If Biden goes over 270 AND THUS can legally claim to be President Elect of the United States...
You better go on your hike.

Because Trump is just beginning his ''campaign'' to deny Joe Biden as the next American President. No surprise.

~ Those votes were done and tabulated almost immediately - not dropped off in the middle of the night and "counted" under guard. Florida did it legally.
~ Well you know ... that's what children do. Besides without this
:roflol:´ some would have no communication skills at all.
    Sad ...

Strauss and Wehner are political Legends in Germany. Their debates in parliament were sharp and ruthless blunt.
They never minced words, must see TV.
Schmidt Schnauze, a Legend, true to himself to the last day.

There is a lot in shambles in the country we live in, the US, from health to schools to infrastructure to social problems. The US has to unite and roll up its sleeves, or it will be left behind

The point is: the fossil-fuel based economy remains filthy - as proven by the fact that when you shut down the economy (an experiment forced by the pandemic) , the air magically (!) becomes clean again, in high traffic density urban areas (where most people live these days) .......regardless of how filthy it was in the 70's.

"Congratulations Mr Joe; meanwhile we will continue to implement our 5 year plans, while observing the dysfunction of your neoliberal private-bankster funded system with its unresolved contest between the public and private sectors, which we resolved once and for all via a civil war in 1949.

That is a rather good question.
Most folks in the US forget it is not just about the Presidency, its about that huge rock which is hanging over Trump. His businesses and the loans and the need for further loans and his legal problems

Awesome. I have been camping and hiking up in Dolly Sods and it is beautiful. I also happened to see the biggest, burliest bobcat in my life up there, too. Fortunately, it didn't take any interest in me or my girlfriend otherwise it would have torn us to shreds. I have a friend who had an unfortunate encounter with one of those critters and it took 40 stitches to sew him back up.

We're very fortunate to live in such a beautiful area - I wouldn't trade it for the world. I've camped, hiked and canoed up and down our mountains from Grayson Highlands to the James River Gorge to Harper's Ferry.

Have a great time, bro. I may have to give you the Spanish Inquisition when you get back. I've been thinking of going up into the hills next week myself. :)

A Bob is just a kitty. You need to meet a real cat, a Mountain Lion, that is cat.
Several years ago I was working on the fence. One of my dogs let out a bloody scream. I grabed the shovel and ran screaming towards the bushes. Kitty had one of my dogs in her mouth. She saw me coming with that shovel, screaming, dropped my dog and hauled ars.
About 250 lbs of golden beauty.
Took a hour at the vet to stich that dog together again.
I have Bob, Lion, Lynx and some good sized bears

We did Grayson Highlands/Mt Rogers about 6 years ago... saw the wild ponies... great hike, although no view from high pt of Va...

Tomorrows hike looks like @ 6.6 mile out-and-back with little elevation... my favorite kind, as I'm built for flatter hikes.. heh heh....

Thanks for putting the bobcat thought in my head though... my wife already thinks we are nuts and that wouldn't help. She's done several of the Sods hikes with us, but not in the mood tomorrow..

My kid will be off to college next fall (hopefully), so I'll store up these memories with him...... (cue Cats in the Cradle)

    Sigh.

The places that are still counting were denied, by their legislatures, mostly republican, to begin counting early. They had to sit at the post office they arrived at until election day. Then they had to sort them to get all the ballots to the right districts.

The dropped off votes are votes. This is how elections work. We count the votes.

    Sheesh.

I personally know about a dozen that I've met in the eight-ish years I've been here, I've PM-ed them several times and they me about our profession and such - and we've ended up talking on other forums and suchlike. This may surprise you but in an online community this size there are bound to be many. Shocking, I know. Heck, despite your (feigned) lack of knowledge you do know at least one teacher for sure, LangleyMan - although he IS still posting about as much as usual so I'm off there. You also know others and a quick search proves that. I haven't seen LM about lately but the few times I come online I must peruse different threads so I must keep missing him.

Well, if it means anything, I'm glad for you that you finally got one prediction right.

That's just obsolete neoliberal economic orthodoxy, which in fact is why the US - and most democracies - are hopelessly divided.

The Right talk about "progressives wanting free stuff".

Guess what, you CAN have an economy that works for all, as stated on the Sanders/AOC platform (including minorities, rust-belters, blacks etc) , though Obama did not have a clue, or was blocked from achieving that goal, which is why Trump was elected (as Trump himself says).

[And to suggest the US lacks the resources to build the required solar/wind farms backed by pumped-hydro/battery storage - to implement the GND - is simply absurd, even if some resources need to be diverted from the vast junk consumer portion of the economy.]

Trump himself has now been destroyed by neoliberalism which engenders a false dichotomy between 'economic health' and 'medical health' in a pandemic, and the need for postal voting to maintain social distancing.

Note: a sovereign currency-issuing government can support a locked-down economy for a finite period, by directly funding* the living expenses of the non-essential unemployed workforce, during the pandemic. Hence all those "freedom" protests, driven by financial stress, are unnecessary.

*without taxing or borrowing its own currency from the private sector.

~ As far as I know the requests were denied. Nevada in particular was in October. Early counts - late ballots mostly Democrat. People denied access to witness. I think we see vote integrity going down the toilet .

    "Every vote counts "

Absolutely none of this is true. You're not understanding how votes are counted is a you issue.

Every state tabulates their votes in a different way, starting with how they get sent out.

Some of these states in play were not even allowed to sort the returned ballots by district before election day. Each PO is sitting on thousands of returned ballots and they are just stacked up.

So, on election day, they start sorting them to get to the right place.

Then the extremely lengthy process of opening and verifying the ballot begins. Each of these numerous steps is overseen by both a democrat and republican.

This is what Trump wanted. This is what the state legislatures gave him.

In Florida, we counted the mail ins as they came in. Our mail in numbers were the first reported. This is why Biden had an early lead in Ohio and Florida, but ultimately lost because we knew the same day votes were going to trend Trump.

In the states that couldn't do any prep, we knew that Trump would have a huge early lead, but once all the mail in ballots came in, the race would tighten up.

Now all the republicans are whining that it's taking too long and they are always finding new votes.

That's how Trump WANTED it. They aren't "finding" new votes. They are literally counting votes that have been sitting there for weeks, untouched.

That will depend on several factors one of which will be how will pardoning the biggest LOSER-in-Chief play out with the electorate in 2024 when Pence-L-dick will be the front runner for the GOP candidacy. While it might ensure that he becomes the candidate it could have a negative repercussion among the Independents who decide elections. Ford made that mistake.

It is YOUR biggest LOSER-in-Chief who is the "vengeful, corrupt creature" who ABUSED his power in office by committing Crimes Against Humanity that YOU have never bothered to address.

There's no chance that Pence is the front runner in 2024. He's less animated than Al Gore and Dan Quayle.

When asked about his personality, I think about drywall.

There is zero evidence to the contrary.

Fox News personalities: Trump says he has a lot of proof of fraud. We sure would like him to share it, because we haven't seen it.

The sheer scale of the fraud needed makes it impossible. You'd need thousands and thousands of workers in on it, because who knows which state will be the battleground. It's silly from the start. A conspiracy involving thousands of people working nonstop and making pennies? Lol....

Have a chat with Occam. He'll tell you.

YOUR biggest LOSER-in-Chief criminally INCARCERATED small children when they had committed no crimes whatsoever.

That Crime Against Humanity justifies sentencing YOUR biggest LOSER-in-Chief to LIFE imprisonment without parole.

    Incorrect, Obama built those cages.

    Obama imprisoned them.

You will never get Trump to go to prison. You dont have the strength.

YOUR biggest LOSER-in-Chief has clearly demonstrated a DEPRAVED indifference to human life to the tune of hundreds of thousands of American lives.

Lock him up and throw away the key!
