Beau Biden, Joe Biden's son, has died at age 46 Vice President Joe Biden announced Saturday that his son, Beau, has died of brain cancer. Beau Biden was 46. "It is with broken hearts that Hallie, Hunter, Ashley, Jill and I announce the passing of our husband, brother and son, Beau, after he battled brain cancer with the same integrity, courage and strength he demonstrated every day of his life," the vice president said in a statement late Saturday. "The entire Biden family is saddened beyond words. We know that Beau's spirit will live on in all of us, especially through his brave wife, Hallie, and two remarkable children." Joe Biden has seen his share of terrible family losses...so sad to bury children especially. My heart comes out to him.
Joe Biden's public service in the face of personal tragedy is already established. It wasn't easy the first time, it won't be the second. It will probably kill efforts to run a viable campaign and mourn simultaneously. He's a gutsy guy, but this is too much at his age. Much less has broken the spirit of men.
My condolences to the Biden family...... it's especially hard when parents have to bury their children. The way I've always looked at this part of life is when a loved one has a terminal disease, you have a chance to enjoy some kind of quality of life w/him/her and have a chance to say 'good-bye'. It's when you have your loved one one day and they're gone the next that's heart shattering.
He was quite a kid, i feel terrible for Joe who's now buried two sons and lost most of his family in a horrible accident. Watch him introduce Dad in 2008. Every father's dream to have your kid say things about you like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLSoXaP5E8c
Damn, in a spirit of bipartisanship and general human goodwill I have to give my condolences as well to Joe and the entire Biden family for their loss. I actually read this story first thing online, and I was wondering whether or not it should be shared. To think that this man lost almost his entire family through an accident and now his own son to a terminal illness is just devastating. And that being his personal reason for taking a train to and from Washington, is a testament to what kind of man he is. I'll look at the video posted, and other things about Beau. I can't say I focused much on him(or anyone related to, or any one particular politician in general) but he deserves my respect to know what kind of life he lived, and what he stood for. Tough day for everyone.
When I read about this I was shocked. He has gone through a lot of heartache. May he and his family find peace.
My prayers go to his family; that's far too soon a time to go. The worst thing a parent can do is bury their children. RIP Beau.
Actually it was his wife and daughter who were killed in an auto accident shortly after Biden was elected in 1972.
You're correct thanks. I coulda sworn that someone on the tube said it was the second son he'd lost. http://www.people.com/article/joe-biden-family-tragedies-beau-biden-death
