Locke9-05: "I don't have an absolute answer for that. But I believe that your feelings can answer that. Did it feel like a religious experience? Did it feel warm and enlightening? Or did you just feel a little bit crazy? I've had religious experiences, or spiritual experiences. And they don't feel like lunacy. It truly feels to me like a higher power somewhere was watching out for my well being and answering my prayers."

Per above quote, I also concur with what has happened in my life over many years. Not something everyday that I can 'whip up" within the futility of my mind, but something that just 'came upon me,' 1st at age 10, then later in my 20's and 30's.

What is important NOW, is what do YOU do with that experience (enlightenment or a revelation of a higher power!). The ball is in YOUR court..Merry Christmas,...... ,Homer <wink>

BTW, Here is what "I" found from "My" journey in this life. OD :)

So were you just screwing with my head by stroking my ego, or were you actually being genuine?

Ambiguous spiritual. I'm a spiritual non-conformist. I don't follow any one religion to the book. I don't attend church, I practice my faith in private. So on and so forth.

No bitter blood at all. Allow me to apologize for my rude response to your post in the abortion debate. Your post here on my profile made my day. It made me feel pretty (*)(*)(*)(*) good. I've never had someone tell me that I'm unique in that I challenge their ego through an intellectual fight. I feel honored. And yes, I'd love to accept your invitation to a discussion about drug policy.

Hey, how's it going, Homer? Enjoyed our little discuss the other day and you giving me a vulnerable 'peek' into your soul. I hope my 'spirited posting' doesnt offend you personally, me being a 'tough love' kinda guy (I think you are too!). I can enter into heated discussions without having any lasting feelings of hatred. ha ha

It is not dead letter religion...I know that many would laugh at my personal revelations of a God in my life..but they arent just for me..but they are for all those who seek & believe..

I have seen His salvation many times in my life and am at a loss often in how to relate a personal experience..

If your have a problem at this point in your life, be open. Hope is the opening for faith to work. There is no formula (or I would give it to you) but it is a personal conversation between you and GOD...

Yes, and we are not spiritual robots, but 'sons; of the family of God. I haent come to my conclusions of who God is, who we are, etc. lightly. We all struggle with our 'position' or 'salvation' in this life----but the biggest enemy between God and us is our pride..sounds too simple, but think about it! Do we approach God on His terms or ours...I rest my 6-pack! <wink> OD

But... I'm open to the 'other' dimension' that is mentioned, of the Spirit. However, the formal charlatans who would try to fleece this flock are seen by me as the evil of society. But as I have said, I havnt thrown out the "baby with the bathwater"..they have been prophesized, esp, during the end times...dont know if you have ever been in the Mil service, but I see this earthly life as a boot camp, a proving grounds, that we must tackle in the spirit....in a small segment of eternal life toward the God type of existence of eternity.

Has your career already started in the sciences or other field?

I'm at the mature end of a financial industry career and despite success often think 'what if' about having not pursued sciences I was interested in.

It would be frightening if computers really had independent thought.
Think about Aggression, reproduction (!), angry disruption of ungrateful masters! The 'desire' to control other computers. We're finished.
