So is every man who likes putting his penis in a woman's mouth mentally ill? The plumbing doesn't match that sexual need.

Thats just the warm up . Its where your heading in the end that counts. Do you know that more people are addicted to sex than anything else on earth? Is addiction a mental illness?

When it comes to Christianity and homosexuality only one is demonstrably unnatural: Christianity. It is clearly passed down through indoctrination. No one man has ever been born Christian. Homosexuality, on the other hand, appears throughout written history and predates Christianity.

Proponents of Christianity refuse to believe that homosexuality is anything other than an unnatural state of sin and look to science to prove this, all the while refuting any science that indicates the Christian god is not real. This dichotomy strikes me as more akin to mental illness than homosexuality does.

Who is supposed to accept and respect the faith and belief Christians have in their god but not also accept and respect the faith and belief that homosexuals have in the fact that they are not mentally ill and their feelings for their lovers are, in fact, natural and okay to experience? Personally I'm not going to disbelieve in the tangible, observable love between two men or two women because an intangible, unproven deity has decreed it is an "abomination".

The queer fascination and intrusive scrutiny some have for homosexuality as it is expressed between to consenting adults is weird. I don't know a better way to put it because as a heterosexual male I simply don't think about homosexual lifestyles or acts and I'm certainly not inclined to read a book that would have him sit and ponder it in vivid detail.

Except for, you know, all the places where it occurs in nature.

Using computers isn't natural. Clearly we should have special rules banning them.

Let me know when you find that gay gene . Whats natural and normal are not the same. You get two headed snakes in nature.

    You also get these

Lobsters that are male on one side and female on the other

I'm not concerned enough to need a confirmation on a gay gene. Neither am I in need of proof on the Christian god. The Christian's I know have had a great impact on my life. Their virtues are what make me believe there is something to what they have faith in. The homosexuals that I know express sincere love that I can feel in the room. I'm not about to deny that or say it is wrong.

Two headed snakes do exist. Have you ever heard of one that talks, though?

So only Christians have virtue ? Few know the difference between love and lust or even love and hate. They can love all they want. I dont have to accept that as normal or something I should encourage. Its unhealthy . It costs tax payers money now with Obamacare.

Being influenced by a social movement created by the people affected by a mental illness is not a service, its disregarding accepted psychology. It is the same as if schizos pressured psychology to remove them from being mentally ill.

For if a person is not attracted by the opposite sex, as all of nature is, then obviously it is a mental aberration. That is the simplest thing to discern. For the attraction of male to female is what insures that life continues on. If a person, or another lifeform is attracted to the sex that together they cannot procreate, this is an aberration and basically a mental illness.

The same goes for men like Bruce Jenner who is now appearing to be female. This is obviously a mental illness as well, and instead of trying to find a cure, as we do with other mental illnesses, we now celebrate it? LOl. Well, Heinlein wrote about the Crazy Years long ago, and that is where this society has descended, into social insanity. Not that it bothers me personally, for I do not care. But you need to call a spade a spade, just for the sake of intellectual honesty. No one care much about honesty nor integrity today though.

So, we have aberrations, sociopaths, homosexuals, transgenders and who knows what we will call normal next? Perhaps men who want to be little girls, and women who want to be little boys, and of course both sexes who think they are dogs, and want to be socially embraced for their mental illnesses, instead of seeking a way to cure them.

It would be wrong to discriminate against such mentally ill people, and compassion is needed, but to stop research to help such illnesses is wrong. The pedophile may not want to be cured, for he enjoys it so much, as with homosexuals. But that does not mean we should not find a cure and then offer it for those who would take it.

Any mental affliction, that would end the continuation of the species is a mental illness, from the big view of nature. For that is not what nature hardwires life forms to be. To pass on the genes is what is hard wired, and if it is not, then it is certainly a mental illness. A psychological aberration. Lets at least call a spade a spade. OR we can all play along and act like it is what nature intended. I would rather not live in a society that lies on purpose.

An "obvious mental illness" eh? Well I happen to think that believing in a talking snake theory and using a 2000 year old text based on said theory to deny people their civil liberties is an "obvious mental illness". Is there a facility nearby you could check into?

Nearly 6 billion people in this world think that the belief that Christ is the son of a God is indicative of a delusional thought process. But since most Christians function well in society and contribute to the social fabric in a positive way - we are willing to cut them some slack.
The majority of gay people I deal with are well off financially, creative and are running large construction and remodeling projects with multi-million
dollar budgets. The are contributing to society in a positive way.

And until someone proves to me that it is not normal for there to be a small percentage of gay people in any human population (it seems to be fairly consistent throughout written history) I can come to no other conclusion that it is a NORM for any given population of humans. Prove me wrong.

You would be wrong. 1. the bible is over 4,000 years old, 1st by oral tradition than by written parables. All of the "horrible passages" people throw out because of their bigotry about Christianity are not descriptions of what happened, they are parables with a meaning. If you aren't smart enough to figure it our for yourselves and you prefer hostile propaganda, it is your problem. Bigotry is unacceptable.

I should have clarified that I don't "hate" all Christians, heck I'd have to hate my own parents. I'm just saying people shouldn't force it upon others. If you agree with that, then we've no need to argue ;)

Well, since gay people seem to have been around for at least 4,000 years as well, maybe some Christians should take your little speech about bigotry to heart when addressing gay people as well.

The message I responded to was anti Christian bigotry. "The snake story" was an early parable to teach that people must not let others lead him into evil. Of course there have been evil humans who claimed to Christians, and did not follow the tenets of Christ. It is not Christianity that is wrong, it is the way some PEOPLE try to change it to make it easier to follow that is wrong.

Other than a few fundamentalists who completely take Christianity from the Church, most Christians do accept gays. Your tit for my tat failed you big time.

Probably why I pointedly said, "some Christians". Read - then comment.

Not even some Christians. True Christians are those who believe and follow the tenets of Christ. Those that don't aren't Christians, they just claim to be.

Exactly the same can be said for Muslims and Hindis and Jews. Oh my.

And who is the arbiter of these "True Christians"? Do you get to decide? Do Mormons get to be "True Christians"? Catholics?
I always found this, "True Christian" argument to be rather spurious at best.
