Or maybe its because I have always had a tender place in my heart for special needs people. I would bully a bully real fast growing up if I saw them picking on one of these children. My cousin had a dresser fall over on him and it caused brain damage. He still has a way of thinking as a 5 year old at 46. So I knew what it was like for my aunt and uncle who was trying to deal with plus now much pain and time they had to focus on him. To this day he must constant supervision.

I knew better but still used the word because back then it was accepted. Now, I know the pain the word causes to parents and refuse to deal with it being used around me or toward someone.

If you were a Marine then you know respect is earned. When you got a new LT what was the first thing they tried to do? Earn the troops respect. How? A good one would get to know his men and needs, then use judgment meeting those needs. All troops would look at their new LT with doubt until he proved himself as a good leader. Never have I heard a troop cheer that a new LT was assigned without them (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing how they had to break him in.

And I grew up as a Navy brat. Never have I heard the use of CORPSEmen. I have also talked to my brother who is a Commander and he laughed about Obama using this term. I smell a big ole pile of BS when you claim it was used in this fashion. Maybe in joking that he was a CORPSEmen when dealing with Marines because they love to stack them high.......

I think most of us tend to treat Obama the same way he treats his position, that is, with little respect. We treat him with the same respect he treats the Constitution. The thing here is the office of President and Commander in Chief is a position of respect, but only if you treat it as such. Obama does not. I also see if you were in the Marines you pushed a desk and never served in a line unit. Only the staff officers were like you said. The real officers that went in the field and into combat very much so wanted your respect because they knew without it they would never get troops to follow orders in a firefight. See stupid officers get men killed. Good and respected have men that will do about anything for them even if its taking the chance of dying.

And the Commander comment proves also that you never served........yup there are two ranks of Commander, a Lt Commander and a Commander hahaha.......what is a O-5 in the Navy? Commander?
