Finally, the Democrats, Republicans and the independents agree on something. A recent poll by the Schoen Cooperman Research figured it out. And it's deeply troubling. They all agree U.S. democracy is "at risk of extinction." Fifty-one percent, all told. TRENDING: Court ruling could force Facebook to dump 300 million users from service Now you might be saying, "Of course, Democrats are complaining about a war on democracy – yet they are the ones who are actually waging it!" And you would be right. This is actually what unites 49% of Democrats with 100% of the Biden-Harris administration and Democrats in Congress. We see Americans unable to get along, to put it mildly. We disagree on how to vote fairly and with integrity. We disagree on free speech. We disagree on the Second Amendment. We disagree on how we treat our children – meaning should they face death before they are born, or even after? We disagree on whether or not we need police and whether we should prosecute crimes on the books – including crimes involving immigration. The polling showed widespread pessimism and distrust had increased through 2021. read more: https://www.wnd.com/2022/02/us-agree-u-s-democracy-risk-extinction/ Democracy as we know it is at risk. Our constitutional republic is under direct attack by the bi coastal secular progressive elites. Our rights, freedom, liberty are their enemy #1. Joe Biden and the democrat party are the ones targeting our system for extinction.
This kind of comment is why democracy may be under strain. It is heavily partisan, heaves buckets of blame onto one side even as you complain about disagreements which IMO are not the cause of an erosion of democracy but is the natural dual vision of a better way of life which democracy decides who at some moment agrees and who doesn't. Democracy thrives on disagreement...otherwise you have a totalitarian system of government. Would that make you feel better? ISTM you are just peeved that someone doesn't agree with you.
It actually amazes me that with Democrats being the ones in power, they are the ones claiming that democracy is under attack. Seems to me the solution is to put Republicans in power.
I'm beginning to feel that people would rather have things to be outraged about than to take even a small step to make things less contencious.
Up until very recently, Republicans didn't even acknowledge that democracy existed. Now we are supposed to believe that they are the "defenders" of democracy???? Projection is right on queue to when the leader of their party tried to become a dictator.
First make allowances for Covid. I expect most of the world is feeling pretty pessimistic these last two years.
That is correct! They assume that any prospect of their losing an election is itself a threat to democracy
They may lose 300 million members over it. I think the EU is wrong here as much as I like Facebook to suffer misfortune
The party that thinks a coup attempt is “legitimate political discourse” lecturing others on how to run a democracy? Get out of here and get a better argument. Has the OP ever actually condemned the violence on Jan 6th?
It kind of makes no sense. When they win they question the election. When they lose they question the election. Before the election even happens they question the election. They are ALWAYS questioning our elections and yet they refuse to let others question elections. Then they try to take Trump out so that he can't run, bypassing the will of the voters because they question democracy, issue government decree mandates and forcing Americans to carry papers or get fired from their jobs, and then they say Republicans are trying to take our democracy away.
There's nothing democratic about this congress because this congress is fervently ignoring the wishes of the American people and instead pushing forward with congress' agendas. To the poster who showed the meme of the capitol hill rioters, the capitol hill rioters were the actual democratic group and there wouldn't have been a capitol hill riot if congresscritters had paid attention to the wills of their constituents. Side note: Quite frankly, I think congresscritters are afraid of what might happen to them if congresscritters don't mouth the agendas of political elites seeing what political elites have done and are still doing to Trump and his family.
An EU court decision throwing out a deal between the EU and USA over how European Facebook users are dealt with within Facebook. Facebook said it would more likely withdraw its services from the European Union than make all the changes the court demands.
What EU Court? The only EU court is the European Court of justice which is only mandated to adjudicate on legislation decided by the EU. What deal? What for are xxx to be "dealt with"? Who are to be "dealt with"? Under what EU legislation? You don't make sense.
