Was Trump wrong or racist in not specifically singling out the White Nationals in his initial statement about Charlottesville? I don't think so...both sides IMO were equally to blame.
I wouldn't care either way. Calling out bigotry and hatred is the same as calling out white supremacists. Denying that fact is just a convenient political game.
Maybe I missed it, but I have only seen one small article about anyone that attended the C..ville rally (against the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue) that was not a member of the KKK, the NAZI party or any white supremacist organization. The media vilified that individual to the point where he may have to relocate. The man is from a northern state (as am I) and he was simply there to protest the removal of part of our national heritage (be it good or bad). If the event had been closer, I might have been there to support that cause, which from my perspective has nothing to do with black or white, but is more a matter of preserving our nations history and fighting against political correctness. I was very happy to hear President Trump voice the same question that had been going through my mind, basically 'what's next, removing statues and monuments for Washington and Jefferson . . .'? I cannot justify or side with hate groups, but I believe that Liberal extremist have to be held in check if we do not want to become a Socialist nation.
There was always going to be another time to criticize Antifa for overstepping their bounds. Doing it after someone was killed at a rally, in which the majority on the other side were Nazis and white supremacists was incredibly stupid.
Yet it was not reported that anyone connected to any racist group was at fault when Trump made his announcement.
If the individual was not a part of the Nazi/KKK clan, then he was an idiot for marching with them. He could have protested an hour before they got there, marched from a different direction, done anything else. Poor decision making on his part.
Are you saying that it was difficult to discern that the Klan and Neo-Nazis had a large presence at the rally? There's a reason that he was condemned by people across the political spectrum. It's horrible optics to look like you are mitigating the activities of those two groups. Just condemn the Nazis and white supremacists and move on. He should have waited until Antifa lost their **** at some speaker at a college campus.
Daniel, you may be right ( I wasn't there, so I don't know), but I would have probably made the same mistake. The whole thing reminds me of going into the voting booth with our choices being 'Oh No' and 'Hell, No'.
The truth is that the girl would still be alive if that guy didn't drive his car into that crowd. You know that, but your need to score a cheap political point overrode it.
He said some nazis are good people. No, they aren't. End of discussion. Is he personally a racist? I don't know. He definitely stokes the flames of racism to energize his racist base. That is how he got elected.
He did not say some nazis are good people. Please post proof of those words. Racism is what the left always screams when they lose. Trump isn't racist at all.
Yes he did. When he was trying to equivocate and he said there were good people on both sides. There were two sides: Nazis and nazi protesters.
I was hoping you could provide the quote you claim he said. I don't think he actually said that and I watched all his speeches. There is a difference between what the MSM SAYS he says and what he actually says. Like last night when a supposed 'journalist' at CNN called Trump 'unhinged' after the Arizona rally. I couldn't believe Don Lemon would just sit there and lie. Well...sadly I guess I could believe it.
- Mitch McConnell http://www.latimes.com/politics/was...onnell-there-are-no-1502895707-htmlstory.html Even Mitch McConnell felt compelled to rebuke Trump.
He said there were good people on both side. Good people don't march with nazis. And even Republicans rushed to say so.
That is chicken sht. Trump is a Republican president and McConnell isn't going to undermine him unless forced to do so. Or do you disagree. Are you saying there are good nazis? That's what I'm hearing. Do good people march alongside people flying swastikas and chanting anti-Jewish slogans? Are these your good people? That is who your nazi president is defending.
