist for this era of conservatives but one thing for sure is democrats would still summarily reject him even though he was everything they demand a Republican should be.

I made a passing comment. But I also gave you the evidence. Now it's your turn. Admit that there is evidence that Nixon is a criminal.

    Go!

Opening communication and trade with China wasn't a bad idea but since then both democrats and republicans have let China walk all over us with bad trade deals and weak foreign policy. Trump is attempting to fix that.

What you presented in no way shape or form backs up your allegation that Nixon was "a corrupt SOB"..
    Not even close.
Time to admit your false allegation has come.

And does this seem like a corrupt SOB?

Does a President who commits crimes sound like a corrupt SOB? Are you really asking me that?

As I said, if you compare him to Trump, Nixon would probably look like an altar boy. Calling Trump "a corrupt SOB" would be an understatement. But that doesn't remove the fact that Nixon was one, as I have shown.

I may not ever again see any class in the presidency if Trump is re-elected. But stop changing the subject. I just need you to acknowledge the evidence I sent that Nixon was a corrupt SOB.

You challenged me, I met your challenge, now it's just a matter of you admitting it. Stop dancing around and do it!

It was a cover up attempt involving abusing his power. It was Article II of the Judiciary Committees impeachment and the one that would have ended him.

Paranoia and corruption are really bad problems to have in a president. But with a president like Trump, Nixon doesn't seem so bad.

    Ok, good things.

I guess it is more efficient to give money to the states than have the federal government try to manage it in every state. But a better idea is to keep the fed out of these issues. Like leaving education completely to the states without the fed giving the states money, and make the states raise money through state taxes rather than using federal taxes.

Yeah, but he kept it going too long after running on ending it. He even expanded the war at one point.

And our trade and good relations with China led it to be a global-superpower that is catching up to the US while basically a totalitarian dictatorship.

I guess that is all good stuff.

Going to the Moon was all good. Too bad we got bored with the moon and stopped going after a while.

That is certainly a good thing.

    Good stuff.

    Good.

I don't think 18 year olds should vote. Better to raise the draft age to 21 instead.

And we have seen what a mess these Native American lands have become.

I think everyone kind of hates him not just democrats.

I know Trump is doing his best to fix it, but the cat is out of the bag. It would have perhaps been the harder thing to do.....but in hindsight, we should have isolated China. I agree, we let them walk all over us, BUT, we consented to them oppressing their people and that was evil as well.

That’s the narrative but your own post admits he di a lot of good things.

get your point and our policy with Cuba doesn’t make that mistake again.
In hindsight it’s easy to say that was not the proper path but at the time war with China was a fear and Nixon calmed those stormy waters. It was possibly the lesser of two evils

Nixon did some good things, and he did some bad things. His biggest mistake was normalizing relations with China. And we are paying for it now.

He got elected on the LIE that he had a secret plan to end the war in Vietnam period which was to bomb the hell out of innocent people and getting another 15,000 American kids killed for nothing. He and Jay Edgar Hoover broke the law all the time going after anti-war people. Google Tommy The traveler, that's when my college caught an agent provocateur working for the FBI and the sheriff's department who got two freshmen to blow up the ROTC office. He was also rumored to have been at Kent State when their ROTC building went up. Never investigated of course. Most of his great achievements were simply things that were going to happen anyway he was a brilliant politician. Who ruined respect for the president and our government that lasts today....

That’s very interesting and quite admirable. I knew he had some good qualities but I didn’t know about this one.

But as you say, he was ultimately a piece of **** who deserves his place among the ranks of the biggest piece of **** presidents.

I disagree. Nixon was a radical leftist compared to today’s right. Nixon would hardly recognize the GOP. He’d have to see the movie idiocracy to understand what has happened.
