Everything he said will happen under his administration is already happening. We were having outdoor bar-b-ques last July 4th. Trump promised "enough vaccines available by June", so Biden says everyone will be "eligible" by May 1st, but may not be able to get a vaccine by then due to supply.

And still, a scripted speech is not a press conference.

Exactly. This is certainly one of those times. The government is busy fighting a pandemic and stimulating the economy. The last thing we need at this point is to politicize the ARP before it gets moving, which a press conference would bring. Biden is wise not to subject himself to this at the moment. Psaki is handling the daily pressers adequately, which brings up another of your points.

Yes, it's not rocket science with this administration. Covid briefings three times a week. WH daily pressers. Other agencies as needed. The difference in transparency is night and day from the previous administration.

    And this is hilarious:

“What is the purpose of having White House News Conferences when the Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile questions, & then refuses to report the truth or facts accurately,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

So, you don't know then. Figures. You don't know anything about senility, either.

You know who's senile? This young woman:

Still doesn't change that we in fact heard from the president.

It was a 24 minute speech. Could have been a little shorter. He wasn't there to answer questions, and he walks slowly. Scampering off is what they did to Pence on the 6th.

We've "heard" from President Houseplant multiple times.

He still has not giving an open press conference. Agree or disagree on that point?

Not only that during those 300 days his press secretary wouldn't speak either.

I for one don't miss the childish lambasting twitters of name calling and throwing of temper tantrums every five minutes. Having a quiet adult in the white house going about the business of the country without the 3rd grade schoolyard bullying tactics is, shall I say serene.

Trump never much gave press conferences. He just stuck to twitter where no one could ask questions or contradict him. Where he had sole, full power.

Now with all the MSM being fake news and in the Democratic Party's pockets, at least according to Trump and his supporters, it wouldn't do any good to have them as all Biden would get would be softball questions like what did you have for dinner.

I always found it strange and this goes back for the last 10 presidents or so, it is always the out of power party, the opposition that are always calling for more press conferences. Then complain like heck when they are held which only the MSM gives softball questions.

Glad you sort of acknowledge we're "heard" from Biden....

Agree he hasn't had an open press conference. And? So what? If you have some emotional attachment to seeing presidents have open press conferences then I guess you will continually be upset.

Joe is declining rapidly. It's obvious and only partisan sycophants are still making excuses. I'll be surprised if Kammy isn't given the big chair before Fall. The only unknown at this point will be how they choreograph the transition. Oh... and who the Tan Messiah chooses for Kammy's VP.

    51. The White House is trying to substitute "appearances" and "statements" for actually standing up before the American people and taking question and giving answers about his policies and actions and plans and beliefs on important issues. And he DARN WELL needs to be the one on the phone with other world leaders and not the VP.

I got a pandemic to deal with, here-- 100 million vaccinations in 60 days! C'mon, MAN!
And there's the economic crisis, with millions of Americans left on the tracks, with the train of ending assistance measures barrelling down on them. Meanwhile, the opposition Party wants to talk about Dr. Seuss-- Come ON, Man!

Here's the deal: there was a WHOLE LOT to do to prepare, but my predecessor kept me & my people locked out for as long as he could. And when we finally got here, we found a sh_t-show! None of the planning, that anyone would expect, had been done!
But now we've got a huge aid package through Congress, we've immunized more people than ANY OTHER COUNTRY-- even though we were holdin' up the rear, when I got here-- and now you want me to do a press conference?
    C'MON, Man!-- I need a freakin' NAP!
