Have a Major in Mechanical Engineering with double minors in math and bus mgt.

An International Finance degree from Pepperdine and built a 7M company.

I am 31 and have been using marijuana to help sleep for almost 11 years.

Those that say it is worse than alcohol are insane. Hopefully we can start reaping the massive benefits of legalizing and taxing it. We will see...

I have three Masters degrees (MBA, Econ and Finance). I'm a VP at a major US bank and the IRS tells me I'm a 3%'er in terms of my annual income. I've smoked twice a week for 20 years. Can't recall the last time I missed a day of work outside of vacation time. But I'm totally cool if someone thinks I'm a lazy loser. Who gives a shiite? Life is too short to worry about what dumb ass strangers think about anything.

I hope it does get legalized everywhere, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. I can get it whenever I want anyway and clearly my odds of getting in trouble are incredibly slim.

Weed gives me the munchies and I never liked it much. But it isn't my business if someone else wants to smoke it, just stay off the roads. I hate slow drivers.

I am 39, and a highly paid Senior Network Security Engineer for one of the major stock option/futures exchanges in the US.

    Daily smoker.

That being said. It was grass, Mt Dew, and a lot of video games that got me into computers in the first place. :) Nothing like a doobie, a fresh cold mountain dew, and the sound of "HEADSHOT!" at 2am on a wed night. :)

I've been tokin forever but I also have taken courses and studied textbooks in Neuropharmacology and know that there are many people that probably shouldn't. In some it can produce certain negative symptoms akin to those exhibited in schizophrenia to varying degrees. And it can produce these effects for some fairly well know neurological reasons. And for people with schizophrenia, NIH and myself would highly recommend considering not smoking if it aggravates certain symptoms, which it has been found to do in many long term case studies. Do your own research.

However, all things considered, I'm still in favor of decriminalizing it. There is NO COMPARISON between marijuana and alcohol use and abuse in terms of their potentially destructive effects, both on an individual physiological and psychological basis, as well as the obvious sociological/familial ones. And if you really want to significantly reduce traffic "accidents" (from stupidity and addiction), then focus on cell phone users and alcoholic beverage consumers.

Congrats! I literally just jumped to that % this year and its getting really fun!

Also you have a good point, I have had my "license" here in CA for years and I don't even go to the stores anymore. My Lithuanian delivery man brings me amazing $75 quads, great guy.

Shoot me a PM if you ever end up near Santa Monica, always up to smoke a bowl and chat business/politics.

Lol, I remember friends making fun of me for doing this every now and then.

Once day I come home to a friend on my computer playing with my roommate on his computer. A massive pile of cocaine being shared between the two of them. (Hate coke personally).

Even after they continued to judge me on weed, kinda funny.

I make $7.25/hr (when I'm not between jobs) and haven't read a book in over 20 years. I have 2 Chevy engines hanging from an oak tree in my auntie's front yard and another on a stand that I've been rebuilding since 1998. Feck you crazy liberals, I wouldn't touch that marijuana stuff if two dozen of Obama's best storm troopers landed on my house and jammed the open end of a 4-barrel Chevy carburetor down my throat and blew that smoke into my chest with helicopter exhaust. But I would drink some damn good 'shine with y'all.

you only know a drinker is a drinker when they have a problem, same would be true of other drugs, if they do not have a problem you would never know they used

I completely get this and think its fine for you to believe so, but why do you care if we do?

We are simply stating our stats to show marijuana does not make us unproductive citizens. So why do you care about weed but not alcohol?

    Annual deaths in the US
    http://www.drugwarfacts.org/cms/Causes_of_Death#sthash.C3HutJ3L.dpbs
    Alcohol - 25,692
    Marijuana - 0

    Addiction Percentages
    http://www.alcoholaddiction.info/alcoholism-statistics.htm
    http://www.drugabuse.gov/publications/drugfacts/marijuana
Alcohol - 30% of ALL AMERICANS at some point in their life
Marijuana - 9% of all Americans WHO SMOKE MARIJUANA

So why? I just don't get it?

Is it that much of a moral thing to you?

C'mon, man, you gotta be able to recognize 'facetious' when you see it. I applaud your usage and actually did it myself until it got too hybridized and potent. Give me some of that old Mexican bud from the '70s and I'd probably still be doing it.

Yeah, he did, and I laid out my explanation to him.

I travel quite a bit for work. If I ever end up your way I'll take you up on it. Oddly, in my real life I do not talk politics much. This board is my outlet. My friends are all pretty much on the same page politically and at work such talk is strongly discouraged. When I travel abroad for work it's always best to avoid US political talk because they think we are nuts. "They" meaning just about everyone. My family is from Lithuania! They came to the US when the Russians paid Lithuania a visit back in the day.

I have smoked off and on until I was diagnosed with breast cancer to avoid all the nasty manufactured drugs they wanted to prescribe for me for various side effects related to chemo and chemo onset menapauseI started smoking mj on a regular basis. I am now cancer free for seven years, sleep like a baby and love life.

Good to hear! I smoked the first time in high school, but not on a regular basis until college. Went to Michigan, which is a pot friendly kind of place. I'm in my mid-40's now and still smoke 2-3 times a week. I never understood what the big deal was. Hell, for some people it provides far more benefits than harm. My better half had life long trouble sleeping. I introduced her to pot (she was actually scared!) and now she sleeps like a baby.

Easy, just use less. These days, one or two hits is all you need. More efficient, seems to me.

What, other than my assumption that he's on the record opposing marijuana legalization (and that is an assumption, I rarely listen to him, and have never heard him actually say it) does Rush Limbaugh have to do with the subject at hand?

She insists the pot works far better. Not in terms of getting to sleep, but in staying asleep. I can't really say as sleeping is very easy for me. But that's what she says.
