The final result for the over budget spending for 2020 shows we overspent the projected budget by $3.13 TRILLION, more than twice the prior record of $1.4 TRILLION set by the Obama administration following the 2008 recession. Our National debt is now well over $27 Trillion and may reach $28 before year end.

Wouldn't overspend be a sign of some appropriate reaction to the pandemic?

400 billion of it was interest on Obama's Quantitative easing (you didn't think that money was free, right?)

Hahaha! Thats feeble. Why don't you try and defend your free money comment? Surely, given your Econ 101, you will refer to money illusion?

Hahaha, spamming now aren't you? Lets ask again. Are you applying Friedman's 101 or are you going to give something more relevant?

61falcon would have preferred that no stimulus checks went out and then he could have complained that people were starving to death.

So you're saying that the government's role is very much about stimulus when required?

The same one as an unbalanced budget. The only difference being who gets to decide how the money is spent.

I don't know what "naff" means. Perhaps there isn't an english equivalent.

Yay! If only Americans united and held government accountable. While we are busy fighting among each other, they spend like thieves with stolen credit cards.

I referred to your comment "balanced budget". Could you give an economic rationale in terms of what that means? Cheers
