Imagining all Jews think the same way is stereotyping of Jews and the very foundation of prejudice from which such things as antisemitism arise. You are simply name calling and joining the people who are making the very word antisemitism have no meaning.

Oh I suppose you believe that all the people in the UK who voted for Remaining in the EU are self hating British and all the white Amerian's who do not vote for Trump are self hating whites or what is it oh yes, 'white traitors'.

Certainly calling people names because their political view is different from yours is a repulsive phenomenon largely done by people wanting totalitarian societies where people do not have the right to think differently. With respect to antisemitism it has been so misused by Christian Zionists and Israel's extreme right, with fascist overtones Government to hide behind that it really has lost all meaning. Due to this the boundary between what is antisemitism and what is political expression has been totally lost. People are so used to hearing any criticism of Israel being called antisemitism that genuine antisemites now feel free to say what they want as well. In this way people like yourself who like to scream prejudice for political position are creating the very backdrop for antisemitism. That the Democratic party believes that to call the Occupation Occupation is antisemetic is proof of the total insanity there is in the US which does recognise the Occupation as the occupation it is. Antisemitism is being used to stop all criticism of Israel. Doing such, acting in a totalitarian way and stopping people having the right to free speech and political opinion is the end of democracy and unfortunately also very likely to result in a backlash against Jews which is one of the reasons many Jews you do not like because they have a different political opinion to you are at this moment working very hard on antisemitism including making sure it is not abused as it is now. The fact that you abuse all Jews who do not share your political opinion by calling them self hating is antisemitism - as well of course as a totalitarian attempt to refuse them the right for freedom of political view and free speech.

How? I am guessing here your likely hatred of blacks or other religions or gays is getting in the way of your thinking. Of course denunciation of any genuine prejudice is the opposite of propaganda, However calling people racist/antisemetic just because you do not like their political stance clearly is and that is most grossly seen in the Democrats who cannot even use the word 'occupation' believing that to word reality which the US itself accepts is antisemitism. Antisemitism is being misused to the point that it has lost its meaning. The reason for this is to quell political opposition. As many British Jewish Groups pointed out in our recent inquiry into antisemitism in the Labour Party

Only good to you because it stops legitimate criticism of Israel

Just calling someone antisemetic because they have a different political opinion to yourself is neither truthful nor ethical and only something a Supremacist would be proud of. You believe it is wrong to work against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza and to work for rights for the Palestinians. That is what you believe is antisemitism. You have no understanding at all of what antisemitism or racism in general is.

There was a time when Jews used to be proud of their opposition to oppression. That is what those working to end the occupation and to achieve rights for the Palestinians are doing. To you to do that is antisemitism. You call Jews who work for the end of the occupation and civic and human rights for the Palestinians 'self hating' another word for sometimes calling them themselves antisemetic.. I will say again, stereotyping all Jews to have the same political opinion is most certainly antisemitism.

Again you are wrong. There still are genuine antisemites around as well as people whose knowledge of what antisemitism is is unclear. For this very reason the misuse of the term antisemitism has devalued antisemitism and brought many of those people out of the cupboard arguing there is no such thing as antisemitism. Others who are unsure of what antisemitism is may be caught up in this given that they too are being called antisemites because of their desire for the end of the occupation and for the Palestinians to have the same human and civic rights every one else expects. Hence this misuse of antisemitism is the thing most likely thing to put Western Jews in danger of genuine antisemitism.

No, there is much that one can criticize about the behavior of a belligerent military occupation. There is much to criticize about the Right wing Israeli political platforms that call for Israel from Sea to River (annexation of the WB being a cornerstone). There is much to criticize when Israeli authorities destroy century old olive groves for "security" reasons. there is much to criticize about the Israeli governments treatment of the Negev Bedouins. There is much to criticize about Israel arms sales (although that is a criticism of every arms exporter).

that being said, I agree that there is an enormous amount of the most outrageous accusations (a veritable schiezeberg) against Israel that is clearly based on jew hating.
when such propaganda is thrown out to a very receptive audience one has to expect that a certain amount is going to "stick".

The issue is being able to separate the legitimate criticisms from the garbage and hate. Unfortunately much like your reaction, some believe that somehow Israel is the purest most righteous nation on earth (even more so that the USA) and any criticism is the same as jew hate. Much as I intensely dislike agreeing with our racist jew hater crowd around here, NOT all criticism of Israel is "anti-semitic".

Anti-Semitism shocks the conscience of all civilized people. It will never be tolerated in any decent society.

    - - - Updated - - -

Anti-Semitism is so outside the bounds of human decency that the only appropriate response is to denounce it.

Denunciation of anti-Semitism does not make the term anti-Semitism have no meaning.

Denunciation of anti-Semitism is making an argument in the marketplace of ideas. That's all propaganda is -- an attempt to persuade people.

Attempts to disguise anti-Semitism as "criticism of Israel" do not legitimize the anti-Semitism. And no one is fooled by the attempted disguise.

No. Anti-Semitism has no basis in reality whatsoever. Period.

    - - - Updated - - -

Maybe hypothetically. But in practice it seems that all of the alleged "criticism" is anti-Semitism.

I've never heard any criticism of Israel that didn't turn out to be an outrageous false accusation. I acknowledge the hypothetical possibility of legitimate criticism, but the reality seems quite different from that hypothetical.

Oh? so you have not heard of the human rights abuses that consistently take place under the belligerent military occupation? You haven't heard of the treatment of israeli bedouins?

Your gross generalization implies that perhaps you simply aren't listening too closely and kneejerking reactions. OTOH, I definitely agree that a considerable amount of criticism is nothing more than jew hating, and a considerable amount of it is simply enemy propaganda that is always generated in wars and that ALL sides engage in.

Israel should not be boycotted. It is surrounded by hostile Arabs and is trying to survive.

Whoa, I don't see why criticizing a gov or nation/state (and the policies) is an attack on the people who live under that rule.

It's good to support a moral democracy against amoral dictatorships stuck in the 7th century.

It seems Mr. Netanyahu is taking the boycott threat serious and is now trying to be nice at least to the Arab/Palestinians living in Israel. He even calls them "dear"...!!
For sure, one day the Israelis will have to come off their high horse and show some serious improvements in their civility towards the Palestinians and not only those living within Israeli territory. Right now the Palestinian prisoners in Israel's jails have gone on a hunger strike!

You'll find no argument from me on this one. However, I despise the elements in our government who use bronze age fairy tales as a basis for foreign policy.

I personally believe boycotts are necessarily subjective. They've been used to protest discrimination and promote discrimination.

In the case of BDS they believe they can use boycotts as a method to collectively punish Jews for being Israeli.

BDS singles out Israeli Jews for punishment by boycott and yet ignoring the rest of world’s worst human rights violators and the actions of
its own Palestinian terror cells and political parties in how they violate Palestinian rights.

BDS does not believe in freedom of speech but shutting it down if it in any way is seen as defending the right of Jews to b e Israeli.

This is precisely why BDS as we speak condemns groups and businesses that promote dialogue and coexistence between ordinary Israelis and Palestinians.

BDS also harms Palestinians. Today approximatelt 100,000 Palestinians work in Israel and Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

It is a fact that on average, they earn twice as much as Palestinians who work in the Palestinian Authority.

These Palestinian workers support thousands of other Palestinians financially.

For example Agrexco an Israeli company exports Palestinian goods and produce to European markets. If BDS had its way this company would be boycotted and thousands of Palestinian farmers would be without an exporter to sell their produce.

The BDS movement is about stereotyping all Israelis as the enemy of Palestinians, they are not.

Let's make it clear and put it out in public:

BDS is no trendy left wing idea. In fact The Palestinian Arab Executive Committee, led by the Nazi Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, called for a boycott against Jews in the British-controlled Palestine Mandate back in 1933.

15 Arab nations (The Arab League of Nations) imposed boycotts against prestate Israel in 1945, and expanded them further in 1948.

It wasn't too long ago the Arab League of Nations tried to use an oil boycott to try get Europe to turn on Israel. My favourite were the Dutch

They were the first country to get on their bicycles and tell he Arab League to kiss their ass.

I always love the Dutch for that.

Look I believe its fair play to criticize the state of Israel and as a consumer its your right to boycott Israeli products and form consumr
    boycott movements. Yes.

However I have the right to ask my government to stay neutral when it comes to the Israeli-Palestine conflict and support the right to both
peoples not just one to have a nation.

You want to protest settlements its fair play Go the next step and collectively punish Jews for being Israeli, I call it what it is, an abuse of free speech and one that will not help Palestinians.
