I hope an Obama voter isn't inferring that incompetence is a basis for any negative consequences.

You mean I called it right. I've seen more liberals in this thread as small as it is condemn this tweet then I have seen them condemn Lehmberg.

    Your words:

    "This is an old bit.

"Attack somebody.....'delete' it and/or apologize....but make sure it keeps getting in the news.....act all innocent and sorrowful."

It's like the old line where the politician accuses an opponent of having sexual relations with a pig....his campaign manager says "He never did that!"....and the politician says "Yeah....but now he has to deny it!"

Clear implication that the TRAVIS COUNTY DRUNKASS DA is innocent.

Now, start the Word Dance and pretend that isn't what you meant.

    Yaaaawwwnnnn....

He does, but that is not what Perry is charged with. He's charged with illegal intimidation.

Then maybe she should face a grand jury too.

And what was the intimidation and how was it illegal?

I think they think if they say it, it's true. And to take it one step further, if just one moron believes what they say, they've succeeded.

And that, my friend, is how we got in the mess we're currently in.

    Gorn, Perry's finger slipped. Oops.

Besides, Perry's base seems to think that accusations of pig sex and terms like "Bimbo Barbie" are acceptable. As they say: "Look where it comes from."

    Read the indictment.

Tell you what, if it's that important to you, why don't you google it yourself and come back and prove me wrong?

Then you can do a couple victory skates around the rink holding the cup.

I could really rub your nose in this but it's too easy. Picking on ***** ain't my thang.

Grand jurors in Travis County charged Mr. Perry with abusing his official capacity and coercing a public servant, according to Michael McCrum, the special prosecutor assigned to the case.

All federal key word Federal crimes. Try and keep up. I know you think every Republican is innocent and everyone darker skin is guilty but this is what he is charged with and that damn tweet didnt help his case

    http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/02/politics/rick-perry-indictment/index.html?hpt=po_c1

So now I see how this work you can rant about everything you want and you do not have to cite anything. As usual you fall way short.

Actually, my original post yesterday left out this tidbit....

    y KENDALL BREITMAN | 9/1/14 8:25 AM EDT
Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s Twitter account posted — and then quickly deleted — a tweet that characterized a district attorney with whom the governor is in a dispute as the “most drunk Democrat in Texas,” according to a report.

A picture of Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, modeled after Dos Equis’ “Most Interesting Man in the World” ad campaign, was tweeted from the verified “@GovernorPerry” account on Sunday. “I don’t always drive drunk at 3x the legal blood alcohol limit… …but when I do, I indict Gov. Perry for calling me out about it. I am the most drunk Democrat in Texas,” the tweet read, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Go look it up yourself if you can refute it with facts then do so. This pointing the finger back every time is abused or do you not understand the word debate.

That's not true. The Primary Investigator on that case has already disputed that claim. In fact, he signed an Affadavit, stating that Perry nor his Staff were ever a target of that investigation. Signing an Affadavit is a legal document and serious stuff. No one would lie on an Affadavit....and certainly not a lead investigator on a case. It's been posted already many times.....but here it is again:

Chris Walling, in a signed affidavit dated August 20, 2014 says that he was the main investigator in the CPRIT probe that Democrats are talking about. “I was the primary investigator for the investigation involving the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). My job was to interview individuals, issue subpoenas and gather factual information to see if there had been any criminal violations,” he wrote.
“At no time during the CPRIT investigation was Governor Rick Perry or anyone from the Governor’s office a target. At no time did I ever obtain evidence that suggested any wrongdoing on behalf of Governor Rick Perry or the Governor’s office,” Walling explains.
Walling says he was interviewed by Special Prosecutor Mike McCrum, who secured the indictment of Perry, and told McCrum that there was no evidence Perry did anything wrong with respect to CPRIT. “I made it clear to him [McCrum] that there was absolutely no evidence even suggesting wrongdoing on the part of Governor Perry” he writes in the affidavit.

The CPRIT case, according to the Texas Tribune, eventually resulted in an indictment against one of the organization’s officers."

They've been cited in several threads already. 1) Coercion of a public official, and 2) abuse of authority/power.

And they've been disproven in several threads already.

    1) To "coerce" means you obtained what you wanted. Lehmberg is still in her position as D.A......so he did not "coerce" her to resign. As far as stating he would cut the PIU funds if she didn't step down is also not abuse. Obama does that all the time.....threatens the House Republicans that if they don't give him a bill he wants with everything he wants, he'll veto it. I don't see Dems calling for him to step down or be indicted for it. He also does Executive Orders using the reason that it's because Republicans aren't doing their job and he has no other choice. Again.....I don't see why Dems are not calling for his indictment and prosecution..... if they truly believe Gov. Perry should be indicted.

    2) Perry did not abuse his authority or power. As Texas Governor, he has "line-item veto" authority. He can veto anything in the budget for any reason.....or he doesn't even have to give a reason.

    Ummmm...no.

The special prosecutor, Michael McCrum, is a careful, non-political and experienced criminal law attorney, who was selected by a Republican judge. McCrum appears very straight talking, not the type to risk his career with a worthless case.
