Pinkwashing is a term I had never heard before. It refers to "an accusation often levied against Israel that the government uses its record on gay rights to hide its crimes against Palestinians."

I don't know or care how people feel about promoting two dad families, but using that crap as propaganda to cover for war criminality is simply beyond me.

Israel Hayom, Israel’s right-wing newspaper affiliated with the ruling Likud party, surprised some by printing a full-page ad for a Nissan Sentra with two gay fathers this week.



The ad depicted a family of four with two young fathers and their school-age son and daughter with the phrase “Put your family in the Sentra.”

Avi Mayer, spokesman for the Jewish Agency for Israel and a prolific tweeter, called the ad “awesomewashing.” He was playing on the term “pinkwashing,” an accusation often levied against Israel that the government uses its record on gay rights to hide its crimes against Palestinians....

most of the green land, was STATE land, not privately owned.

First time I heard of the actual term, but I did know the practice - not so much in Israel, but rather here, where right-wingers all of a sudden turned zealous gay defenders. I thought I was pretty much acceptative myself, but these guys passed me on my right so fast after 9/11, they left only a puff of smoke.

Today, it's with black guys. Gawd, ain't those rightwing guys in love - with true love, not the condenscending one of "liberals" - with their black brother, all of a sudden.
