A year from Election Day, GOP faces chaos it hoped to avoid

Last time around, after losing despite having (IMO, at least) clearly the better candidate, the Republicans decided on what had to be done to win next time around. Instead, they appear to be intent on losing once again.

At least, that's the way it looks to Steve Peoples, Lisa Lerer. and to me. What do you think?

You might think the Republicans aren't finding common ground with the voters, but then we have the left going full out socialist so this idea that Republicans will loose because they don't have the marketing out there to play to what the people really want is not such a solid idea.

With the Left going full moonbat there's not so much common sense from the Republican opposition.

    It could go either way.

The frontrunner is a guy who doesn't know the difference between the deficit and the debt ceiling.
The former frontrunner is a guy who wants to build a wall on the Mexican border and deport 11 million people.
The third place guy is a senator who sends staffers to security briefings rather than attending them himself.
The fourth place guy is a bat(*)(*)(*)(*) crazy senator from Texas.

The Republican Party is a mess going into 2016.

Your message is just Democrat sheeple parroting the false claim of OLD WHITE Democratic bosses.

After electing a young minority president, Democrats decided they hate minorities and young candidates, refusing to support ANY candidate who isn't OLD and isn't WHITE even minimally enough to allow such a candidate to qualify for the debates nor would the OLD WHITE Democratic media talking heads even mention any NON-WHITE or MINORITY Democrat potential candidate.

So it appears Democrats decided the WINNING formula of a young minority was just TOO sickening to allow to be president again - for which the OLD WHITE leadership decided they WANT the power SOLELY for themselves.

So Democrats have 2 OLD WHITE political hacks to pick from, technically, between 68 year OLD WHITE Clinton and 74 year OLD WHITE Sanders, though really the only choice allowed will be OLD WHITE Clinton.

Democrats and media Democrats constantly telling the lie that women and minorities won't support Republicans unless they become Democrats is a lie. For example, Trump has more Latino voter support than did Romney and as much as 500% more black voter support than prior Republican candidates.

Minorities and women are tiring of being treated like dirt under Democrats' feet being trivialized to only fringe special interest groups only concerned with welfare and social issues.

Obviously Democrats decided having a young and/or minority president is something they just won't tolerate again - for which OLD WHITE Democratic bosses decided to take over.

Are you saying that America will become the United Socialist States of America if the Democrats win in 2016 ?

    We can't let that happen.

So, it's all about age, race, and gender and has nothing to do with the issues. Is that correct?

The GOP is already staging a hissy-fit with CNBC and quite a few of those candidates want to mess with Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security which would be political suicide to them. It appears to me, the GOP did not learn their lesson from the Presidential loss in 2012.

Obama is not going to give up power easily. A war is coming and he is the author. Prepare yourself.

The GOP's self-loathing is fully justified.

All the creds that their seasoned presidential aspirants had built up are being crapped upon, and no-experience curiosities are now fawned over.

As job applicants, they snivel about questions they don't like - behaviour that would elicit a decisive, "You're fired!" even before you're hired.

Their control of Congress has resulted in an abysmal 24% approval from the American public, and the crackpots in the House just fragged the leader they had elected.

Turtle McConnell is lying low in the moribund senate, reportedly hibernating in a bowl of bean soup.

The only venue in which these characters thrive is ideological entertainment media where their masters lead them in incessantly mewling about their imaginary, demonic and ubiquitous Liberals!

A Chinese fire drill conducted by Siamese cats is better organised, and far more harmonious.

Of course, they always have their fool's paradise, that showcase of TP governance, the vaunted Red State Model as their seriously impaired vision for the nation.

    It's bloody marvelous, isn't it?

    Actually, yes it is…..

Real debate, the hashing out of different ideas, and open discussion (even conflict) on a variety of topics is healthy and necessary for a thriving Democracy. Contrast that with the Lemming mentality of the Democrats, who basically march to the beat of a single stale drummer, and throw all notion of honest and integrity to the wind, and my choice is easy.

With a bias as warped as yours, you have no choice to make.

Meanwhile, the American people who twice chose Obama to lead the nation will choose once again.

I don't know what you are talking about. I don't understand what you mean.

What impaired vision for the nation? Perhaps you can discuss a substantive issue instead of personal attacks on GOP leaders or personal attack on conservative PF posters.

Meanwhile, add one more Governor's seat to the now 33 to 17 lead the GOP has over democrats.

A 54 to 46 seat lead in the Senate
247 to 188 lead in the House
    34 State Senates
    33 State Houses
The GOP controlled 67 of 98 partisan legislative chambers across the country.

The vision of the GOP must be pretty good compared to democrats as we control almost 2/3rd of state governors and state legislatures. Meanwhile, the democrats are moving to the left.

No, its not what the majority wants. If they did then Bernie would be ahead of Clinton.

I would agree that a large part of the nation thinks they want socialism, that part that lives on welfare and/or has fallen for the "the govt can solve income inequality" BS anr/or thinks that they will be the beneficiaries of the govt largesse. Every nation that went down that totalitarian road has regretted it.

But the real solution is to greatly decrease the power of the federal govt and return that power to the states, let each state do what it thinks is best. Some will go socialist, some will go free market and limited govt.

Do it, resolve the question once and for all. If socialism wins then we will all know and will all willingly become socialists. But the "progressives" will never, ever let that experiment run because they know they will lose.

"Vision" is directed at the future. If you take delight in what Republicans have achieved, especially during the time that they have controlled both the US House and Senate, enjoy it while you can.

The 90% White party has succeeded at the polls, and statehouse control has allowed superior gerrymandering that should keep them running the House as they do so marvelously for a few years to come.

Meanwhile, their feuding Congressional representation is loathed by Americans (17% approval) and the inexorable demographic shift portends that the homogeneous, aging enclave will continue to waste away in a Last Hurrah in denial of the impending consequences.

Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, female Americans, and younger, better-educated Americans comprise a growing portion of the electorate, and the GOP is not attracting those sectors of the populace - quite the contrary.

Why be such a racialist? What does race have to do with anything? In a country that is 77% white, the democrats still rely on white people for 60% of their votes. They better be careful when putting down all the white people that vote for them, because if they lose any more of the white vote, they can't win the election. As I pointed out already, republicans control nearly 2/3rds of state legislatures and 2/3rds of the governors seats. With Trump gaining momentum with blacks, Hispanics and Asians as well, the democrats putting all their eggs in the racist basket may be shooting themselves in the foot.

As far as the congress goes, I don't see anyone even pretending that the democrats will win the congress. The GOP could even gain in both chambers on Donald Trump's coattails against a corrupt and incompetent candidate like Hiliary Clinton, who is believed to be a liar by 60% of the general public.

And how do you explain the ONLY avowed socialist politician in the country, without a national committee or big capital to back him up, being only a few points behind Clinton? I'm afraid the majority of Americans want a whole lot more socialism than you boys are willing to let on.

This seems to be the standard default line from the talk radio right.

There isn't any real indication that the Democrats are going full "socialist" or "moonbat". In fact, most of Hillary Clinton's positions poll well with voters.

But every time anyone points out the obvious chaos in the GOP, be it the coup against Boehner, the radical posture of the Freedom Caucus, the clown car, or the inability of the RNC to maintain any sort of order or discipline in its nominating process, the talk radio types automatically respond with this line.

    It's meaningless, of course.

The RNC made these conclusions and "Asked" that they be used....unfortunately Republicans no longer listen to the RNC, or even to each other for the most part.

One of the best things democrats can keep on doing that is going to ensure that they are going to lose in a landslide this next presidential election is to keep trashing white people. They keep bragging about how they have the Hispanic vote, and they have the black vote. But if all the Hispanics vote democrat, and all the blacks vote democrat, that'll get them about 20%. Maybe a lot less than that in fact. Many Hispanics identify as white (myself included) and don't appreciate being constantly called racist as the democrats constantly do.

With the black lives matter movement trashing whites and trashing police, this is offensive even to moderates and liberals who are tired of the race card. People are tired of the one trick pony democrats claiming every issue is about race. People like the police. People hold the police in high regard. They are the brave men and women who put their lives on the line everyday when they go to work. Many people have family who are police officers. They don't like having their loved ones trashed by democrats. This includes blacks and Hispanics as well who have family members who are police.

Democrats rely on whites for 60% of their votes. Who stands to lose the most by trashing white people?

If democrats so desperately want to divide this country on race, 77% of the country is white, they will lose big time this election by continuing to harp on whites as a bunch of racists.
