As for my family's military education..we go back to the American Revolution..and have served this nation in the military ever since..

Great question. The men folk weren't at a bar or out bowling. What is there to do at night for recreation in a world without electricity?

My guess is that these were Taliban villages. The people killed were probably the families of Taliban. The men were probably out planting IEDs or setting ambushes. That's why the men weren't home to protect their families.

The shooter probably knew these were Taliban villages, knew the men folk wouldn't be home because they assumed their families would be safe, and wanted to rock their world by bringing their posterity under the knife. It's something that primitives do. The Taliban are primitives and the shooter became a primitive.

The Afghan men would have been with their families in their hovels when the shooter strolled in if the Afghan men had been home. But they weren't home.

Where were the Afghan men and why didn't defend the women and childred who were murdered? The Afghan men weren't present of they would have prevented this tragedy from happening. So where were the Afghan men on the dark night last week? They were our being guerrillas.

The shooter must have wanted to pay back a particular group for the loss of his friend's leg the day before the shooting began. The shooter went to two separate villages and selected the homes he went into. Most of the dead were the women and children of one family. Why that family? There must have been a reason. This was a revenge attack.
