    “Deception” is fiction? That’s funny.

This is the gain of function issue and @MuchAdo just explained it to you. How come all of a sudden you trust the motives of a politician, namely Rand Paul!? He had better be very careful with his accusations, some real flimsy stuff here! So, basically your case for Fauci lying is based on a senator covering the colossal screwups from their administration!?

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/57932699
"Dr Fauci told the Senate hearing the research in question "has been evaluated multiple times by qualified people to not fall under the gain-of-function definition".

He also said it was "molecularly impossible" for these viruses to have resulted in the coronavirus, although he did not elaborate.

The NIH and EcoHealth Alliance have also rejected suggestions they supported or funded "gain-of-function" research in China.

They say they funded a project to examine "at the molecular level" newly-discovered bat viruses and their spike proteins (which help the virus bind to living cells) "without affecting the environment or development or physiological state of the organism".

One of the US scientists who collaborated on the 2015 research on bat viruses with the Wuhan institute, Dr Ralph Baric from the University of North Carolina, gave a detailed statement to the Washington Post.

He said the work they did was reviewed by both the NIH and the university's own biosafety committee "for potential of gain-of-function research and were deemed not to be gain-of-function"."

Really? Not even quantifying his role in stoking up alternative "remedies"!

    https://www.scientificamerican.com/...-have-exacted-a-heavy-toll-on-public-health1/
"In the final year of Donald Trump’s presidency, more than 450,000 Americans died from COVID-19, and life expectancy fell by 1.13 years, the biggest decrease since World War II. Many of the deaths were avoidable; COVID-19 mortality in the U.S. was 40 percent higher than the average of the other wealthy nations in the Group of Seven (G7).

In a Lancet report by the Commission on Public Policy and Health in the Trump Era, released on February 20, we chronicled Trump's effects on population health. His incompetent and malevolent response to the COVID-19 pandemic capped a presidency suffused with health-harming policies and actions.

However, we also found that Americans' health began lagging before Trump took office. In 1980, U.S. life expectancy was similar to that of other G7 nations; by 2018 it was 3.4 years shorter. 461,000 deaths would have been averted in 2018 if U.S. life expectancy had kept pace with the rest of the G7. That’s equivalent to the number of Americans who died from COVID-19 last year.

Faced with the pandemic, Trump suppressed scientific data, delayed testing, mocked and blocked mask-wearing, and convened mass gatherings where social distancing was impossible. Despite the mounting threats of COVID-19 and global warming, he pulled the U.S. out of the World Health Organization and the Paris climate accord. He installed industry insiders in regulatory posts tasked with protecting Americans from environmental and occupational hazards; their regulatory rollbacks resulted in 22,000 excess deaths from such hazards in 2019 alone. He pushed through a $1.9 trillion tax cut for the wealthy, creating a budget hole that he then used to justify cutting food and housing assistance for the needy. He tried, but failed, to repeal the ACA, then bent every effort to undermine it, pushing up the number of uninsured Americans by 2.3 million. He denied entry to refugees fleeing violence, abused immigrant detainees, and penalized immigrants for accessing basic social services."

Dr. Paul cites multiple medical sources that indicate that Covid 19 was human engineered. Fauci's own "team" in FOIA obtained emails understood that the Covid 19 virus came from the Wuhan biolab before the wrote a paper denying that fact. This has all been presented before.

What specifically did Trump do which was against the recommendations of Fauci and Birx? How were these 450,000 deaths avoidable? What specifically did Trump do to reduce life expectancy in the US.

What scientific data did Trump suppress? How did Trump delay testing? Masks don't prevent the spread and protect the wearer? What mass gatherings? The WHO was part of the Chinese Communist Party coverup. Global warming has nothing to do with this. How did these 22,000 die? What food and housing assisstance was cut? Every American is covered by Medicare and Medicaid. He instituted border control specifically the stay in Mexico policy which reduced illegal immigration and transmission of Covid 19 across the Southern Border.

Emphasis mine, asked and addressed! Idle speculation. And what is this "own team" needing to obtain FOIA? You mean THE team at the hub of this, actually needed to find stuff kept from them? By whom!?

    Are you serious? Everything.

Former President Donald Trump said he did "pretty much the opposite" of what Dr. Anthony Fauci advised during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trump said that while he "got along" with the doctor, he ignored his advice during the pandemic.

Emails from Fauci's team wrote emails obtained through FOIA

Be specific. What did Trump do that was against the recommendations of Fauci and Birx?

Rand Paul was a doctor in Ophthalmology which does not give him any expertise in viruses so stop trying to use ‘Dr’ in your posts to suggest expertise he doesn’t possess. Dr. Fauci’s education, on the other hand, focused directly on infectious diseases and the immune system as did his long career.

The emails of which you are referring to came from a period when a group of scientists were speculating if the virus was human engineered. That speculation ended as more was learned about the virus. Scientists no longer believe the virus was engineered. The troll senator from Kentucky has no proof of anything but it seems he has a cult-like following that willingly partakes in his purple kool-aid. Everything he says is speculation, lies, or delusion.

The fact is Trump contributed to the excess deaths in the US that were caused by the virus. He did not shut down the borders properly. What he did was behave like a bigot and stopped flights coming in from China because that’s where the ‘China virus’ came from. Of course he was too stupid to listen to his advisors telling him people were bringing the virus in from all over the world. Perhaps you can explain how his bigoted hatred of immigrants reduced the transmission of Covid from all over the world. Shutting down the Mexican border didn’t stop the virus coming in from other countries, did it? He waited too long and his failure to act quickly caused thousands of deaths. Perhaps, you can explain how over 1 million people died in the US. Was it because Trump acted rapidly and promoted the use of masks, social distancing, and any other measures to decrease the spread of covid? Was it because he stated the seriousness of the situation from the beginning rather than falsely claiming that it would be gone by spring? He lied constantly and he directly contributed to the deaths of many many people who didn’t need to die. He did not listen to Fauci or any other scientist or he would have done everything in his power to stop the virus. Everything you write is pathetic misinformation and it’s sad you can’t see how this man destroyed lives during the pandemic. The man is a murderer. The man is a dictator. He doesn’t care for the life of one single person except himself. He also appears to have dementia — you can ask his wife ‘Mercedes’ about that.

What should Trump have done to properly shut down the border?

What direction from Fauci and Birx did he ignore?

He shouldn’t have waited so long to impose travel restrictions. Due to waiting 4 weeks longer than he should have 430,000 people came to the US from China after Chinese officials had notified the US administration of the seriousness of the outbreak in Wuhan.

Trump delayed travel restrictions from China despite warnings from his own administration and other US officials.

Trump, during January of 2020, was told on a daily basis about the threat of a global pandemic and he ignored it for a month. Apparently, he wasn’t listening to the US intelligence community but rather to President Xi Jinping. There were US officials at the WHO were giving him real-time information about the virus spread in China which he ignored.

Trump could have implemented travel restrictions from Europe much earlier than the 40 days he waited because at that point New York already had 216 cases.

Trump failed at protecting the citizens of the US by failing to act quickly and reduce entry of people into the USA. He is culpable for the deaths of thousands and nobody can deny this.

Well he ignored everything they told him.
Well he ignored everything they told him.
    What?

I'm not interested in your continued attempt to derail this thread. We've heard the off-topic nonsense you suggested about "Fauci lies", from ass-covering diversionary politicians. Now, off-topic, we're hearing how you failed to notice the blatant failures of Trump!

The travel restrictions would have been ineffectual. Many college students and other U.S. citizens who went to China and Europe in good faith would have been trapped. The fact is that not much can be done about a pandemic.
Those predictions were hysterical. I'm a strange bird; pro-vaxx (because any vaccination has to cover a broad portion of population to be effective); anti-lockdown and anti-mask (because they were theater).

When Trump initiated travel restrictions the left said it was too soon, unnecessary and he was a xenophobic racist.

Let's try again, I've added some colors this time. Trump has been interviewed and says that he wasn't!

False and even more blatantly off topic. Climate change conspiracy theorists don't use facts, they distort them and don't understand them.
