    Broadwell confirmed the reports on Fox News that the CIA annex asked for a special unit, the Commander in Chief’s In Extremis Force, to come and assist it. She also said that the force could indeed have reinforced the consulate, and that Petraeus knew all of this, but was not allowed to talk to the press because of his position in the CIA.

    I can't access YouTube at work so I have to go by the statement quoted. Basically, what is says is that Fox News reported that the CIA had used it's secret annex in Benghazi to hold Islamic milita members linked to al Qaeda which the CIA denied. It then goes on to state that the CIA could have been using Libyans to hold Islamic militia members linked to al Qaeda but it fails to note that this wouldn't have happened at the CIA annex but somewhere else even if it happened. All of this ignores that the CIA annex was a secret location so the Libyans didn't even know that it existed. Finally, Fox News is merely confirming that Fox News reported this and not that it actually happened.

    Basically it appears that we have on Fox News myth building on top of the same Fox News myth. We can assume that this is based upon the philosophy that if a lie is repeated often enough then people begin to believe it.

    Jennifer Griffen reported that Al Qaeda prisoners were being held at the annex in Benghazi before the speech Paula Broadwell gave Oct. 26.

    Ok, I watched it and you are right. Fox news does say they reported the detention, and the CIA denied it.

    We will likely never know the truth.

    They didn't have any problem immediately reporting that the deaths were due to spontaneous rioting by non-existence rioters in Benghazi.
