How exactly did this get to be about the VPC? The topic was about one particular survey question by NORC (NOT the VPC) that asked about long range .50 caliber rifles.

wow that was quick, you are already answering questions with questions.

So, I will guess that you don't know the difference between a sniper rifle and a hunting rifle because you cannot/will not answer the question.

Do you even understand the data that you are using? It seems like you do not.

I posted two pictures of the Remington model 700, one was from the Army, and One was not, which was was "sporting" and which one was "military"?

There is nothing to take into account. What does a military weapon look like? oh yeah you refused to pick the military M24 from the Remington 700.

    how about an AR-15?

Which is "sporting" and which is "assaulting"

    1. [IMG]

    or

    2. [IMG]

what make one "sporting" and the other "assaulting" ?

I know you have no clue.

First of all, let me say that I'm a gun owner and I do not support radical gun control measures.

That being said, you asked us to use "common sense" so I'm compelled to tell you that there are many restrictions placed on cars, and the people operating them.

    1. The vehicles must be registered, and meet minimum safety standards.

    2. The driver must be licensed, and pass a test.

    3. Many laws exist that regulate the safe operation of the vehicle.

    4. Many laws exist that regulate the drivers behavior while he's operating the vehicle.

    5. If a person has been found to have violated some of these laws, their driving privileges can be revoked.

Now, the comparison isn't completely valid because driving isn't a "right" guaranteed by our Constitution, but I think reasonable restrictions on gun ownership aren't out-of-line.

    Hey bleading heart Liberal...
How many non english speaking Mexicans, Haitians, Guatamalans do you think have a valid U.S. Drivers License.?
How many of those (mostly illegals) do you think know what Auto Insurance is.?

How many of those drivers in our streets, do you think, have ever owned a vehicle in their home country.?

I say there are millions of them scooting around. Just the other day on the evening news there was a report of a van driven by an illegal Mexican with seven other illegals crashed into a car killing a Mother and Daughter.
They said bald tires on the van caused the crash.
None of the Mexican bastards were killed.....but detained and arrested.

I wonder where did the driver get the van.?....possibly stolen, or barrowed from some illegal employer.

This sort of crap goes on every day nationwide.

My point is this. There can never be enough restrictions placed on anything. Laws are made to be broken in the minds of the many ignorant.

Hey DixHunter, this thread isn't about illegal immigrants or how they drive. My post was a response to someone who claimed there are "no restrictions" placed on cars, which is an absurd contention.

BTW, I think you meant "bleeding heart". :)

OK great. Let's get back to the topic.

Do you like having an overload of restrictions (on one specific item) placed upon you.?

I don't. Because in time, having an aboundance of restrictions placed on something, will eventually snowball into having other things we own and use be effected with controlled restrictions from an over ruleing socialistic style goverment.
Just as those liberal democrat bastards want to do with our U.S.Constitution.
It all starts with applying more and more restrictions, that will effect our lives.
Making and changing society into a life of equal misery.

Corrupted Big Brother goverment can kiss my ass....And those that go along with him, can pucker-up.

No. As I said in my first post in this thread, I'm a gun owner and I do not support radical gun control measures.

I don't buy the "slippery slope" argument, nor your contention that this is "socialism" in any way. That's just jingoism and fear mongering.

Do you only feel this way about "liberal democrat bastards[sic]" or do you feel the same about the conservative Republican SOB's?

How do you feel about the following laws?

    1. An amendment to the Constitution prohibiting the burning of the US Flag.

    2. A law, or amendment, making English the "national language".

    3. An amendment to the Constitution defining marriage as between one man and one woman.

Socialism is an economic system, it has absolutely nothing to do with gun control.

I was being kind by questioning ",no?" at the end of my response, friend. If you wish to be unfriendly, then you can just omit the questioning ",no?" at the end and rightfully assume that it was an assertion.

There, see how easy this can be when you take out the adversarial approach?

And I would need to agree with your definition why, exactly?

    Relevance?

What "data" are you talking about?

You must have me confused with someone who might be impressed by your knowledge of guns.

Do you have anything relevant to my post to offer me, or are you determined to talk about irrelevant drivel?

Excellent observation. Wolverine also correctly pointed out the realities as to "Socialism". Somehow, I doubt he will acquiesce though.

I doubt is as well. People seem to think its some vast ideology encompassing all issues.

Its not, its an economic ideology. We are a long ways from socialism, despite whatever the right wing likes to say about our "socialist" president. Athletes are still making $65,000,000 a year to chase a ball around a court and people are still facing bankruptcy and death due to the inability to pay for their own medical bills.

unfriendly? what are you talking about now?

you don't I am asking you a question, and you keep answering with more questions. It's obvious you have no answer.

your biased servery, that we have been talking about for pages now. Try and keep up, I know its hard.

Your side-stepping and your inability to answer questions or even participate in this debate is sad.

Look I get, you don't know what you are talking about, as evidenced by this thread, and you will never admit it, so now you are playing a side-stepping game.

    Are you brainwashed or what.?

Socialism is a big brother ruleing goverment, with a equality concept of misery.
Socialistic goverment keeps the people down, and solely dependant upon it's ruleing goverment.
It's the next best thing to Communism
