Women suffer from periods a lot more than your mother and sisters let on. It hurts a lot and I don't know how they get through it. They should be given time off when having a period and for the entire time of that period. Maybe there should be a law requiring it in work and school. It's about time for the world to become more considerate.
I assume this is parody. Women have been fighting for equal treatment in the workplace. This doesn't do that... I can't think of a single woman I know who would want a man advocating for the notion that their biology makes them less capable of working a full time job. It's the most sexist thing I've heard in a long time.
Keep in mind this was also a reason why employers sometimes preferred not to hire women in the first place. This whole push for "gender equality" can lead to a lot of complications. It would be great if employers could restructure things to be able to be more flexible for workers. But some jobs in some situations simply do not work that way.
Periods are nothing. Menopause though....that's when I need the time off...should be a law women 45+ be allocated an extra week paid time off to deal with lack of sleep, the heat and mood swings...
Stop telling us women we shouldn’t be hired because of our girly needs. Sheesh. Women have been doing hard labor for many thousands of years longer than any challenging job of today. That was before medication existed. Some seem to forget that while men were hunting, women were taking care of the kids, sewing, making meals, curing meat, making butter, doing all the crop growing… none of that stuff was easy.
I would have liked it at the very peaky peak of my sexual peak. I was having orgasms on my lunch hour. It’s literally all I wanted to do. Such a shame men waste that **** in their late teens. 35-40 something is a great time to be a woman!!!!
If it's not actually a real legitimate issue, why then does government need to get involved? You can't claim it's not a problem for women, on the one hand, and then say that government intervention is required to help address it, on the other. Seems like yet another example of feminists trying to have their cake and eat it too...
Huh? When did I say government should be involved in my menstrual cycle? Like literally, seriously? How did you get that from my post ? WTF?
As a man, I would be fine with women not being in the workplace while they have PMS. In my experience as a husband, i would say the few days leading up to and the first few days of the period are the worst, maybe they can come back to work for the last couple of days.
My impression is it's highly variable how bad it is. In some cases it can be bad enough to disrupt work, e.g. with endometriosis, but that should be up to a woman and her doctor. Anybody can make the call that they're in too much pain to work, and they should be under the care of a doctor who can write them a note and give them some aygestin or something so it's not as much of a problem going forward.
Paid time off should be entirely between the employee and the employer. Sure, some women have periods that are severe enough to require time off. Others don't. Others still will use any opportunity they can to get out of work. Men too. That is -and should remain- up to the employer how they manage the balance between respecting when people are legitimately sick and mitigating how easy it is to just **** off from work... Most professional environments require a minimum staff for operation, and if people can't be counted on to show up, the whole operation can shut down. Of course, employers can build in contingency with extra staff, but this reduces efficiency and increases costs, and those costs are ALWAYS passed on to the consumer. Its also worth noting that large businesses have a substantial advantage when it comes to building in contingency, because it far easier to spread the extra work for someone who doesn't show up around between 100 other people than it is to spread it around to just 2 or 3. IMO large businesses already have enough (too much!) advantage over small ones, we really don't want to make it worse. But the simple fact is that more consumers will shop where the prices are lower, not where the paid-time-off benefits for the employees are better. The only real way to change that is by more people shopping instead where the paid-time-off benefits are better (and the products are probably more expensive).
The trouble is, they have it so often and the timing can be unpredictable. It's not like they can conveniently schedule it every other Wednesday.
Dude. 35-40 something babes are finally maybe starting to get a clue and go for cubs instead of old silverbacks.
Where the f are you in your headspace dreaming this bs idea up!? My college gf breezed through her monthlies. And most women do these days. At least the professionals I work with. Not an option for anyone to take a week off every lunar cycle anyway. Stupid unworkable, unreasonable and unnecessary suggestion imo.
Why would an employer ever want to hire a woman when a man can do the same job and be reliable the entire month?
Well, it's easier if you are on birth control pills. Birth control pills suppress hormone cycles. But it can mess with a woman's emotions and bodies in other ways.
It's a long and complicated story that I don't want to get into. But let's just say I have a unique insight into this.
My wife HATES the idea of equality for women! She sees no reason at all to step down from her pedestal!
