Lol, are you seriously comparing the Ottoman Empire to individual countries?

As to America, the conquerers were against people who wielded sticks and stones.

Oh, God, not another fabricated quote from the likes of Amir Taheri:

Like I said, these Islam-haters lie through their teeth.

Obama held hostage: How Iran’s using the nuke deal as license to go wild
By NY Post Editorial Board November 7, 2015

President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry were convinced their one-sided nuclear deal would lead to better relations with Iran, but it’s already doing the reverse.

Tehran has taken two more Americans hostage just this month — and followed up with a massive cyberattack on the US government, especially the State Department’s Office of Iranian Affairs.

The kicker: Iran is holding the nuke deal hostage — threatening to junk it if Obama tries to punish the country for its fresh outrages.
Wake up and smell the coffee, guys.

When they seized one of the new hostages, the Iranians also grabbed his computer and forced him to unlock it. That allowed the Revolutionary Guard to launch what The Wall Street Journal reports is a massive cyberattack.

And, of course, the new hostages — charged with spying, natch — join three other American citizens already held.

Tehran has also cracked down on Iranians advocating better ties with Washington, while dialing up the anti-American propaganda. There’s legal action, too, including a new ban on the import of any US-made consumer goods. They even shut down a KFC in Tehran.
(So much for the dreams of new openings in Iran for American businesses.)

In case there was any doubt, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei reiterated his commitment to “Death to America” (while telling Americans not to take it personally).

Vintage Iran, in other words. Little different from the days of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that culminated in the taking of 52 American hostages and holding them in captivity for 444 gut-wrenching days.

Back then, the Jimmy Carter administration found itself unable or unwilling to respond forcefully. Likewise, Team Obama today.

Some in Congress want new sanctions targeted at, for example, the Guard officials behind the cyberattacks. But Obama and Kerry are instead lifting all US sanctions as part of the nuke deal.
And, again, Tehran says it will tear up the pact if Washington retaliates for the latest provocations.

Mind you, Iran has yet to see the vast bulk of the hundreds of billions of dollars it’s to receive under the deal — but it’s still threatening to renege. How much worse will it get once the first $100 billion or so has cleared?

This is the time to see if the Iranians mean it: Hit them with new sanctions before handing over that cash, and see if they pull out. Better to know now, at the lowest cost.

The president won’t do it, of course: He sees the nuke deal as key to his legacy, right up there with ObamaCare. Iran’s leaders know it — and they’re going to use this hostage ruthlessly.

Khamenei is a hard-right politician appealing to a specific group of Iranians. It's just rhetoric, no different than McCain's "Bomb Bomb Iran" jingle or Netanyahu's constant threats of a similar nature.

Who threw the first punch is irrelevant, although it was America that facilitated Khamenei's rise to power.

this is what Imam Khomeini said more than 35 years ago!Just US medias Censored it always...this is not only about US.about other nations we have had seen such thing.like Jews.In contradict with many many lies about Iranian Jews hard situation the have and kind of freedom for their religion.they have candidate in parliament, they have their synagogue they have their special schools which is under their control and etc but at the time U here death to Israel very serious in Iran and even Jews say that some times.like some Americans who are living in Iran and they say death to America.like they do it because they love US ad they know this government in US is demolishing America and also they know saying death to America point it's government not people.
another example is Iraq.Saddam attacked Iran.and brought about second long war in 20 century but at that time even Imam Khomeini was saying we have no problem with Iraqi people.the problem is it's government.and when Saddam went Iran and Iraq started great relationship and many Iranian lost their life in Iraq to help them fight against ISIS...

So being Islamic does NOT mean supporting a lot of brutalities and wars Islamic governments brought about?

Who is more likely to start a war, your depots or our people? Why are we not at war with some of the Islamic world’s real republics?

Feel free to enlighten yourself as to who starts wars, you can start here:

U have no idea a bout Islamic medias
for one example channels which with US and some other government like UK supports are performing program against Islam and Islamic republic only in Persian are more than 160 (if U relinquish thousands of websites ,social channels and even movies which are being mad inside the country ), while Islamic republic official channels are less than 20!even newspapers which are being released.U see except only about 10 to 20% of them they are all working according to western governments policy (but the interesting point in this case is that those 10 to 20 percent which I said are the most popular in society!)but what a bout U?
your government banned any channel which it thinks that it is effective against their policy I have access to lots of your channels but what a bout U?U don't have this chance!
also when I talk with Americas I see how much their idea about my society is different from what it really is . when they talk about my society I see no similarity with what I am leaving in (this is what those who traveled Iran say too) but what your people say about your society I see not only what I was thinking about your society is true but also I was very optimistic and reality is worse...
look I man NOT saying this as controversy or being spiteful.NO.I am honest in it . when I get more familiar with your society I feel more pity for your people . U are leaving in horrible situation while all medias 24h/7D are trying to convince U that U are leaving in the only heaven on the earth at least if others have troubles in their society the can see it but the one who is blind to his disease not only will not try to cure it but also he may try to save the situation he is leaving in.I am sure U will get what I am saying one day ( while U may laugh at me now) but I hope that day won't be so late.

Who is more likely to start a war?who?haw many nations are in the world that U can't fined any family between them who has lost some of their members by American soldier?
who used beaned weapons against innocents?
who used first and only nuke weapon in the wold while he is proud of what it did!!?(while even Americans believe US may use nuke weapon again!!)
who performed Ajax and many other operations like that a round the world?
who supported Saddam while he know he is using chemical weapons against innocents?
who shut down Iran Air Flight 655 and killed 290 innocent civilians from six nations including 66 children?
who is supporting some terrorist groups who killed 17 thousand innocents only in Iran and many many others in Iraq (I mean MEK)
who supported a savage dictator for 25 years and helped him in suppressing people in the most harsh ways?(while it is doing that today in Bahrain,Arabia,Egypt and etc.)
these are very very small parts of my history.I have read some parts of Iraqis,Yemenis, Arabs,Afghans, Germans,Japanese,Pakistanis,Vietnamese, some African countries , south americans. U think they forget their history?no.one they this wound will start bleeding and these fires which are under ashes will burst in to flame...

read other nations history to see what your government did with them....just read

We can deal and justify feud and even war between the sides, who did who the worse etc', but an agreement was signed, sanctions lifted, trade established, so what excuse is there for the same rhetoric ? just one, both countries continue with the same agenda that like it or not - collide, so yea you can keep your feet dry with a wierd agreement saying you prevented a war but in fact the war carries on throu proxies in Yemen and Syria who knows were else, lot's of ppl still die for same reasons and its very possible it will reach a point that both sides can't ignore anymore and will fight, experts should evaluate these risks but from what I gathered the estimations of the desicion makers was reality and rhetoric will change......and they didnt so far, even looks abit worse to me.

Btw, I love this "we are Muslims we cant control our rage - understand us!" rhetoric :) should be copied all around the world :)

first of all to test it U can go Iran in some ceremonies like 22 Bahman and ask those millions of people who are in the streets and are shouting "Death to America" that are they want American people die or they want to show that they are against US policy?
this is totally obvious and simple to understand!I think any stupid man can get it..U expect something else from the nation who endured 115 years of nonstop crimes from US?
    and about kashf al asrar.
first of all it is obvious that U even have not seen that book!second Amir Taheri was Shah pro and against Islamic republic and wrote many books and articles against it.and second thing in this case is that what the article that You've quoted from did is like to take a pic from the one who has a bloody knife in his hands and then say he is bully murderer while if some one could record a movie from former moment U would see he only saved his life against a savagely attack.Amir Taheri cut some parts of Imam Khomeini statements without any fair explanation of what he was saying.U have read a lot against Imam Khomeini for one time test this one too :
    http://www.al-islam.org/message-tha...adeh-0#alliance-between-religion-and-politics
In Imam Khomeini time many advertisement was trying to keep religious people (who involved great part of society) from social movement which was against government by interpreting religion in the way that they wanted.(this is a tool that between many nations during he history has been used by those who are in power)while if U read Islam U see it is strongly against cruelty and in Islam being indifferent to what is happening in society specially cruelties is great sin.yes Jihad has been introduced very bad for U but for us Jihad means sacrificing yourself to demolish cruelty and saving justice read about Imam Hussein to get what it means :
    http://www.al-islam.org/story-of-the-holy-kaaba-and-its-people-shabbar/third-imam-husayn-ibn-ali
    and
    http://imamhussain.org/english/
so Imam Khomeini stand against these advertisements to organize social movements which brought about revolution and also let Iran to stand strongly against Saddam in 8 year war while e had great support of supper powers and Iran was in very bad situation

Well, considering your (and our) history of 'involvement' with Iran, including the CIA-led overthrow of their democratically-elected government, are you really surprised at the animosity? If the position were reversed you would act no differently. Don't expect people whose lives our actions fundamentally changed for the worse to be grateful or sympathetic with the West.

My neighbor last week in a garage sale was selling a satellite receiver, funny thing though, I would have to learn Russian.

Who is more likely to start war? Not the Iranian who died at the hands of Islam in San Bernardino.

"If you wanted to keep Saddam in power to suppress the scary Shiites, you have probably exceeded the limits and violated some verse of the Koran. Have a nice day!" (Me, 08-11-05, 01:00 PM)

Why do you think they wanted to do that? I want you to be enfranchised to vote, but according to our media Saddam got 100% of your Shiite vote. Right?

“There were 11,445,638 eligible voters - and every one of them voted for the president, according to Izzat Ibrahim, Vice-Chairman of Iraq's Revolutionary Command Council.” http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/2331951.stm

We get the Satanic Verses media, it is in our library:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Satanic_Verses

Is it in yours? Can Iranians read it and display it without fear in public book stores?

“1045: Access denied for user 'irantv'@'localhost' (using password: NO)”

“For example, while the United States criticizes Iranian support for terrorist organization such as Hamas and Hezbollah, Iranians talk about U.S. support for Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.”
    http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6493938

Really? You wanted us to take sides, right, after calling us the “Great Satan”? You hurt our feelings. I loaded parts into a box for you guys, remember, Iran was using C-130’s as bombers and using F-14’s for the radar, Saddam was using Soviet weapons, but you obviously forget that; I asked the guy, why are we sending Iran parts(though back channels), and he asked, “do you want the other guy to win?” Well, no. I was standing next to an Iranian Officer in “A” school Memphis when he failed an electronics test, and he was sweating bullets, that dot matrix printer was running and running (a really long time, which was always a bad sign), and I asked the instructor, “why is he so upset,” and he angrily said, “If you fail the course we don’t kill you.”

    Would you have killed him?

Germans, Japanese? Why did this guy give my father his business card: Sardar Sher Ahmad Khan Chief of Makhad (Attock District)?

Give us a break. We don't always win elections like Saddam.

as I said when I talk with Americas I see how much their idea about my society is different from what it really is!wish U have this chance to travel Iran.(for example about that student.U really have thought he was series about that threat?!he translated a Persian expression.U have the same in English.for example U say I bet my life on sth.it doesn't mean U really are ready to be killed if that thing won't happen!or about Satanic Verses.U really think if U read it and display it in public in Iran U someone will reprimand U?!!! of course for U having that is usual but there is a lot of books, movies, documentary and also medias that U don't have this right to have access to it.even YouTube, Facebook tweeter and etc lock our page in other language!!or your government banned our channel. ...)

about that list which was small part of our history U only found Iran Iraq war?!
first of all that list includes something even before revelation and second US support for Saddam was much more than what U said. have a look : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_support_for_Iraq_during_the_Iran–Iraq_war
    and
    http://foreignpolicy.com/2013/08/26...rove-america-helped-saddam-as-he-gassed-iran/
what we did and are doing is defending ourselves I say it again read history to understand why lots of people hate US policy...

“This legislation will help demonstrate to the Iraqi regime just how seriously our country views its campaign against the Kurds. In addition, it will help assure that US tax dollars do not subsidize the Iraqis.” (Jesse Helms) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prevention_of_Genocide_Act_of_1988

I watched him speak once in 1976, but at the time both my Senators were Democrats right up until Wyche Fowler (1993).

Our form of government, our First Amendment, is not based upon, “truly the right way has become clearly distinct from error.”

We make mistakes. All people make mistakes.

I specifically remember one chemical attack of Saddam because my grandmother said something about how horrible something minor was domestically and I got angry and mentioned what just happened, it was in our papers, and prior to 1984.

You do realize that not all the stuff on the Internet is real? Some people lie.

When we did go to war with Iraq, you do realize that Gorby said, “That is far enough,” on CNN when it looked like we were headed to Baghdad, and we stopped because of the Soviet Union and the Muslims? You remember people thinking Norman Schwarzkopf wanted to keep going? I have repeatedly mentioned that I voted for Andre Verne Marrou to protest, because I was for finishing off Saddam then. I couldn’t vote Democrat because they did what I knew they would in the last war, support keeping him “contained,” so his leaking containment vessel could kill again.

The same typical “liberals” who were against removing Saddam in the first place, and the second place, and the third place, are the same ones that claim we supported the chemical weapon attacks and gave Saddam WMD; they have no inspections to prove any of it though and they did lots, all they got is words. They are the reason he was alive to kill again in Kuwait and again when he called for Jihad against us which caused 9/11.

If we go to war I can’t assure you that a “liberal” will not dress up as a student and pop a cap in Mecca, and some other “liberal” will claim that a civilian clothed Hamas suicide bomber on a bus is not terrorism, but is a “(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)bag" on a bus, to keep from admitting it is material support for terrorism, like they repeatedly did to keep Saddam.

If I have anything to with it, you will see us coming and know exactly who is killing supporters of civilian clothed bombers (those sodomite monsters that shove salami bombs up their butts)…

Just hope we don’t ever get a UN resolution and an Ayatollah giving a suicide bomber’s family $10,000 for their sweet “martyr,” that killed one of our little girls, because Saddam learned the hard way.

“If it is a Vulcan proverb that ‘only Nixon could go to China,’ it must be a Romulan proverb that only Obama could go to Iran (engage cloaking device).” Your deal was too good.

    From your link:

“No international outcry against Iraq is likely unless Iran secures firm evidence of Iraq’s widescale use of chemical agents. Even then, the international community is unlikely to employ economic or political sanctions against Iraq after failing to institute them against the USSR for using chemical weapons in Afghanistan and Southeast Asia.”

Yes, I remember the use in Afghanistan too, it too was in our papers. Some people don’t know the difference between support and analysis by some CIA talking twit.

Oh, wait, you are their friends now. Enjoy your Soviet buddies and our boot licking president.

Personally I would rather have peace.

What the pro iran / khameini boot lickers don't want mentioned is how saddam attacked iran as khomeini had threatened to expand his "revolution" across the world, and was threatening to attack his neighbors first.

To me it looked like “complex foreign policy,” like the French ambassador said Bush did not understand, before 9/11; Saddam kicked out the Ayatollah who France welcomed with open arms:

One would have to look far and wide to find a muslim terrorist that France did not cater to. They think it makes them "multi-cultural," that it adds lovely shades of the rainbow to their 'mosaic."

But as the Spanish learned in 2004, and France a few weeks ago, trying to feed the muslim crocodile everyone else first won't prevent it from taking a large bite out of you anyway before it digests everyone else.
