    The biggest excuse for democrats and republicans alike not to vote for anyone other than the two parties, is that they would "waste" their vote, because other candidates have no chance. usually third party candidates are in around 1-3%. at which percentage number would you consider voting for a third party candidate who's views you like? Me, I would consider bothering to vote for if the candidates popularity would be at about 20% or higher, but here's the problem: if the candidate is not pre screened by the establishment which controls the establishment media, there is just no way in the world they would proclaim him to be as popular at that. Communists who control America know better then let the power slip away.

    Great post.

    I wish you had added a % poll. That being said, it goes beyond %. It goes into damage control. I'm worried that in the future when people REALIZE there is more than 2 options that they will be forced to vote for one of the two because the third party will only do good. The other two parties will destroy our nation by 40% vs 60% but the other party will view it the other way. Yep, we are constantly voting on less destruction.

    I PERSONALLY think this is a year to vote Conservative. I was planning on voting Ron Paul. I believe a nation needs balance and I give props to Obama for the Bush bailout but we need to stop the spending fast. The bailout worked in my opinion and many economists, but we can't go on thinking that all sending helps everything. "General welfare" remember?

    Well, Republicans ****** everything up and let another Bush in, Romney. I would 100% vote Johnson this year if Romney wasn't;

    Thought I may also not vote for him because his party turned down the "Anti-Outsourcing Bill" of 2010 and they are cutting taxes which buys votes and increases national debt.........everytime.

    I'd only consider a vote for a third party if they held 30 seats in the House and at least 10 seats in the Senate... Otherwise, total waste of time....

    Last time I voted was in 2004, and it was the last time because when I was in the voting booth there were only two choices, and nowhere to write in. no pens, no paper. two choices, two scumbags. I voted for one for the lack of choice only, left the polling place in disgrace.

    Why not vote 3rd party down the line?

    That is what I did in 2010.

    I don't know why people expect a 3rd party to magically appear. It will be what we have seen already starting, a fleeing of the establishment parties will create the demand for a 3rd party candidate, and then one will emerge.

    The catch is that unless you are counted, how would anyone know there is a demand for a 3rd party?

    I thought my post explains why, but another reason is trust issue: if democrats and republians lie, where is my guarantee that a third party candidate will be different if some time in the future he shows up?

    It doesn't, in fact I agree with Jesse Ventura on this, that as soon as a 3rd party gains any power it will be corrupted. Ask the Tea-party.

    It is still more productive then not voting.

    I like Ventrura's solution for this as well. He says we should eliminate party affiliation on ballots. You should have to know something about the candidate to vote for them.

    There is no guarantee. I would like to find out though. We already know what happens with the other two parties. The lesser of two evils garbage was invented by both parties to exclude third parties and the ignorant just eat it up because they won't do their own research. They are followers not leaders. If fox and msnbc tell them who to vote for they will march in lockstep to the voting booth to vote for the establishment candidate.

    I would vote a third party depending on what the ideas that it's defending, whatever the percentage it has.

    Communists who control America? Seriously? LOL. You continue with that crap of Communism, Are you Mccarthy?
