I don't have ICU coverage. If theres a convenient way to tell hospitals 'do not treat me without my consent to pay', I'll sign up.
Get DNR tattooed across your chest. But there are a LOT of conditions that will land you in the ER without the ability to communicate your wishes
A tattoo across my chest is not convenient. If someone volunteers to render aid to me while I'm unconscious, I will of course seek to repay them fairly for their samaritanism ...but if they instead seize the opportunity to gouge me for everything I'm worth instead of just letting me die, they'll find out how hard it is to squeeze blood from this stone.
I doubt you will be successful and I suggest you start reading some reports of people who have had to declare medical bankruptcy in the USA. I am an Aussie - I get my hospital care for free
We have them too - not as many I will admit since Australia has passed the 80% mark for vaccination But at the moment we have huge reservoirs for infection around the world - reservoirs that have already produced deadly variants of this virus. America, due to its low vaccination rate is one of those reservoirs.
You 'get hospital care for free' so what business is it of yours 'who is paying for the care for the unvaccinated?'
Great post! You know the arrogance of some people is amazing. Once they get sick, then it changes everything in their life. It's called life experience and once they experience it then it's a life changer for the rest of their lives.
When the American Hospital Association bribed all the State legislatures to enact enabling law to allow hospitals to sell health insurance without complying with any of the State insurance regulations and to grant them monopoly power so the hospitals don't get sued for anti-trust violations, the AHA swore up and down that the negative economic impact of monopoly power would be offset by all the free healthcare they would provide to low income patients. As you can see, it's not really an issue, since the AHA promised to pay for those costs.
I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. Are you saying that unvaccinated people shouldn't get healthcare?
Due to the Covid relief bill passed in 2020, the government is picking up the cost for treatments and hospitalizations for the uninsured.
Huge reservoirs of infection in the vaccinated now. The two travelers that tested positive for Omicron were vaccinated.
oooh thats prolly why my last antigen test was 'free'. I told em I'd pay cash and they said 'no charge.' They prolly just billed it to to the govt...
No, you don't. Rather, the government of Australia is taking money away from people who are total strangers to you (ultimately at gunpoint), and using that money to pay for your hospital care, which in reality you ought to be paying for yourself. IOW, you're a freeloader. There is no such thing as "free" anything, except air. Why are you here, anyway? Does spreading liberal ideas like they're a virus, hoping against hope that you'll have even the slightest chance of changing the laws in the Greatest Country to ever exist on the face of the planet turn you on in some way? Or are you just trying to sit here and say "Nanny nanny boo boo, we're better than you!!" Because in either event, it's not working. Not only does it not affect you in any way, the way we govern our Country is really none of your business to begin with.
