FoxHastings said: ↑ THERE IS A CUT OFF POINT ....viability. What ??!! So you think a ZEF is viable from conception ....and then at some point it isn't !!!! What!!! Have you looked up the definition of "viable" ? Or "gestation" ?
He's right. It just depends on your definition of "viable". Most all of them could become babies and survive, if only given the opportunity to grow and gestate. FoxHastings, what does you argument ultimately come down to? You define "viability" as needing a specific human being, isn't that correct? And why do you think that matters? Because you believe that specific human being shouldn't have to be responsible. So isn't that really all of what your argument is actually about? How about there is a shipwreck and a small child and a woman manages to escape on a boat, but the child is not hers. They make it to a deserted island. If the woman does not help take care of the child the child will die. You probably do not believe she should be under any obligation to help. Heck, you probably believe she should just be allowed to butcher the child and cannibalize it, because she's not going to help and the child is going to die anyway without her help, so she might as well turn the child into a meal for herself. That is the same as Abortion!! Yes it is. Think about it. It sounds different, but all the logic is the same. (I'll even walk you through step by step if you are unable or just too mentally obstinate to be willing to see it)
NO, ANOTHER STATEMENT BY YOU HAVING NO BASIS IN FACT . Seems the only way Anti-Choicers can think they have any kind of "point" is to "misinterpret" what others post.... She doesn't. NOW ANTI-CHOICERS CLAIM WOMEN EAT THEIR ABORTED FETUSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, I never agree with your sci-fi youtube video ideas....LOL
Okay, now imagine the woman was the one who had lit a fire on the deck to toast marshmallows, and that was ultimately the cause of the ship sinking, when the fire got out of control. Still believe she shouldn't have to go out of her way to save the life of that child? I expect you're going to tell me there's a difference between wanting to toast marshmallows and having sex? If she wants one, she can let the child die, but not if she wants the other?
Isn't that what the woman does though? You claim it's not wrong to kill the fetus (in a most brutal manner, btw) because the fetus is going to die anyway if it is removed.
NOW ANTI-CHOICERS CLAIM WOMEN EAT THEIR ABORTED FETUSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course you can't show where I ever said that....just more Desperation "MISINTERPRETATION " from an Anti-Choicer.
Then you DON'T believe the woman has a right to kill it just because it would not survive outside of her? Are you admitting that is not an argument you try to make?
FoxHastings said: ↑ Of course you can't show where I ever said that.... ..and NO, I do not have to pick one or the other because you say so....try posting some facts for a change( and not "misinterpretations" of what I posted) and then we'll see what I CHOOSE to pick... But it's pointless if you just keep claiming I said something I never said ....and THAT is all you have
"Viability" does not really mean anything and is just yet another example of unactualised potential. All that it means is that a fetus could survive outside the woman's womb and most often only with intensive medical attention. So, a "viable fetus" is not really anything more of an individual than an "unviable" one and "viability" is something that also keeps- and will keep get earlier and earlier as medical technology advances. The right to live begins at birth. Always.
You do know that one of the most common (if not most common?) method for abortion is a chemical/hormonal one completed with pills, right? But, if you are concerned with the brutality of abortion, you should not be for a ban because that would definitely lead some crazy blacl market brutality and desperate acts done in the privacy of a woman's home.
So are IFV clinics that flush fertilized eggs down the crapper. So are snowflake babies, leaving them to gradually rot in cryogenesis. There are WAY more fertilized eggs than anyone in this world actually wants.
