i don't love blair's ideas, but honestly he has been the most important left politician in europe in the last 20 years. he, the new labur and the "third way" tranformed and inspired the leftist parties in western europe.

I think, US-Presidents from the Democrats are generally more popular in Europe than from the Republicans. I have read an article which said that the Democrats are similar to the conservative party here in Germany, the CDU (Christian Democratic Union) while the Republicans, if they were a German party, would count as extreme right. It stays the fact though, that Bush started wars while Obama did not.
