It's pretty obvious to me that Tom Brady is gonna play football next year since his nagging ex-wife won't be complaining about his playing time. It's pretty obvious Tom Brady won't be playing for Tampa Bay next year since Tampa Bay really doesn't have the pieces to make championship runs. Where will Brady land next year? My hunch is it will be in San Francisco. Apparently, after Brady retired, there were discussions between Brady and the 49ers. I believe one reason why the 49ers moved off Jimmy G. as starter was because of the possibility of having Brady. IMO, another reason why the 49ers moved off Jimmy G. as starter was because Jimmy wasn't explosive enough or durable.
Brady just got a divorce from his wife for playing football and now you think he should retire?? IMO, Brady is one of the top 6 QBs in the league right now. San Fran won't place a lot of responsibilities on Brady...Just be a little more explosive, be more careful with the football and manage the game when the game needs to be managed (which is a lot with SF). Brady won't ask for much salary. San Fran is close to his family. IMO, San Fran will win a Super Bowl with Brady which appeals greatly to both the management of San Fran and Brady.
Top 6 right now??? He is shot. Would take Allen, Mahomes, Hurts, Burrow, Herbert, Dak over him in a heartbeat GOAT sure, but it is time to go into the broadcast booth As for SF - will be interesting what they do. Do they bail on Lance? Franchise Jimmy G? There may be next to nothing other than Brady on the free agent market (besides Jimmy G), so they may do as you want, but I think it will be a mistake
IMO, San Fran has already bailed on Jimmy G. with the prospect of Brady in between the period from Brady's 'retirement' to Brady's alleged negotiations with San Fran. Tampa Bay just wouldn't let Brady out of his contract with Tampa Bay.
I would take all those QBs you mentioned except for Dak over Brady except Brady manages the game quiet well when he thinks the game isn't on him. Dak is too mistake prone. I almost think the same way, that Allen is also too mistake prone. Brady usually knows his limitations and he has a lot of limitations physically. Brady's one monster great strength is his mind. The 2 times off the top of my head where Brady lost his head and thought he had to do things himself for a team win was the playoff game against Green Bay during the 2020 season (in which Brady threw, I think, 3 interceptions because he thought he had to make the perfect throws to win 'cause his receivers kept dropping the ball) and the last half ag I'd take all the QBs you mentioned over Brady except for Dak since Dak is way too mistake prone. I kinda believe Allen may also be too mistake prone. Hurts is still an unknown. How would Hurts play, for example, if his defense wasn't one of the best in the league? Brady is limited physically but Brady's one monster strength is his mind. No one current QB is better at analyzing a game than Brady. Brady usually also knows his limitations. He's usually a game manager who can do some magic if need be. Thing is, Brady isn't at all comfortable with doing magic all the time. I cite the playoff game against Green Bay in the 2020 playoff in which Brady threw 3 interceptions 'cause his receivers kept dropping balls. I cite the last half of last week's game with Cincinatti. It's obvious to me that Brady has given up on Tampa Bay this year. San Fran needs a game manager who can be explosive at times. San Fran has already talked to Brady. IMO, San Fran moved off Jimmy G. as starter because of their talks with Brady. IMO, Brady will be the QB for San Fran next season when his contract with Tampa Bay runs out and with Brady at QB San Fran will win a couple of Super Bowls barring unforeseen stuff like injuries.
I agree that Allen makes too many mistakes (like in the Minnesota game), but I still see him as 2nd best behind Mahomes Dak's mistakes are what keeps him from being an elite QB. Big gap between Mahomes/Allen and the rest of QBs
QBs Allen, Jackson and Murray will all have reduced careers 'cause their running is too Incorportated in their team's offense. Why does Murray and Jackson run out of steam come playoff time? 'Cause Murray and Jackson are hurt from the contact they receive from the offenses they run.
I have been complaining all season about the Eagles calling too many running plays for Hurts. Complained big time when watching them play the Bears Sunday. Now he is injured and we have Minshew vs the Cowboys
I hated him on the Jags - was ticked when they benched my all time favorite Eagle Nick Foles for him Obviously I will root for him now and then Foles Monday night
Dan Fouts was a great QB. I remember the TE...Who else received on that team? I watched John Hadl and Bambi play.
Oh boy, this thread didn't age well. To San Francisco? I'm pretty sure they're very happy with young Mr. Irrelevant... no need for old Mr. Brady. Nagging ex-wife? His ex-wife was extremely supportive of his career, but I think Tom blew it when he decided to unretire. The sad thing is, Brady lost his marriage for this? An 8-10 season, only able to win a division because the other three teams sucked even more, and then, humiliated in the Wild Card game? Brady played terribly today. I've just watched his post-game interview. The guy looks sad, depressed, thin... seems like he lost some weight. Terrible. People need to know when to quit. GOAT? Yes sure, no doubt. Currently? He's totally shot and it's more than time for him to retire or else he'll damage his image and legacy even more. If he comes back for another season, he'll probably play even worse. Sure, he's better than some of the active quarterback in the leagues, and better than most back-ups. But that's not what we'd like to remember him for: playing so-so, half-decently, for a half-decent or mediocre team, or backing someone up. We want to remember Tom as a champion. And we won't be able to remember him like one as clearly, if he doesn't know when to quit.
I would doubt it of Tom Brady would want to play for the 49ers. 49ers already have had Jimmy Garoppolo lead the 49ers to some winning seasons. Why would the 49ers want Tom Brady anyway?
They Won't... The Vegas Raiders makes more sense: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/n...pected-court-45-year-old-soon-free-agent.html
Sounds like Tom Brady would have a better deal with the Raiders than anyone else. I doubt Brady would bring a Super Bowl title to Las Vegas anyway.
Yeah...IF it happened it would only be because of Josh Mcdaniels... At Age 46 (in 2023) Brady is too much of a dink and dunk QB to make full use of a vertical threat like Davante Adams. Still, it would sell alot of jerseys if the GOAT spent a year in Sin City...
It will depend on Josh Purdy's continuing performance, but I would think, if the coaching staff thinks he is ready to lead, they would prefer to stick with the younger blood, and allow him to further develop.
Ah yes, the young lions will eventually overtake the old lions, as is natural in animal nature -- and also sports. A superb athlete can perform at 23 but not at 93 -- so somewhere in between he will no longer be a superb performer. That unknown number is based on many variables, such as health, his coach, and yes, even his teammates' abilities. It's not all about just one person, there is a reason it's called a team.
