Of course. One problem with being a man made mechanical object is you have no rights whatsoever. That includes the right to identify as something else. You are simply property. It is like getting a sex change operation. Once they chop it off they throw it out. No backsies.
Oh so sorry. Our records currently shows you are a 1990 Aston Martin. As a man made mechanical object you have to rights to re-identify at all. To complicate matters since you were manufactured in the UK and we have no records of you entering the country legally so we can only assume you crossed the border illegally. You must be impounded immediately and potently deported after processing. Thank you for playing "identification has consequences".
The UK is very nice. I really enjoy visiting there. Food is not great but hearty. It rains a lot though, which is probably not good for your paint job and will cause rust.
Well I much appreciate your not getting bent out of shape, over my confusion. Some people seem not nearly as willing, or perhaps able, to take an honest mistake in stride, the way you demonstrate.
The reason we are a nation of overweight burger eaters is because our food is gooood! It's a fair jab to note that America is a fat country, but man, the food is so tasty. The UK is covered with American food chains, but the British have failed, in their quest to colonize the world, to colonize the world's palates.
You don't like fish and chips or apple pie? How about shepherd's pie with Worcestershire sauce? Roast beef and Yorkshire puddings? Steamed syrup sponge and custard? Ps, Hamburgers and Frankfurter sausages, both German.
It is with great sadness that I must agree with you. It wasn't always so. Once upon a "not so long ago" time Britain had Wimpy Bars all over the UK, Africa, and much of the colonies.
'CA Mostly agree, but the McDonald's hamburgers in London are better than ours. It's the damnedist thing; I've taken other Americans there and they agree. You'd think they'd be worse.
Fish & Chips and apple pie are good, but minor players in American, and world cuisine. And you miss the genius of American cuisine; it's not necessary native to this country, but we've taken food from all over the world and made it better. I've had Italian food in Italy, and the US version and the US version is far superior. And that goes for most other types of food. No one does it better.
Generally speaking, I do not agree with you, but ...... pizza! Who makes pizza better than the US? Italy? Forget it! Japan makes good pizza but still, American pizza is best. Swedish pizza (until the Kurds and Albanians started coming over) was the worst pizza in the world. And as far as pie goes .... ain't nuthin' better than an American cherry ~ rhubarb ~ pumpkin ~ or lemon meringue pie ... or cheesecake! In fact, the only thing I like about the States is the food
I think the obesity problem is more a result of our processed foods and fast foods. The unique thing about American foods is it is similar to the history of the nation. America is a nation of immigrants so often our food is our unique take on foods from around the globe. The hamburger you mentioned is the American take on German beef patties. The Salisbury steak version of the burger is a homage to the British roast and gravy. The hotdog is the American version of the German and other European countries sausages. Pizza is our take on Italian flatbread. We just added the awesome cheese part. Beef and broccoli, sweet and sour are our takes on Chinese food. California rolls is what introduces many Americans to sushi even though it is an American thing. Just as the UK has some of the best Indian food outside of India the same is true for the US and Mexican foods. American food is a reflection of the many cultures that make up the nation.
True, dat. I don't believe that. Wrong. UK Indian food is best .... including India. Just as American pizza is better than Italian pizza so is UK curry (etc.) better than India.
Curry is a British invention. The Indians don't even have a word for it. Sure we used Indian spices but Indian food and curries are streets apart.
Yes, they do. It is called ka-ree. Anyway, when I wrote it I took some poetic liberty. Saying UK Indian food is better than Indian food in India was too cumbersome so instead, I wrote, "UK curry (etc.) is better than in India." The (etc.) was meant to compensate for the lack of proper phrasing.
