In Russian bot twitter and Telegram channels there are new explanation why things in front are not going well - they again are in war with all West, not with Ukraine. So, I guess local bots soon will start to move this kind of position here too.

It is very funny.

One of them is running about claiming Ukraine has an army of 1.5 million full of NATO soldiers. Its like bad comedy.

 

...I'm waiting for @Jeannette to start wittering on about Russian forces de-occupying areas of no tactical significance on humanitarian grounds so as to halt the attacks on local people by the Ukrainian forces of evil...

...anyway as you say its rather amusing watching them floundering around looking for a new narrative to hide the fact that their forces are getting a good hiding....

The Russians are doing great.
Judge for yourself - the losses of the Russians are minimal, the losses of the Ukrainians are huge. As for the settlements left by the Russians, this, judging by the previous similar events, is not a problem. Perhaps there will be another boiler for the Ukrainians. We have seen this many times before.
Just look at Kherson - at first the Ukrainians also yelled about breakthroughs and victories, but what is the final result? Mountains of Ukrainian corpses and no results for Ukraine.
And actually, do not forget about the main direction of the Russians - this is the Donbass. What is going on there?
And here a slightly different impression appears - the Russians finally liberated and cleared Soledar, Artemovsk, which are key to the region. And yesterday they took a fortified area near Avdiivka, the so-called "big anthill", where the Ukrainians literally pitted everything with bunkers in several tiers and underground utilities.

How about this. I read an article by someone who might be a Chechnyan because of his unusual name. He said that anyone who believes that the Russians didn't know about the buildup of Ukrainian forces has no military or political knowledge.

We have to give the Russians credit though, that they gave their men an order to retreat immediately so there wouldn't be an unnecessary loss of life. It's something Zalensky never gave his officers, no matter how desperate their situation was.

It was probably intentional though since their policy has always been to give conscripts and mercenaries, only a limited amount of arms and only 2 weeks training - that is if they were given any training at all. By doing this, they could be used on the front lines as cannon fodder, while the men who were trained, would remain in the back and planned their strategy.

The latest is that the Ukrainian advance in Kharkov cost 3,000 Ukrainian lives - which I'm sure made Zalensky happy. After all, the more Ukrainians killed, the more lands could be bought up by such as Soros - who happens to be Ukraine's largest investor. I read that 70% of Ukraine is now owned by foreign corporations.

With a sevenfold superiority in manpower in the Kharkov region, what did the Ukrainian fascists achieve? In fact, nothing.
They did not capture a single settlement in battle. All the settlements where the Ukrainian fascists entered were abandoned by the Russians.
Once again - in battle, the Ukrainian fascists, having a sevenfold superiority and stuffed with all possible types of Western weapons, could only enter the settlements voluntarily abandoned by the Russians. And only then, when the Russians chose to do so.
Count the losses of the Ukrainian fascists. Many thousands just killed. What does this say? The fact that Ukrainians are militarily nonentities.

Destroyer - I heard a long analysis by a writer who said that the Russian strategy is to leave a small force so as to tempt the Ukrainians to attack. This way their army would advance into more open ground and can be surrounded and defeated by the Russians more easily. The author did criticize the Russians though for putting the civilians at risk of being killed by the Nazis after their retreat.

The worse thing though is to have urban warfare in Kharkov like in Mariupol. The civilians there were being held captive by the Nazi contingents and used as human shields. There was one video in Mariupol, where the streets were lined with bodies of the men who tried to escape and were shot. This is what the Russians are trying to avoid.
