I'm not a fan of that philosophy. It's a total cop out. You want rule and order while pretending to disdain rule and order. If you truly don't feel American, though, then you are not why I started this thread.

When are you moving to Somalia?

not sure about that, but he is afraid of becoming an alcoholic due to his brother, but some say he does do some uppers, so who knows - to each their own

He didn't torture them(or cause American deaths though that one is more debatable), that distinction belongs to their parents for making them have a dangerous trek in the first place.

I doubt that your were aware of the philosophy or if you were, understands it.

Look around...does this look like order to you? Riots? A constant state of war that has lasted 226 out of 244 years since America has existed? What you have now is not "rule and order". No I believe in the natural order, and I think it far surpasses what we have today.

I thought you started this thread to discourage people from celebrating what is happening to the President, presumably those fellow folks on the left that believe in "rule and order" like you.

    Yeah.

LOL, now there's one I haven't heard before.
    (/sarcasm)

You do understand that Somalia has a central government as well, right?

...you actually believe in self ownership and freedom of the individual. Cool, I'll gladly claim the mantle and join some great men who were called the same.

Civility is always a trait to display. Although pointing out the obvious isn’t celebrating. This man’s recklessness has placed the country in dire straits and that should be apparent to everyone now that it’s punched us in the face, again.

it’s tragic that a dem staffer for the Gov if VA spread it around. With that said, i think it’s noble of our president to take the hit, get the antibodies and use his own immune system as a blueprint for the doctors to create a cure

There’s no science denial lol. The ONLY way for herd immunity to work IS IF YOU GET THE VIRUS. He’s not denying science lol. He’s engaging in it. He will recover, just like the VAST majority of people who get this virus. He will develop antibodies and become immune.

That is what is SUPPOSED to happen.

Which means there would still be a power void.

Your post shows an extremely limited view of our "institutions".

If Trump were to die, it would be a tremendous blow to our institutions. Yes, the justice system would receive the worst blow, but our republican democracy would also suffer immensely.

If Trump is not prosecuted for whatever reason (dying or corruption), our system of justice might never recover.

Your Hillary-Trump conspiracy theory is laughable and explains quite a bit about your posts. But doesn't help your credibility.

No. Their parents saved their lives from either imminent death or an assured life of crime, maybe working for drug lords, or child prostitution... or something of the kind.

Seeking asylum is a legal and universally recognized right of every human being. Our own laws recognize that right. Trump attempted to dissuade people from exercising that right by torturing their children. But that is a whole different topic.

This is precisely the type of science denial I am referring to. Not to mention uninformed nonsense!

The only way for herd immunity to work is with a vaccine.

That’s patently absurd. Do you even know what herd immunity is?

I like the premise of your thread. Nobody should celebrate anyone else's illness, no matter whether political friend or foe.

With that said, apart from one or two odd posts, I haven't seen anyone on this forum celebrating Trump getting covid. Maybe you could provide a link? Maybe this is happening more on facebook, twitter ("news" sources I don't follow)?

What I HAVE seen on here is a lot of people saying that nobody should be surprised that Trump got the virus. If you play with fire, you get burned. That's what parents tell their children. There is no harm reiterating this to Trump and his followers who have been willfully ignorant (and irresponsible).

I'm not celebrating, but I'm not going to say I have any sympathy for Trump or any other dumbass that denied the science around COVID-19. They made it a source of pride to flaunt their ignorance and now they're paying for it. What's that phrase so many conservatives seem to like to use? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes? Well Trump won bigly.

For the sake of the country, and for his family members who would genuinely miss him otherwise, I hope he recovers. His getting sick has not tempered my disdain for him and what he's done to our country, though.

He's not wrong, it's customary to talk about getting herd immunity through a vaccine.

No country is going to let the disease burn through their country unchecked if there are things they can do to control it. That is just Right wing nonsense trying to deflect from Trump's egregious failures.

Absolutely. Even opened a thread about it showing why it is unattainable in any other way than through vaccination.

    Do you?

I'm sure you don't, and you haven't even noticed that you don't.

Unattainable? Remind me again what vaccine they used for the Black Plague

Are you under the impression that herd immunity ended the black plague?

Do you have another rationale? Same thing that ended the Spanish flu.

No rationale needed. We already know why the black plague ended. It killed 100,000,000 people over the course of what, 7 or 8 years? You could do 15 minutes worth of research and get these answers.

Oh God! What an absurd comment!

The Black plague killed about 60% of the population of Europe. Do you know how much 60% of the population of the U.S. is?

    Over 200 million!

Besides, the black plague was stopped by killing the main spreaders of the disease: rats. I vehemently oppose killing Republicans!

Quarantining ended the black plague. There's no time for herd immunity to naturally develop for a disease with such a high mortality rate. They burn out, instead. The Spanish flu didn't fully go away. It mutated and became part of the seasonal flu cycle, which is now mitigated by vaccination.

That’s because it had a >60% death rate.So tell me, why didn’t it kill everyone? Why didn’t it kill people who had already caught it and survived? It wouldn’t be because they developed antibodies would it?
