Oppressing (or attacking) Americans with the US military wont work. Much of the military would side with their family and friends. The military is suffering recruitment problems. Due in part to the breach of trust from the experimental vaccine mandates, and in part because Americans are sick of killing and dying to forcefully 'spread democracy' to countries that dont want it. Illegal immigrants are entering the nation in record levels, invited by free housing, free healthcare, welfare checks and Joe Biden. Some might surmise that the govt could solve all these problems by simply allowing people who have no ties to current Americans to join the military. But fear not! Illegal immigrants are not elligible to join the military. Er, well, they werent... Undocumented immigrants are not eligible to enlist in the military. However, the U.S. Department of Defense has expanded the Military Accessions in the National Interest (MAVNI) program to allow immigrants who are out of status to join the U.S. military if they are specialized in health care and possess language skills2. A small number of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. will have an opportunity to join the military for the first time in decades under a new Department of Defense policy unveiled Thursday3. Residents who have temporary protected status and individuals who have an approved petition for an immigrant visa would also be eligible to serve in the military under the legislation as long as they meet the qualifications of the service branch4. Learn more: Undocumented Immigrants To Be Allowed To Serve In The Military - US Immigration Blog (us-immigration.com) Expect this to be expanded substantially. We need more people for the upcoming war with Russia (and China, Iran, everyone else sick of the American Military Empire colloquially referred to as 'the west'), and then the upcoming war against Americans who won't accept totalitarian bureaucracy. Illegal immigrants desperate for room, board and citizenship will fit both of those bills quite nicely.
If the immigration problem is so bad, why did Trump and the MAGA house block the toughest immigration bill to ever pass the Senate. Have you seen this talk from Senator James Lankford, Republican from Oklahoma.
It wasn't 'tough' on immigration. In fact it allowed MORE immigration per day than our current average. Get back to me when theres a bill that enforces an objective limit to immigration. Til then its just more smoke and mirrors.
Basically there were a lot more Trump lies presented in the fact check, and Lankford clarified MAGA misinformation. “It’s not that the first 5,000 [migrants encountered at the border] are released, that’s ridiculous,” Lankford said on the Senate floor. “The first 5,000 we detain, we screen and then we deport. If we get above 5,000, we just detain and deport.” In a social media post on Feb. 5, Trump wrote, “Only a fool, or a Radical Left Democrat, would vote for this horrendous Border Bill, which only gives Shutdown Authority after 5000 Encounters a day.” He’s wrong about the 5,000 encounters threshold.
I dont care what Trump said. He's notorious for speaking too generally to be considered accurate. 'The first 5000 are screened.' Screened for what? Poverty, illness, religious and political dissention and sexuality or all 'persecuted' in the nations migrants are coming from. If ur from China, just say 'I'm Catholic', screening over, you're a politcal/religious refugee (whether or not its true). The screening allows for 5000 immigrants per day, if they say the right thing, which they all know to do. The average encountered 'undocumented' border crossing per day are 2,020. So, as I said, that border deal would have limited immigration to more than we get on average anyway. It was a BAD deal.
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us...-bill-tighten-border-security-aid-2024-02-04/ Quotes from non-Democratic senators --- 1. Independent Senator Kyrsten Sinema told reporters the legislation would secure the U.S. southern border... 2. Republican Senator James Lankford, one of the negotiators on the bill, said that the border likely would remain closed for at least three weeks as the numbers of arriving immigrants drop significantly. 3. Mitch McConnell, the top Senate Republican, has supported the negotiations, saying Republicans would not get a better deal under a Republican White House. "The Senate must carefully consider the opportunity in front of us and prepare to act," McConnell said in a statement. It wasn't until Trump threatened Lankford to "Destroy Him" that cowards like McConnell reversed course.
You can just go by other people's biased and deceptive assessments (McConnell??? good riddance) if you want, but I can read and reason, and that deal would have 'secured' the border to accept more immigrants than we have been getting.
Lankford spent 4 months working on this, and he is a staunch Conservative from the most Conservative state in the US. I'll accept his assessment over yours. Added here again --- "the border likely would remain closed for at least three weeks as the numbers of arriving immigrants drop significantly." Seriously - Trump is responsible for all the Fentanyl that crosses the border from now until the end of 2024.
This administration bends over backwards to accommodate illegal immigrants. But they don't have a whole lot of love for American citizens.
Nothing about 'staunch Conservative' = honest, any more than 'staunch Progressive' does. Closing the border for three weeks is a solution to nothing. The numbers of arriving immigrants will not drop until there are repercussions to trying to enter illegitimately. Fentanyl is not coming through secured checkpoints, its coming through the unmonitored gaps that exist because progressives and never-Trump conservatives obstructed -and in some cases dismantled- Trumps wall. Try again.
Many of the undocumented immigrants won't have the language skills to join the military and act as interpreters. At least not the ones from Latin America. Now, if there are interpreters from Afghanistan who weren't able to secure citizenship in the United States, yeah, they would be eager to join. Generally, I think that working in the military to gain citizenship is a good idea. They put some effort into supporting this country. But what happens to their families while they are serving in the military? Will they get citizenship too? I don't know how that works.
I looked for a date on the blog post and couldn't find one, but I think it's referring to an old program that is already closed. The military tried to do this a few years ago but the number of illegals that actually qualified were a few dozen based on the inability to vet them for a security clearance. Being illegal, you really have no idea of their real identity or even what country they are actually from.
