step out of your closed BOX and get to health food/supplement stores and get with the GOOD STUFF that will make and keep your immune system strong and HAPPY. I know there are these stores in your country, spend your money for good health, This would be Vit C, Vit D, Zinc, antioxidants like Grape Seed Extract and Resveratrol and more. This is what our bodies NEED.....
Lols! “Evidence Based Practice” is a an unknown country isn’t it? Medical practice has moved to EBP some years ago unfortunately the “health food” industry has avoided doing so
Two countries where health food and holistic medicine are very popular are Denmark and New Zealand. It also used to be very popular all along the coastal region of California, and in Seattle (before more recent times when those areas got gentrified and the remaining social liberals became more bourgeoise in character).
Yes because certainly nothing healthy can come from a nature it all must come from a pharmaceutical company
I don’t know what living in a country that has socialized medicine has to do with anything. The NHS in the UK routinely measures vitamin D levels and prescribes it when levels are not optimal. I know you practice in the Church of Mercola which is why you are woefully misinformed when it comes to vitamins. Vitamin E, vitamin A, betacarotene and vitamin C, after many randomized clinical trials, have not shown any benefit against heart disease, cancer and other illnesses. Moderately high doses of Vitamin A have been correlated with an increased risk of hip fractures. High levels of Vitamin A have been linked to an increase risk of prostate cancer. High intake of beta carotene increases the risk of lung cancer in smokers. Vitamin E excess has been linked to an increased risk of prostate cancer and an increase in respiratory infections, heart failure and the overall death rate. In fact, presently it is not recommended to take antioxidant supplements at all with the exception of people with moderate or advanced age-related macular degeneration — those people benefit from special antioxidant supplements that also contain zinc. Vitamin B12 is recommended to people who don’t eat enough fortified grain in their diet. Folic acid is recommended to pregnant women and for women who are trying to conceive. There is no evidence that calcium supplements benefit bone health and they even could deposit calcium in the blood vessels. Multivitamins are largely a waste of money except for the Vitamin D they might contain. Multivitamins were developed based on a study involving 20 college students in the 1920’s. Modern research shows no benefit. One should be able to get the vitamins their bodies need to function from their diet. All the fuss around mega-doses of Vitamin C turned out to be hogwash. The body gets rid of any excess vitamin C via the urine. So if you take a megadose, your body is always going to use X amount and discard the rest. There is a ton of research out there demonstrating that vitamins aren’t necessary, don’t do much, are a waste of money, and diet and exercise are enough to keep health at an optimal status. Of course @joyce martino — if you can produce some reliable research, I am happy to look at it. I know I will only probably get a few insults and lots of bolded CAPS.
NZ follows EBP like all Western countries the rest is just fads. Yeah taking “Himalayan salt showers” might be in fad for a while but that is it - most of this stuff is really poorly researched pushed by people with a profit motive and little understanding and at best has little to no effect
Lols!Australia doesn’t but here it is more a case of “get out of the sun before you fry!” lols! Agree completely - Joeseph Mercola is a fraud and most of his “treatments” are nostrums https://allianceforscience.org/blog/2021/03/fda-warns-mercola-to-stop-selling-fake-covid-remedies-and-cures/ He is even pushing vitamin C as an “antiviral” YEP, and because vitamin C is ascorbic acid having it excreted in the urine means burning! Esp for girls! But it can also give you some serious gut upset
From nature. Such as the food you put in your body. Tell me how come people and primitive societies that have a diet close to nature don't have such high rates of cancer and diabetes that develop Nations do. Because they actually real food not processed crap and they're not stuffed full of pharmaceuticals and antibiotics.
Nice try. McD-fries in the UK contain three ingridients: potatoes, salt, vegetable oil. Same company, in the USA: 18. Perhaps you should work on this first.
Linus Paulng father of Vit C, has everyone beat for longevity. I've been taking it for 40 yrs at least and other antioxidants as well Naysayers galore out there..
I prefer fresh vegetables and meat from local farmers, no GMO, no petrol based food colors, no emulsifiers, nothing higly processed. If it's okay for you to eat additives, it's okay for me. Tomorrow I will make my own Kimchi, which is a Vitamine C-bomb.
Linus Pauling = Father of debunked Vitamin C science died in 1994 of prostate cancer — so much for his mega doses of vitamin C. https://www.vox.com/2015/1/15/7547741/vitamin-c-myth-pauling https://www.popsci.com/vitamin-c/ https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20161208-why-vitamin-supplements-could-kill-you
People die regardless Vit C or not, keep trying to knock more natural remedies Much...geeeeezzzzz Even YOU are NOT exempt.......
The point is that Vitamin C is not a natural remedy for colds, cancer, or death. It can prevent scurvy. I am simply presenting research that points out it isn’t a miracle cure.
So you think all this processed junk we eat is not more detrimental than a natural whole foods diet? Sugar is not a part of the food groups but you'd have a hard time telling that by looking at the typical diet
~ WEF & Bill Gates say : " You will eat insects , receive mandatory vaccines and be happy . " ~ Congratulations !
Everyone knows a balanced diet is required for a healthy body. I just think pumping your body full of supplements and vitamins is counter productive.
Before embarking upon a mission to take vitamins, minerals and supplements, people should do their homework. They should read whatever they can find, and then read some more. Unfortunately, most don't. They take what an internet ad, TV or a friend tells them. Doses are VERY important - higher that 200mg of magnesium, for example, will ensure you don't leave the toilet for too long. As for fresh fruit and veg - yes, always best. But, sadly, prices are high and many families have a hard time affording the necessary veg and fruit for a balanced diet.
I live in a state and have socialized medicine called the VA, why don't you take yer pills and stop telling others what to do that they already know.
