I meant that it was the “resonance case” because the acсused, Akhmedpasha Aidaev (the person who killed Volkov) & Bekkhan Ibragimov were Caucasians and the victim was Russian + he was a football fan and there was a public resonance - some thousand of Russian football fans poured into the streets. Of course it wasn’t like riots in Biryulovo but…

Usually it can’t generate an analogous considerable public excitement when Russian guys kill each other under the same circumstances. But when we have a “Caucasian trace” – the matter takes another turn.

Remember Mirzoev case, the public excitement that he got such a “funny” penalty - but let’s take this case>

Same sentence different nationality but where is the public resonance?
    _____________

Akhmedpasha Aidaev, the person who killed Volkov got about 17 years imprisonment (frankly speaking the Russian judicial practice shows that 17 years imprisonment is a pretty hard penalty in comparison with other sentences (for example some years ago a man killed his wife dismembered the corpse and got only 9 years imprisonment).

Anybody can say that Aidaev got the proper penalty but other murderers got too light penalty in Russia, well some people share this opinion ;) but there is a clear judicial practice of imposition of penalty and there is an opinion that the persons, even persons who killed “Russian and football fan” should get penalty within the mark/ judicial practice.

There was a scuffle – Volkov and some his friends vs Chechens . Ibragimov got about 5,5 years imprisonment for an intentional infliction of light injury commited out of ruffianly motives + (ст. 213 Хулиганство и 115 Умышленное причинение легкого вреда здоровью УК РФ ).

According to the Russian legislation Ibragimov had a right to get a conditional early release from punishment
    So it goes…

С’mon, everything is all right. There was a right sentence. And Mirzoev got an appropriate punishment. There is an opinion that it is too light penalty for negligent homicide but we should readdress this question to legislators. The “public resonance” has arisen ‘cause Mirzoev is Dag and the victim is Russian guy Ivan Agafonov. The Russian disturbed public keeps calm when Russian guy Petya kills Russian guy Vasya or Dag Bagautdin kills Dag Maga under the same circumstances and an investigator launches a criminal case over signs of a crime under part 1 of article 109 of criminal code of RF (Infliction of death by negligence- Причинение смерти по неосторожности), and Petya or Vasya get the same penalty as Mirzoev.

Absolutely. Some people from the sunny North Caucasus with their mediaeval mentality and teypoviy / tribal system blend well with the realities of modern Russian life.

In a certain sense some modern Caucasian republics like Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia are a very characteristic and interesting part - the “jewel” of the modern Russian Federation.

Not long ago I have an interesting conversation with one person about corruption in RF. He really thinks that the corruption is a sort of lubricant for the Russian economy and the Russian economy could not work well without it. :)

Yeah, this is a very vexed question.
+ Don't forget that so-called serfdom was abolished by a decree issued by Alexander II only in 1861.
And some other countries from the Eastern Europe had the same probs. Btw some experts believe that Poland/Rzeczpospolita had the "hardiest" serfdom in the Europe.
