sometimes I think those in power over exaggerate things I am just giving you a view from someone who had personal experience.. take it or leave it
You don't have any personal experience. I've known people who abused these drugs. I think the only point you're making is that you are naive.
This doesn't really say anything. Consuming alcohol isn't being prescribed drugs. It doesn't even indicate any problems. I've had beer before and it's not because I'm depressed.
Actually, it does ... what is one of the major contributors to family abuse - which leads to depression? Alcohol. How the hell do you think you have the right to control women if you don't even understand men?
Why do women get prescribed meds in greater numbers than men? Are men too ashamed of their mental state to seek help? Do we still have macho men? Wait a minute! I just looked at the date of the article: 2011. Now I know why. It was because Obamacare didn't come into effect yet. It might have been passed, but it took a few years for people to be signed up for actual plans. Before that, mental health problems would be considered to be pre-existing conditions and an automatic ejection from the man's health insurance plan. But, I would imagine that a man could get his wife joined to his company policy and hope and pray that the business insurance pool was large enough for his wife's condition to slide past the insurance company.
Alcohol lessens anxiety and offers a pleasurable recoup from a stressful day. It's harder to truly relax without it. Which is why I stopped drinking my nightly wine....I was depending on it.
Um, maybe women shouldn't be being prescribed all this medication? 1 out of 4 persons of a certain gender sounds excessive.
Same (my work, that is), and it's all true. I stopped working for 20+ years to raise our kids. I'm now back at work part-time (a very comfortable two shifts a week), and it's actually a pleasure. I could never have worked while raising three kids, growing the family's food, looking after animals, and maintaining several houses and lots of land. I'd have lost my mind within a week. It HAD to be strictly on my terms and my schedule .. all of it. It's the only way to run an 'operation' of that scale .. complete flexibility, and without interference. I think this last is where it goes wrong for a lot of women. They don't make themselves the locus for what's happening in the family. They perhaps think they are because they might be 'successful' in their corporate job, but in reality they are spinning other peoples' plates .. even the husband who expects her to come home and do housework. Women need to reclaim their place as actual heads of the household ... and their male partners need to acquiesce that ground to her happily, so that he can get on with his stuff without being hamstrung by diaper changing and shoe shopping.
yes, I know people that abused alcohol, I also know those that don't you need to open your eyes to all points of view, my personal experience is just as valid as yours
I became a stay at home mom when one morning I put put my toddler girl in the car, set my briefcase in the car and my purse. Backed up the car and ran into something. Suddenly...I realized I had put my baby...in his carseat...down beside the car tire while finagling things and had forgotten to put him in the car. I experienced fully...the horror of killing my child...before I found I had ran into a trash can. He was fine...just forgotten. From there I discovered my greatest joy...focusing 100% on my kids and family..
What personal experience? The one where you don't see people abusing drugs? That's lack of experience.
I rarely consume alcohol but I do it sometimes. It's not a problem for me. I don't think I'd be dependant on a glass of wine a day.
the ones where I was prescribed the drugs and gave my experience of them I also said, yes, I know people that abused alcohol, I also know those that don't
I agree. I saw a headline in the past few days about a study that found that antidepressant drugs might not work at all. I look forward to whether or not that reaches a consensus in the general medical science community. It's going to take a while.
Personally...I believe that article bogus. Sometimes jogging will do the trick to get those endorphins pumped. Sometimes medication is needed. Chemical imbalances CAN happen.
It's all over the news. Just because it hasn't (yet) been featured on the New York Times doesn't mean it's a fake article. Here's a good source: Depression and serotonin: Review questions decades-old theory (medicalnewstoday.com) Oops, here's the article. It's true. And long known, to be honest. Only those with a vested interest in not addressing root cause, and pharmaceutical companies, believed the BS.
And neither could men IF THEY were ever forced to do it all. So if women aren't perfect then THEY should be barefoot, in the kitchen, giving men an easy peasy life??? Why do WOMEN have to choose between family and career?? To keep them "in their place" ? Maybe being the ONLY ones to have to make that decision is what is causing the stress
Correct. Because this would be in the interest of all concerned. Man [woman] makes his [her] own hell in this world. Btw, you think that men have such an easy life? Why all the suicides?

I don't think this way at all, but this is how you believe men think. Societies that prioritize family are successful; those who do not are not successful. It basically comes down to that.

Duh, I did not say you thought this way....I asked QUESTIONS (as denoted by the squiggly marks at the end of the sentences) Questions you could NOT answer What TF that has to do with the sexism you're talking about ? Are you saying ONLY women should "prioritize family"? (there's that squiggle again) What do you mean by "successful"? Women as servants?
