And the UN continues to show why it has little relevence and has become the New York country club for some highly paid "diplomats' from foreign countries. It's like the Nobel Peace Prize at this point. To put these countries, and there are others with equally bad records, on the Human Rights commission is a slap in the face not just to the free people of the world but even more so the oppressed and suffering for their human rights.

"Secretary of State Pompeo said the move validates the decision by the U.S. to leave the body."
    Yes it does.

Daddy Mike is proud of his lying and cheating and stealing. He gives a very bad name indeed to Roman Catholics. He and Brennan both.

The UN has been a joke for a long time and this should be the final straw that gets us out of it.

The two party system has been a joke for a long time, but nothing is going to change until the whole thing implodes on its corrupt self.

Ah yes, our Orwellian world. We starve people in countries like Syria and Venezuela for putting in those who won't do our bidding, and refer to nations enslaved by us as the 'free world'.

End the UN and let us war without hindrance.

    Onward glorious soldiers.

One of the most courageous and interesting political leaders up here in Canada has suggested that we leave the U. N. His name is Mr. Maxime Bernier.........

I personally would like to see the U. N. kicked out of the USA.........
    and something entirely new created.....

This will give you an idea of what I have in mind......

Can Israel pull the entire world economy out of a possible Bear Market, another 1929?

I thought the thread was about leaving the UN, and since the purpose of the UN is to stop wars, I think my post is appropriate. The thread also mentioned the 'free world', which should imply the nations that are free to do their own choosing and are not under our dominance. Yet in our Orwellian speak, the thread implies that nations under our dominance are free, and that nations not under our dominance are not free.

Anyway this is a discussion forum so opposing views are allowed.

Welcome to our Orwellian world guys.

The UN has prevented a great many wars. Unfortunately, Clinton was the first to start a war without UN permission and on false premises. The intent was to break up Yugoslavia. From then on we became a rogue nation and began destroying one country after another - especially in the Middle East.

Anyway I don't believe in a one world government, and I certainly do not believe in a UN controlled by a powerful nation, or an alliance of rogue nations - as we have proven ourselves to be. I'm a firm believer in small city/states, because the smaller the government, the more freedom and rights people have. The larger the government, the less freedom people have. I see it as an enslavement.

Can the UN insure that every nation no matter how small will be free to do what it wants and retain its own standards without outside pressure and interference, then that would be fine. Anything else would not be.

I read a pretty powerful case that that war had a lot to do with diverting voters away from a scandal, (specifically Monica Lewinsky). What do you think of that theory?

Could it be that the U. N. was lured off course for political objectives by an American political leader?

Do USA political leaders have that much power over international bodies such as the United Nations?

I think the US and other wealthy countries such as Saudi Arabia have a lot of influence because of the money they contribute. As for the Yugoslavian wars I mentioned, I know that Bill Clinton speaks fluent German and spoke to the German Chancellor every morning. According to a French General who was at the meetings, it was Germany that had instigated the break up of Yugoslavia and started the wars.

What I noticed with Germany, is that it leans towards nations that were its former allies such as Croatia, Bosnia and even Turkey. This worked to the detriment of nations that were our own allies such as Serbia, and who suffered genocide at the hands of the Croatian Ustashe in WWII. In Clinton's break up of Yugoslavia, Germany trained the Croatian troops, and a quarter of a million Serbs were thrown into refugee camps.

Later, when Clinton broke up Serbia by supporting the KLA Albanian terrorists in Kosovo under a pretense of a non existent genocide, another quarter of a million Serbs were thrown into refugee camps. Since Serbia had always been close to Russia, Vladimir Putin saw it as an indirect attack on Russia and began to rebuild its military might.

I don't know of any President that did as much harm to this nation - and by extension the world, as Bill Clinton.

Actually I think it is more likely that we evolve into a one party system - the worst case scenario.

Effectively we already are a one party system. Political theater would have us believe we are a 2 party system, and some believe it.

I've seen more than a dozen different countries mentioned in this thread. Guess which one holds the largest fraction of its population forcibly incarcerated?

Most of the countries which were elected to the UN human rights council do not believe in human rights.
    It's a sad sad joke.

Yes, as proved by the atrocities the USA has committed against not only people in other countries but its own population.

It implies nothing of the sort it states directly that nations such as China and Cuba and Russia have no business on a "human rights commission" and we should have no part in an organization that would grant that to them. Welcome to the real world.
