First one - one parent complained when a member of the PTA did a “drag show” and the most outrageous bit? https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/loc...e-drag-queen-performance-talent-show/1700057/ So school didn’t organise it - nobody stripped and as far as I can tell there was not even panties on show - I’ve seen more than what was described in a gym class!! The second was a video of the first and you do see panties but that was it BTW this was from 5 years ago! Third is NY Post - ‘nuff said but It is a grizzle about money being spent on Drag Queen Story hour - whic not one person has demonstrated to have any lascivious content and really is no different to “Clown Town” story hour without the creepiness Yet another NYP piece - full of outrage when a child was taken to a drag show https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2022/10/drag-brunch-child-04-1.jpg. So where is the outrage about the parents of the child So far this is a spectacular fail
Got an external link, because I have not seen this yet. It was probably up and gone between my times of being on. Not sure why not especially since kids are at topless beaches all the time, especially in European countries. But it happens here as well, not to mention nudist resorts where kids are allowed as well. Nudity in and of itself is not an actual problem to children. Good enough, but it has to be asked given that there is a large number of people who don't actually realize the difference. It was something that actually happened on one of the original airings of The Newlywed Game. Yes I know I'm showing my age. However you still haven't addressed the belly dancing point.
Here is one example, note the dollar bills in the underwear. Spoiler: NSFW https://mobile.twitter.com/TheLaurenChen/status/1543405646049058816 Here is another: Spoiler: NSFW https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/wp-content/uploads/drag-queen-2.jpg There are more events like this with adult themed entertainment in front of children. The above is what others in this thread have criticized DeSantis for filing a complaint over though. And even after seeing that continued to defend them against the government investigating their liquor license terms. Also, I had a better example before, but I didn't find it quickly again and I don't care to search for kids involved in pornography. And, the media complaining about this stuff tend to be conservative and don't want to link directly to it. And, it is often taken down from social media due to violation of their rules. So asking people to show you proof of kids involved in sexually explicit behavior is difficult. There's news stories about it and they're not too hard to find if you search enough for it. In regards to your comment on belly dancing and the beach... you have to go off of legal precedent when it comes to lewd and lascivious laws. Each state will likely have its own standards that the courts would enforce. And, in the event of criminal charges it would be up to a jury or whatever plea bargain is offered based on historical precedent. Note: I'm reporting my own post to make sure it is within the rules of this forum. I don't want them getting in trouble.
First I am going to note that the behavior displayed was in no way what I would consider inappropriate. But I am also one who does not consider topless inappropriate. I'm rather European that way, not to mention that's about the level you can see at a public beach, albeit with a few more strings that holds the fabric over the nipples. The dollar bills are also not an issue because in and of themselves the kids is most likely to have no clue. Children actually care less about most things until adults show them otherwise. Meaning that nothing in and of itself that was shown is going to make them sexualized or imitate anything sexual, at least not that isn't present in other venues with cis women engaged in similar actions. With that said, there is indeed implications of other activities that might not be appropriate. They just weren't present on the film clip. If so, I don't have a problem with laws that prohibit children viewing such activities. I do have an issue if the laws are targeting a specific venue (as opposed to what activities may or may not happen there) or targets specific groups engaged in the activities. I believe in the end, most people are arguing against any laws that target DQ's specifically, and not touch cis women who engage in the same behavior. And if the law is already there for when biological woman engage in such behavior, then the law applies to men as well, and you don't need a new law. Fighting against unfair laws that target is not the same as condoning specific activities.
Tennessee was the first state to update their laws. And, all the law does is include male and female impersonators as part of their list including go-go dancers, exotic dancers, strippers, other similar entertainers, etc. The problem is some people on the left are okay with the above because they're drag queens. The law just points out that it isn't allowed. It doesn't single them out. It's much to do about nothing.
Atta boy. Good little soldier for the latest DeSantis obsession. 'Member of 'White Lives Matter' tried to burn down a church to stop drag show, feds allege' Federal prosecutors allege Aimenn Penny, 20, tried to burn down the church using Molotov cocktails because he wanted to 'protect the children and stop the drag show event' "Aimenn Penny, a 20-year-old from Alliance who is a member of a “white lives matter” group that espouses racist and neo-Nazi views, tried to burn down the Community Church of Chesterland early on March 25, authorities allege in court documents unsealed Monday. Chesterland is a small community east of Cleveland. According to the criminal complaint, Penny said he tried to burn down the church using Molotov cocktails because he wanted to “protect the children and stop the drag show event.” He also regretted that it didn’t work, authorities said. The FBI said the church, which was unoccupied at the time, sustained minimal damage and had scorch marks on the front door. According to court documents, investigators found broken glass from a vodka bottle and a beer bottle each containing a cloth-type material, along with a burnt matchstick and a blue plastic spray bottle filled with gasoline. cont: https://nationalpost.com/news/world/feds-man-tried-to-firebomb-ohio-church-to-stop-drag-show

Yeah. I don't get it. I guess to them, a dad who wears a tiara while reading 'Cinderella' to his daughter is a "groomer" or the uncle who lets his niece gigglingly dress him up as a princess has a mental disorder. I honestly do not think children see "dRaG qUeEn StOrY hOuR" as anything but a fun game of dress up. Don't see how or why it would be "harmful".
Tennessee link: DRAG BAN RULED UNCONSTITUTIONAL snip: 'A federal judge ruled on Friday that a Tennessee law banning drag shows in public or in places where children could view them is unconstitutional, finding that it violates freedom of speech protections. U.S. District Judge Thomas Parker said in his ruling that the law, which Gov. Bill Lee (R) signed in March, is both “unconstitutionally vague and substantially overbroad.”
