    It's not in the constitution. We should fight against it. I don't want to pay for the people who might use more water than I do. Privatize the water supply, problem solved. Air is next.

    Is it forbidden by your state constitution??

    Ohio;

    ยง 18.04 Acquisition of public utility; contract for service; condemnation

    Any municipality may acquire, construct, own, lease and operate within or without its corporate limits, any public utility the product or service of which is or is to be supplied to the municipality or its inhabitants, and may contract with others for any such product or service. The acquisition of any such public utility may be by condemnation or otherwise, and a municipality may acquire thereby the use of, or full title to, the property and franchise of any company or person supplying to the municipality or its inhabitants the service or product of any such utility.

    Private water utilities are common in Indiana.

    You keep starting these dopey threads, indicating that you misunderstand anything about what conservatives stand for. Or is it that you do understand, and are simply setting up straw men for you to bash against?

    No, it's not a right. But does it need to be a right to be provided by the government? No.

    I don't want to pay for the people who might use more water than I do. It's practically communism except at a local level. Absolutely disgusting. I can't believe a conservative like you supports this madness.

    Yes, and water bills in Indiana tend to be higher as well. I pay over 100 a month for mine. Most states with public water pay less than that.

    Depends on where you live. In my city you are not allowed to have a well for human consumption unless you had the well before the law was passed. Otherwise, you are stuck with municipal water or moving as you also may not live in a building that does not have water and electric and sewage service to them (the sewage is also grandfathered for those few folks who still have septic systems).

    Jeeze, you sound like your water bill is completely killing you. I pay zero dollars for water. Maybe you should live where I live.
