We are told that legal aliens are more law abiding than American citizens

Assuming thats true then the suspicion falls back on illegals as the bad guys

Any legal immigrant sitting in jail now should never walk on our streets again

They should be deported as soon as their sentence is up

But illegals should be removed before they have a chance to hurt anyone

You will NEVER remove all illegals, and why should children brought her at a very young age be deported to a "foreign" country.

After the wall is fully functioning I am willing to compromise on the illegal alien issue and allow the best of the best to remain as lifetime greencard holders but never citizens

And that includes Dreamers unless they serve in the military

The open borders crowd has tried twice to force amnesty onto America and failed

So no wall is not good news for the illegal aliens who are already in this country

99.9% of the people do not give a tinker's damn what congress (or you) think. Congress spent some time looking into Ford (IIRC) and Clinton pardons -- I guess because they had nothing better to do at the time and so decided to masturbate.

    Huh?

Look... I'm not here to disparage you. But you insist on displaying such ignorance. In this thread alone, you already had to learn about Impeachment after you had already posted nonsense. Just because you wouldn't take the time to do a bit of research before commenting on something you know so little about. Now this!

Here is an idea. Before you post, why don't you do a quick search to learn a bit about the subject? Google is a great tool. Books won't kill you either. Right-wing sites are most definitely not a trustworthy source of knowledge.

I'll even give you a hint: We are a Country because we are not a Territory. We are in the Northern Hemisphere because we are not in the Southern Hemisphere. We are a First world nation because we are not a third world nation. We are a white-majority country because we are not a black-majority country. We are a Capitalist Country because we're not a Communist Country. We are a rich nation because we are not a poor nation. We are a Republic because we are not a Monarchy. We are a Democracy because we are not a Dictatorship...

    See the pattern?

And, before you go there, know that at the time of our Founding Fathers, the term "Democracy" usually referred to the type of direct Democracy created by the Ancient Greeks. Today, the term is generally defined by the last statement in the Gettysburg Address.

    Well they better be.

But what the Pew Research Center refuses to report what the cops on the streets have observed, that legal immigrants are less likely to report crimes that have already been committed.

And it gets worse, the only crimes that are reported committed by illegal aliens are those who got caught.

Depending from what country a legal immigrant or illegal alien came from, for example in Latin America law enforcement are viewed to be the enemy.

Sanctuary Cities protect those who have broken our laws.

Trump just pardoned someone who broke our laws, even before he was sentenced.

    same thing

Democracy and republic are not the same things as it relates to government. If you can't grasp that I'm not going to waste time engaging with you further. These are basic things you're missing.

You still haven't showed how the pardoning power is limited in the constitution.

One problem is the type of legal immigrant we are talking about

The software engineer that works for microsoft is almost sure to call the police when his home is burglerized

But the shoeless Somali who is packed into government housing with thousands of other uneducated refugees with no business being in America may not call the police after he gets mugged on the street

Of course they're not the same thing. There are Republics that are dictatorships (ex: China, North Korea, Cuba), just like there are Monarchies that are Democracies (ex: the Netherlands, UK, Canada)

Education is never a waste of time. You should try it. Remember: good sources of education: Google, books... . bad sources: Right-wing websites, wingnut radio, ...

Did you just cite Google as a good source for education? That depends on how you use it. If possible, look for reputed sources that have established a reputation of honesty and decency. Hint: Not the NYT, WAPO or CNN. CNN's decline is particularly sad. CNN used to be America's BBC, now it can't even hold a candle to BBC. I get my political news from TheHill.

Neither China north Korea or Cuba hold elections to elect representative invested with particular and limited powers. They CALL themselves republics but they are not in form. Please tell me you do something that doesn't require analysis because you're terrible at it.

What power does the monarch hold in those instances? None. See above.

What on Earth are you on about?

Actually I believe all the ones mentioned are excellent sources of education. You could certainly get inaccurate information from them. You can get it from the BBC, and you could get it from The Hill. None of them are trying to deceive you, though. But they make mistakes. And they also voice opinions. I believe that a very important part of the education process is to know how to discriminate between the two. People who only read and listen to media that always agrees with them will never learn this. And they also never learn to always have a certain level of skepticism (depending on the issue) of new information until it's confirmed by diverse sources.

There are, however, media outlets that are trying to deceive people. You could get a result in Google that points you to Breitbart or Sean Hannity. But it's also part of the learning process to learn who has purposefully deceived you in the past.

Bingo! So, now you see that you are the one confusing "Republic" with Democracy. Free elections are held in a Democracy. Those nations are not democracies because they don't hold free elections.

BTW, they do hold elections. They're just not Democratic elections.

A Republic is simply a country in which the Head of State is not a Monarch.

Bingo 2! You're on a roll! That's why they are called Democratic Monarchies. Because the real power is in the hands of representatives freely elected by the people.

    See? You can learn too!

Republic's have elections. How do you not know that?

Democracies have the people vote directly on issues. And by people I mean citizens.

A republic is far more than that.

They ought to be. They are bound by federal law and federal law trumps state law wherever they conflict. What you saw in the Arizona case was state and local officials enforcing federal law and the federal government suing to prevent them from continuing to do so, even though the federal government, the executive branch, tasked with executing the law, refused to enforce the laws on the books.

No they are not what? Guilty of accessory to the crimes committed by criminals they let out? Yes they are. Any contribution to the commission of a felony makes the person contributing guilty of accessory. If a man wearing a mask and carrying a bag of money jumps in a taxi and yells, "Take me to the airport!", if that taxi driver takes his foot off the brake, he becomes guilty of being an accessory to bank robbery. (Barring any threat to his life, of course.)

The feds move to deport these people and the cities and states interfere. The feds are doing their job, the cities and states are not, and are actively interfering in the legitimate and lawful activity of federal agents. How is it the feds' fault for that guy raping a 13 year old girl when they moved to get him and the city let him out? (Baltimore, if memory serves.)

    Are you serious? Of course!

You haven't understood even a word of what I've been telling you, have you? No wonder you are so resistant to obtaining an Education. We have elections because we are a Democratic Republic!!!! The reason your statement "we are not a democracy, we are a Republic" is absurd is because you are implying that they exclude each other. It's like saying "that car isn't gray, it's a Honda"

Are you saying that we don't vote directly on issues? Have you ever voted? Or, at least, seen a ballot? Last one I voted on was about 6 pages long, and included about 50 issues.

    That is hilarious!

From your reference (in bold the relevant part):

"A republic (Latin: res publica) is a form of government in which the country is considered a "public matter" – not the private concern or property of the rulers – and where offices of state are elected or appointed, rather than inherited. It is a form of government under which the head of state is not a monarch."
Sorry man, but I'm done. You have too many holes in your education. Books, Google,... even attending classes at your local college will help. Getting all your information from right wingnut media will only make it worse.

But they aren't. So all this chest bumping by trump and his followers is meaningless.

    no they aren't. .

    .

    .
No, they do not interfere. They simply do not allow state resources to be used to do federal LEO's job.

    No they aren't.

I've understood what you've said, you called north Korea a republic. You realize they have a monarch essentially, a family rules them? You understand this?

You vote on every issue of the government then? That's what a democracy does, see bronze age Athens. They voted on everything essentially.
Even referendums are things you vote on to delegate to your elected representatives.

I love how you post a whole paragraph and concentrate on the last sentence as of it were the only portion or as if I said that wasn't some portion of it. Honestly man, what is your malfunction?

No! North Korea has a dictator. Not a Monarch. This error is not as bad as all the others you have made because there are similarities between a dictatorship and one particular type of monarchy: absolute monarchy. But it is an error. In a monarchy, the successor is a member of the family. In a dictatorship, the dictator can designate anybody. Whether they be from their family or not.

There are others. Canada and the UK are Monarchies, and very different from N.Korea. I could go on, but you'll keep on making these insane comments until you get into the habit of researching before you post about things you know nothing about.

I mentioned Greek Democracy several times in my previous messages because I just knew you were going to make this mistake, and hoped to keep you from making it. Alas! You blew it anyway.

Study!.. This subject is way too advanced for your current level of Education. Re-reading the messages could help. But that will only give you the most basic concepts.

The Kim family runs NK and has for 3 generations. They are in all respects an absolute monarchy or a familial dictatorship. Those are The same things.

And what powers does the queen have these days? Parliament runs those nations, the royals are simple figureheads: distractions.

You keep talking democracy: Athens is the model.
    We are not Athens.

I have a philosophy polisci degree and a juris doctorate. I've more than enough education to recognize your bullshit for what it is.

They aren't. And you'll have a gap in your education while you keep repeating this. Nobody with any basic knowledge of Political Science (regardless of whether they are on the right or the left) will take you seriously if you keep repeating that. The Kim family has held power because they have been designated by their parents. But they could just as well have designated somebody not in their family. That's the reason why they were careful to include the term "Republic" is in their name.

Anyway, can't do much for you if you refuse to study. You yourself even sent a link that explains it. You obviously didn't read it. But you should. At least it's a start.
