`President Bush Predicted In 2007 With Frightening Accuracy What Is Happening Today In Iraq`

`They say hindsight is 20/20. In a time when many Americans wanted nothing more than to put the Iraqi war behind them and bring the troops home, former President George W. Bush’s warnings fell largely on deaf ears. Yet, in retrospect, President Bush’s words from a speech made in 2007 were chillingly prophetic.

They are all unfolding before our very eyes.`

Former President Bush endured excoriation from the media and ridicule from the pundits for his position on Iraq. He was mocked and scorned. But, he was right.
“Every single thing that President Bush said there in that statement is happening today,” says Marc Thiessen, who was Bush’s speechwriter at the time of the 2007 speech. He recently appeared on The Kelly File with Megyn Kelly to discuss the speech he wrote for President Bush.
“It is point by point by point what we are seeing today,” according to Megyn Kelly. She calls Bush’s predictions “eerie.”

~`The difference between Bush and Obama.
    Bush killed the terrorist.
Obama apologized and backed the Muslim Brotherhood.
Bush called them terrorists, Obama ignored the peace until it died from neglect.
More legacy for a failed president.`~

Everyone knew that was going to happen. It would have been nice if his ability to see the future had popped up back in 01, and we could have avoided a lot of this mess to begin with.

If only Obama had it within himself to stand strong on Terror his first moments in office onward, sending a message that ALL Americans are on the same page when it comes to terrorists. He could have done everything else different from Bush and probably been labeled a successful president and won non-voters over. But, he just couldn't. He doesn't believe in it. He sympathizes with them.

09./11 is what led to this. He knew we would be attacked, he did not know when/where. NO ONE DID.

His predictions of "if the US does this, then this will happen", in 2007, are ASTOUNDINGLY CORRECT, just like (GASP!!!) Glenn Beck's economic predictions of the same year, ( and earlier) , that "if we keep letting Fannie/Freddie do this, then this will happen".

    Deal; with it.

No, everyone didn't know that would happen. After the Surge had stabilized the country and Obama & Co. took office, Joe Biden crowed how Iraq was going to be one of the administration's greatest achievements. Clearly, they considered the stability in Iraq as one that justified and vindicated their decision to rush for the exits as soon as possible.

Of course, many people knew that this could happen given the ANSWERnik in Chief's eagerness to abandon Iraq, Afghanistan, and the "War on Terror" - excuse me, the "Overseas Contingency Operation". Furthermore, none of this has come as a surprise from a president who ignorantly and foolishly believes that the people who stand up and respond to jihadism are responsible for creating it.

No, it's not George Bush's fault that Barack Obama doesn't have a clearly defined and effective strategy to combat jihadism in general and ISIS/ISIL in specific. It's not George Bush's fault that Barack Obama is not even in this fight - that's Barack Obama's fault.

    FORE!!

No, 9/11 led to an angry and pissed off America. Which should have understandably led to a return attack, against those who perpetrated the attack. Unfortunately, his Geography was off, and he invaded the wrong country who sheltered the responsible terrorists. Which is what destabilized the Middle East which leads us to here.

It's funny that Bush crows about this, considering He was the one who negotiated the withdrawal. If he was so prescient, then why would he do this? Or was that just a last ditch solution to pass off to Obama and then he could fade from the foreground and all the heat goes to the next president. He ran on removing troops, which is what the american people wanted.

As for current strategy, I'm not sure what would work, other then another full scale attack by multiple countries. Or is full scale war what you want?

As for Golfer IN chief? He has taken 150 vacation days, which is negligible compared to every other president in history. That's the silliest thing to go after Obama for, which is saying something considering all the silly stupid crap people go after him for. Especially considering the actual BS he has produced far dwarfs crap like that.

Unicorns and leprechauns. Who was it that actually gave the order to capture Osama bin Laden? Who has been criticized incessantly because of a very aggressive drone program that has left Al-Qaeda without quite a few of its top leaders?

Bush gave the order to invade Iraq and set the stage for the destabilization of the entire region.

Bush also happened to to have signed the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.

Maliki refused requests by the current Admin to extend the troop presence.

ISIS is and always will be Bush's baby and history isn't going to be kind to the neocons that filled his administration.

You are so right, they were screaming we lost and there was absolutely no allegiance to our nation from democrats, even after the majority voted for the war and removing saddam. Is there anyone wondering why there is such divisiveness in America today?

Revisionist history, at the time it seemed like the right thing to do, and most all supported it

    Guffaw - left-wing fail!

It's a damned shame that Bush didn't give Obama his way back in 2007. If he had, you would have had your precious jihadist caliphate 7 years ago and today the Middle East would be one giant cuddle party...

He did see the future, Saddam with sanctions lifted restocking his WMD arsenal and furthering he ties with terrorist groups just as the Clinton administration predicted.

Which part was revisionist? A lot didn't, but were called 'unpatriotic' and vilified for arguing against it because everyone was so pissed off. Plus that shade faded quickly once everyone realized how stuck in Iraq and Area everyone was and how this wasn't going to turn into the major victory a lot of people expected. It's why the media stopped really covering it around between 04-06. Nobody wanted to keep hearing about how many soldiers had died, and nobody wanted to hear or report about how many innocent civilians were killed.

Obama couldn't manage a success! No one sees this as "Bush's ISIS" except those that are still worshiping Obama. Bush warned Obama about all that is happening, but I'm guessing Obama was probably out golfing.

Afghanistan was the wrong country? What was the right country?

And not the one he wanted.

Because the UN authorization was ending the end of the year and without SOME agreement we would have had to IMMEDIATELY pull ALL forces out. It was an interim agreement to keep forces there until a longer term SOFA agreement could be negotiated by the next President. It was President-elect Obama was was declaring he would pull the troops out and not leave ANY troops in country.
There was no choice, the UN agreement was due to expire 12/31/08 at midnight. Obama had run and won on the expressed guarantied promise that he would have the troops out by end of the year and did not support any agreements otherwise. And of course he refused to negotiate a long term agreement where the Iraq's were willing and asking for back channels a force of 10,000 and Obama wouldn't budge above 3,000.

But are you telling us that Obama is lying when he says he ended the war in Iraq and takes credit for pulling out the troops that in fact it was Bush?

Yes Obama has us in a mess and is only making it messier with every day that passes.

Saddam and the countries he was bribing to get them lifted while he used the oil for food program to purchase proscribed military items and sneak them incountry and hide them from inspections and they ended when Saddam's government was removed as that is to whom they applied.

"Following the 2003 Iraq War, the sanctions regime was largely ended on May 22, 2003 (with certain exceptions related to arms and to oil revenue) by paragraph 10 of UN Security Council Resolution 1483.[57]"

No one claimed it did but it certainly had something to do with our policy to fight terrorism of which Iraq was an issue.

I never said it did. (Neither did Bush, BTW. That's ANOTHER LEFTLIE MEME.)

Make up some more bull(*)(*)(*)(*) I didn't say, and argue against it.

09/11 led to the WAR ON TERROR, which continued for our ENEMIES, even though Obama called "times", the idiot.

Bush was absolutely correct in what the result of BACKING OFF of the War on Teror would be.

We are SEEING IT NOW, and the actions of Pres. "ISIS is the 'JV' " played right into the hands of our enemies....repeatedly.

His asinine DENIAL of their existence, being the most eggregious, IMO.

Ah ok. I didn't realize that it was only the oil sanctions that were lifted in 2010. As it stands, one would think that the reason those sanctions were lifted was because Iraq was invaded in March of 03, so Saddam wasn't an issue at that point.....

    Pakistan.

Then why agree to it? If he knew what kind of problems would arise, wouldn't he fight for something that would benefit, rather then something that would put off the chaos until he was gone?

Passing the buck to a guy who ran and won on the campaign promise to remove troops.

I thought the sticking point was Iraqs unwillingness to give US Troops immunity from prosecution?

I think he is playing fast and loose with the truth, in saying that. He merely instituted an already previously made agreement. If he said the Iraq war was ended while he was president, Technically he would be correct, but the reality of the situation is different from that. He has lied about a great many things, which is why I don't really support him anymore.

*shrug* I don't see how anyone can solve the middle east conundrum. Many have tried over many decades, and all have failed.

And clearly he said if there is no residual force, this would happen. Time table or not.

You do realize that Iraq was stable when Saddam Hussein wsi in power and went into chaos the moment we invaded. Bush ad 4 years of chaos with U.S. troops dying daily and eventually signed an agreement to withdraw said troops from Iraq by 2011.

Not is Obama did the SAME "arab spring " IDIOCY, such as giving the Libyan military arsenal to North African terrorists, and $1.5 billion to the muslim brotherhood, etc. it could not have been "avoided".

It might be in another nation's borders, but it would still be here.
