Its not incorrect. Electors don't vote for the president until Dec 14 this year. All you have right now is a projection of how they should vote. The election so far was just to select electors the vote for president hasn't happened yet.

I see a call for elected officials to be held accountable to the American voter. I see a call for their opinions and actions to be documented and remembered, and when it comes time; I see a call for Americans to make decisions on who will represent them based on their records.

I’d imagine that would just result in some form of impeachment hearings, and if the president elect were removed then the VP would take their place. Same result if the senate had votes to remove Trump from office.

The electors going against the will of the people would irreparable damage the faith of the American people in their political system.

 

You can use any example you like but its a grace period to help ensure the people didn't make a rash decision which the founders were extremely worried about. Only around 90 times have electors switched their pledged vote and it never changed the result.
