You're arguing for the Herbert Hoover program when we need an FDR. US jobless claims surge Hunger and evictions surge in the US
Your information sources are utter trash. The reset is a plan to deal with Covid, and the damage it is doing. Poor countries are getting hammered. We used to help with that sort of thing. And if you're going to go full on tinfoil hat, just say 'One World Government', and get it over with.
First, cook it slow, we're talking under 300F. We cook ours overnight. Second, you want to keep putting turkey stock in the bottom of the pan. Super important. Third, get a rack that looks like a bunch of Xs welded together. Do at least 60% of the cooking time upside down, and then flip it rightside up for the remainder. You need a good meat thermometer, pop ups don't cut it. My turkeys are never dry.
This is an interesting take on MMT. https://stephaniekelton.com/paul-krugman-asked-me-about-modern-monetary-theory-here-are-4-answers/
You might wish to take a look at this. https://www.rawstory.com/2020/11/fauci-says-pfizer-moderna-vaccine-data-is-solid/ The ONLY good news in this pandemic is the arrival of vaccines which are very promising. They are the product of free market enterprise. Collectivist or state run efforts to fight the pandemic such as lock downs have failed massively. They are also the cause of the massive increase in unemployment and evictions. This virus has irrefutablty demonstrated the absolute failure of socialized or collectivist efforts and proven that the free market triumphs.
The virus has irrefutably proven South Korea is really good at this, and, for a weeks more, we really really suck.
Being retired it's more a aggravation for me, but I really feel for those who work. The whole "who's not essential" charade is so scatter-brained I'd swear they put names in a hat and drew them out blindfolded! In my small town several popular restaurants, here for YEARS, have folded for good. But we must give the government kudos for their "generosity", why you can take out a "low interest loan" for your business and go FURTHER in debt before you go under. I hope future historians call out this era for the circle-jerk it is.
yes, its not consistent at all. Like I said in an earlier post, I needed new running shoes, the local shoe store was required to limit patrons even though they had 2000 sq feet, plenty of room to spread out, then rules changed and they had to go to "by appointment only" but the liquor store next to them had a constant flow of traffic in an out all day long. Old tyme pottery opened up in the middle of a lockdown because they had some smart lawyers arguing successfully about "essential" but mom & pops don't have a team of lawyers on retainer.
Probably be better to know nothing and worry less. Just chant "You'll own nothing and you'll be happy," and convince yourself that you will be happier renting everything and not owning any private property.
Prob better to know something that isn't utter BS... https://www.amazon.com/Price-Inequa...id=1605902839&sprefix=stiglitz,aps,162&sr=8-2
I'm willing to be fair and say that both perspectives may have some level of truth. I'll also point out that the Left is just licking their lips to use the Coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to boldly implement their policies. But we can also look at the Irish Potato famine. Supposedly, it was caused by the potato blight, but in reality that was only the very tipping point, the final straw. Those masses of population were already in a bad situation even before the blight, so poor they couldn't afford wheat and had to subsist off potatoes; they were in a bad position to be able to deal with a potato blight. We've known for a while now that many Americans were in a bad financial position and would not be able to deal with a temporary loss of income well.
I agree totally, why they don't just flat out GIVE the money to people is beyond me, since servicing such debt over the years actually costs more than the debt principle to begin with. Do we charge people whom we liberate from a tyrant in a war?
the op is blaming Biden, guess he forgot Trump is still president, nothing Biden can do and even when Biden takes office, he still has to deal with a republican Senate that doesn't care about the people, they only care about the stock price
~ I believe this has been in the works for the last 40 years - since Jimmy Carter gave away America to China and Papa Bush proclaimed a "new world order". Trump's unexpected election really put the brakes on things. ~ I hope that it is " hearthealthy " .
Congress to go on vacation despite lack of stimulus bill - Axios "The bottom line: Elected officials of both parties, including President Trump, are failing the country. Not only by not succeeding in getting new stimulus passed, but by no longer even trying."
The establishment doesn't like Trump because he puts the ugly face on ugly policies. He's a terrible salesman, unlike his predecessors.
I heard back in mid april how stretched thin the working poor were. 1 small stimulus in months and the news told me today how stretched thin the working poor were. Ummm, ya... Does that make anybody else wonder?
A stimulus is intended for a short term recession per Keynesian economics, when there is unused production capacity and resources. Trying to keep an economy going via borrowing money that is paid out as a stimulus when there is diminished production capacity seems like folly to me.
One thing liberals can't do is change the laws of economics. If Biden implements a shutdown like he promised our economy will never recover.
Crony Capitalism, as opposed to real capitalism, can only be sustained for a certain period by the Government. Then it will collapse. Biden will reward his crony capitalist friends, suppress real capitalism -- and the result will be an epoch disaster.
