As an American liberal, I find this remark unjustified. We have our problems with unwanted illegal aliens here. Muslims seem to think their role here is to "teach," not to "listen and learn."

Like England we wrote down all these great idea about what we stood for hundreds of years ago. None of us could have anticipated these tribal third world types coming to our nation with the intention of changing our national complexion. It is simply time to say, "Times change, and we have rethought our position on immigration."

As sophisticated and cultural as the British appear, (and to some degree Americans), we forget our history. We are every bit as barbaric and animalistic as any other ethnic group. Now we are at a point where we are being over run.

Don't give up. There is a simple solution, and the magic word is "citizen." We can use this to push out the mongrel trash we have been attracting.

If an Asian says "Asia for Asians," that is ok. But if an American says "America for Americans," you have every goof-ball human rights group on the planet complaining. The solution is simple. (*)(*)(*)(*) them, this is our country. We do it our way. If you don't like it leave. Assimilate or go. Folks, this is coming from a liberal, but my liberalism ends with our border and American citizenship. America is full, third world, go away, fix your own countries.

Now I am sure this post will "offend" someone, but I do not care. The world's trash is on my doorstep.

The poster boy of American multiculturalism is Sheikh Anwar al Awlaki, the terrorist imam.

Multiculturalism is one of the toxins that destroyed Western cultures.

Here you go again. Running your keyboard, and not a single link to support your statements. Catholics ARE crazed with religion, and do what the guy with the pointy hat tells them to do.

They are hate filled against women of choice and the GLBT. They do not understand America's separation of church and state, and donate money to political causes that should cost them their tax exempt status.

Catholics make a concerted political effort against the right to die movement. And, they cover for pedophiles. Whatever it takes to destroy this evil institution known as Catholicism is alright by me.

The loss of a Nation`s identity and cohesion, by importing millions of dark ages people, is a backward step. All people have the right to object to the imposition of overwhelming cultural and racial influences on their society, and the resultant fragmantation of their home land. To attempt to say otherwise is arogant, and shallow minded at best, this is nothing more than blind racism.

Roman Catholics don't chop the heads of those who disagree with them. Fuzzy wuzzies do chop off heads and are proud of it.

The OP clearly identifies "the English people" as the 75% majority of Britain's most multicultural city's population.

Multiculturalism shouldn't be any nation's official policy, governments should not play "social experiment" on such a grand scale by forcing cultures to exist together. It's divisive, it creates the conditions for social strife, especially when the host culture and imported culture are like night and day, the host culture wealthy and educated... the imported culture not so much.

Nobody should be forced to accept different cultures, nobody should be forced to think that multiculturalism is even a good thing at all.

Western nations should drastically reduce the number of immigrants they receive. They should be far more selective of the immigrants they receive. We're slowly committing cultural suicide, and it's a death which will benefit nobody at all.

It's as if people assume that the land contained within Western borders are somehow magical, that anyone who migrates there will embrace all the same ethics and values, then we'll all skip off into the horizon hand in hand. It's clear that this is not the case.

People rarely ask themselves the question of how things would work if the roles were reversed. If Westerners started migrating into M.E. nations, Africa, South America, certain parts of Asia in similar numbers and for the same reasons, you'd see even worse results. You'd see more racism and discrimination, you'd see more demands of assimilation. Here in the West, we've been forced to accept everyone and everything, but notice the lack of reciprocation! Yes, most every nation on the earth is somewhat multicultural by now, but others are typically more socially and visually homogenous.

People are just weird for expanding their personal space bubble out to cover the entire nation when they see someone different :blankstare:, but no one is part of only one group -- whether it's ethnic, political, social -- people usually belong to many groups. Work group, play group, old friends, new friends, close family, extended family, and so on. We're all in different groups! :)

Also, "multicultural" is a cute term but misleading. In reality, the world was drawn by European nations. Go anywhere in the world and you'll be in a country that speaks one of the major European languages as (one of) its main's: English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese.

There are some exceptions: Not German language -- Germany lost their colonies because of WW1.

East Asia kept some of their language and culture. Though China crushed some of it.

Africa has nothing. All Pre-colony African culture and history was destroyed.

Middle east was designed to remain turbulent. The European map-makers designed the Middle east map to encourage war and tension so the distraction could help them keep control (Also the only region to have religious significance to the Europeans, so some culture remains).

The notion there is a causational link between immigration and unemployment, which is what you are implying, is a myth. During the economic depression of the 1930s, for example, there was virtually no immigration into the UK but mass unemployment. Conversely, during the 1950s and 1960s there were high rates of immigration into the UK but correspondingly high rates of employment and low rates of unemployment.

Hmm, a strawman...You are wrongly assuming that all British born citizens are white caucasian or non-black....

....Please support your subjective assertion that the "promotion for ethnic diversity and multiculturalism has been pushed down the public's throat".

Surely human rights legislation is a good thing, or do you think it's proper for companies to be racist to their staff in addition to limiting the rights of the said staff who have been victimized on the grounds of race, not to be able to seek redress?

Where is your evidence that governments are "forcing" cultures to exist together?

You have not presented any evidence that it's divisive either. Actually culture is best characterized in terms of class not race. The vast majority of the world's ethnically diverse populations have more in common in terms of their shared class than they do in terms of their ethnicity. In other words, for example, the vast majority of working class Brits, irrespective of their ethnic background, have more in common than they do with the upper class minority who rule over them.

Nobody is forcing you to think multiculturalism is a good thing or not...You are free to make your own decisions. You appear to want to turn the clock back to some kind of pre-war/post-war mono-culture...Why? London, where I live, is one of the most ethnically diverse and multiculturally vibrant cities on the planet. I am old enough to remember the 1960s growing up as a child and my parents told me how boring London was then compared to now. You need to remove your rose-tinted spectacles.

What do you mean, when you say "we're slowly committing cultural suicide"..Please elaborate. What do you mean by British or English "culture"? Levels of immigration have been reduced over recent years....Fortress Europe is real not a fantasy.

Several Western nations have a policy of multiculturalism. There is nothing the citizens of those nations can do if they wish to be separate or more homogenous. They're forced to deal with it.

It is divisive, people are resistant to assimilating to that which is different. The majority population gets upset as they're expected to be tolerant but the immigrants are not required to assimilate. The majority is labeled racist, then the bleeding heart ideologues come rushing in to fight for immigrant underclass cause. It's divisive.

Also, race and culture trump class.

You can pretend it's not this way if you like.

You still haven't provided evidence that people want to live in apartheid states nevermind proved governments are forcing multiculturalism on societies. Wake up, the world has changed and continues to change. Societies are in a continual state of flux...things don't stand still. Life is better now for the vast majority of all people than it was after the war and during the 50s when you would be hard pressed to find anything to eat that didn't involve fish and chips and pie and mash. What are immigrants supposed to assimilate into exactly? You need to be more specific rather than regurgitating stereotypes.

Nonsense, by definition, a white working class Englishman has more in common with a black working class African than he does with either a white or black English upper class toff who is exploiting him.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiculturalism#Multiculturalism_in_contemporary_Western_societies

    Multiculturalism is a fail policy.

As I said, they have no choice, and usually any effort to righteously maintain national identity is turned in to something it's not.

Let us try to immigrate into Africa, China, or the Middle East and demand not only equal treatment, not only jobs, not only social services, but the right to maintain our Western ways. Let us arrogantly demonstrate in the streets, commit a disproportionate amount of crime (hey since were impoverished minorities we now have an excuse), let us alter their demographic and culture then call anyone who objects a bigoted racist. Let us use the bleeding hearts amongst them as pawns to further our casue. I mean, (*)(*)(*)(*) em right?

Yes everything is in a constant state of flux. That doesn't mean that we need to intentionally try to turn Western societies into miniature planet Earth caricatures.

I'm not talking about small things such as food. I'm talking about traditions, history, language, music, religion, ethnicity... the things that make a culture what it is... the things that most strongly identify with.

So why should it not be acceptable for one to wish that their culture continue on as it has been, as opposed to accepting change? How is it intrinsically wrong to say that we should remain culturally homogenous, as opposed to saying that change is the "right" way?
